  1. Rasmussen sported an under 2ERA then last 2 games pitched gave up 3HRs ending his season on a bad stat finisher. He only pitched in 3 games where it was a tie ball game or 1run differential. Then he started this year with 2 games giving up HRs. The other 3runs was on the Perdomo snafu thrust in to a 5 run lead game that had Perdomo done what he did Hader was going to close it out. Mentally he had all the reason to be checked out thinking his night was done. He had 6 strikes in the 15 pitches thrown. Gotta give him a longer opportunity to prove himself. First games of a season guys just arent ready and heat up as the temps do.
  2. The bullpen has some warts affected by injuries. Also affected by a crap offense that is missing 3 of its highest paid player veterans. No minors games to be played yet, already 20months since the last game where your prospects have shown what they can do. Williams' Change up is still good. He's just not there yet. But theres your 7th-10th inning future lockdown right there. Hader apparently just a 9th inning closer is a Counsell problem that he can die on when this season is over. Feyereisen, Rasmussen pitched adequate with upside last season. Suter has had a decent history doing what they need him to do. Lindblom was a Staryer last year, back to the bullpen for him since what? 5years ago. Give him a month more sample size before giving up completely on him. That's quite a large number of RPs that arent clicking on all cylinders. Perdomo just threw another clean inning. Theres Boxberger who's done well 1IP at a time for his career. If Williams is going to fix himself, games like today is where it's going to get started. 2ks but a walk and HR given up 2Runs. What he was last year it doesnt take much for him to clean that statline up. Counsell pulling Houser at 73? Pitches was it when Pittsburgh had 5 hits-3 of them infield hits. Your best groundball starter has runners on 1st and 2nd he should have remained in for at least the next 2 batters. Had to pull a double switch when bringing in Suter. What is Counsell doing? Mis-managing is the answer right now.
  3. Should have kept Houser to fight for the 5IP 1R record extender. Counsell is pulling such bad strings this season. Game over 4runs is your dagger with this Brewers offense. Now just hope to score at least a run.
  4. That's alarming. Any of those guys if having a decent injury history the last 2 seasons have to be better than King for 1/3rd the price paid? It's bad enough King is the gives up big plays at worst times, but then he misses games or leaves games early.
  5. I just wonder on breaking pitches with an extra foot of movement. In the spin-rate craze era we're currently in, how much crazier will movement appear on pitches? How about difficulties locating within the strike zone? FBs i don't worry so much about as they're not moving so much and the idea to increase the split second for hitter should get results you want. Just again are breaking pitches the adjustment period has to be rather tough on pitchers. Are sinkers and curveballs now bouncing short of the plate? Do sliders become passes balls moving beyond a catchers reach? Say you go to robo umps, do you just remove catcher and ump from the game entirely? Have a netting to collect the balls? To compensate catchers possibly not being able to catch certain breaking pitches with the added space for movement? Just wonder how late break in pitches given an added foot looks like considering what we see now from our guys pitching.
  6. Heard on radio he was a hbp in the 9th 1 or 2 outs away from perfect game. Kinda an about time having a ML moment after all the draft hype.
  7. Did Arcia ever have a 3walk game?. Urias will be batting 2nd here soon with the OB skills that may turn in to BA skills. Especially if he's in front of Yelich. Another blown loss on Woodruff pitching game. Tough loss. Hader going more than just the 9th might have kept the W for Woody. I imagine Counsell when the decision to keep Williams from high leverage innings for now, planned the 8th for Suter all along. Hader 9th for a save or Perdomo 9th when behind. Not taking the in game meaning of the moment. 3rd QS by Woodruff 0 wins to show for it up 1Run vs division rival. Nah not the best rp in baseball over the last 3years because hes my 9th inning giy and Id have to rest him for tomorrow....well he didn't pitch tonight did he?
  8. Baseball has a brand new Super Star. Trout's time is over. Seen this in a twitter comment, lets just leave you with the highlight and a page that breaks this down. https://www.google.com/amp/s/ftw.usatoday.com/2021/04/braves-ronald-acuna-jr-speed-on-grounder-fans-in-awe/amp And he has hit a 456ft bomb to go along with at least 3 other HRs. 2 off Scherzer. Not to mention this play after a triple. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/watch-braves-ronald-acuna-jr-scores-from-third-on-a-pop-up-to-second-baseman/amp/ Seen another highlight of him throwing Bryce Harper out at 2nd on what seemed would be a double. Another highlight racing back to warning track leap and snag a ball destined to hit the wall for a double. We're 10/11 games in to this season.
  9. Is he a teen? Or is he a find from a Panamanian league and say 19-22? Just looks all around the players appear older physically and in stature.
  10. Just unlucky timing for Kneble. You had a deadline to tender him or not. Heres what was happening at that time. Covid Vaccines werent rolling out. Just a rumor to be coming by some sources. Fans weren't known to be allowed in the stands. Multiple teams made some moves selling off assets during this time. Flash forward to late January, you've got vaccines rolling out. NFL has allowed a percentage of fans in the stands. So when Wong and JBJ are added it's made with knowledge that there will be tickets sold boosting revenue to pay those salaries. If it were as easy as saying "take back" come February and allowed to take Kneble back, Stearns and co probably would. The outlook of things start of Dec and financials of 2020 being tallied vs the outlook of things at the beginning of Feb is drastically different. Like Jimmy Nelson, Brewers were dealt a bad hand. Also keeping Nelson. You had to give him every opportunity to rebound. Imagine the talk if the team released him and he proceeded to pitch 2019 looking lime a ToR pitcher again? I remember vividly videos of him pitching the few times he was on the mound during rehab making batters look ridiculous, and he must still do that today having 6ks on the 10outs hes recorded. He just cant replicate that as often as needed to return to an elite looking star on the rise.
  11. I absolutely love it when posters share twitter(dont partake) then scrolling below the post and seeing other "tweets" Ron Acuna beat out a routine grounder to SS. And another He raced home on a pop-up that was caught about 20feet in to centerfield. Granted a double pump on SS throw to first and 2b caught popup running away from the plate, that still is game-changing stuff that baseball needs in the game. I just became a fan of a non-Brewer player that also non WI native.
  12. Im not 100pct on Feyereisen. 3 fly ball outs. I dont remember him striking anybody out now in last 3 appearances, is that right? Maybe there was 1. Up 4 this game so pitch to contact is a ploy. 3outs though 1 to go
  13. Um how does 1 ground in to a double play when runners were on 2nd and 3rd? Seems more like a groundout and a baserunning blunder? Did guy on 2nd break for 3rd but guy on 3rd not break home? Just kinda sucks for that dude if they stat him with a gidp. Remember when Matt Carpenter was a Brewer killer?
  14. The one thing when posts about how garbage comparable his bat is to Arcia. No Urias can battle and work a lot more walks. There's still a lot of dreaming on him. Start batting .270s and higher hell have a 330splus OB.
  15. 3M a year I believe. Thats fairly low even for a RP FA. There was/is a high upside to value for low downside at bad. I say this on other 5 pitch using pitchers. Find the 2 or 3 that work and save the other 2 when needed those 3 arent working.
  16. Up all these runs and hes up there fighting to paint outside corners. All three outs on his Changeup. Only threw 2 others. Should have just been pitching for contact. Up over 20pitches for 1IP.
  17. Yep. Had him bat then removed him? Up 6 isn't this the Suter perfect scenario to maybe just close out the game rest RPs?
  18. Nice. I was thinking 76MPH? This is either going to look ugly on next swing and miss, or go for a hit(HR even better) went to the same pitch 1 time too many at 76MPH
  19. Hey I mention Garcia has had a lot of xBA balls hit turn in to outs nice to see 2XBhs for him
  20. Seeing the error on gameday, did the ball skip on 1b bag? Only one camera angle and by time see Hiura the ball has gone under his glove. At same time ump has arm pointing fair ball and it's only about 3-4 feet past the bag. Any other camera angle that shows where ball bounced before passing Hiura? Do find his body position/fielding technique rather terrible. Looked like an OF running up to scoop a ball and launch a throw home...when 1st base was 4feet away to step on. Just keep the ball in front of you Keston!
