I'll take Garza and Davis/Reynolds platoon any day of the week.
-
Anyone honestly think the OP is true?
-
If this is true, have to think Doug has a trade in mind for a 1B or something... Maybe we're trading Thornburg for Ike now? But damn I could really get behind this rotation Gallardo Lohse Garza Estrada Peralta
-
I agree... Wouldn't suprise me to see him in Milwaukee come Opening Day.
-
So does this mean, we'll see a Reynolds/Overbay platoon at 1B this year?
-
Lyle Overbay signed to a Minor League deal today... Can we assume a Reynolds/Overbay platoon at 1B this year?
-
Forget what I said about Ike... So here is my lineup with Reynolds. Segura Gomez Braun Ramirez Lucroy Reynolds Davis Gennett I really wanna flip Luc and GoGo... I think Johnny would be a great #2 hitter but I really like his RBI ability in the 5 hole... But on the other side, I LOVE the speed threat of Segura & Gomez at 1-2 hitting in front of Braun & Ramirez. This lineup would be very well be the #1 offense in the NL like in 2012... It would not surprise me one bit.
-
I could get behind Reynolds as our 1B this year... Could be a really nice lineup. Segura Gennett Braun Ramirez Lucroy Gomez Reynolds Davis OR Segura Gomez Braun Ramirez Lucroy Reynolds Davis Gennett
-
I actually really like our Rotation this year! If they pitch like the last 4 months of the 2013 season we could be in for something special.
-
Sounds more and more likely that Ike stays in NY... Scared to say, looks like we're gonna see Francisco making 1B again this year... I'm disappointed to say the least!!!
-
Christ... Just get us someone other then Francisco at 1B this year!!!
-
I agree... I would love to see Middlebrooks at 3B... Acquiring him would give us a very nice and young INF... Middlebrooks-Segura-Gennett-Morris(If he pans out).
-
I'd be good with Carp as our 1B in 2014. He could do well at Miller Park.
-
Butler would make our lineup very RHed... But I would gladly take a Braun/Ramirez/Butler 3-4-5. I would imagine it's gonna take a bunch to acquire Billy tho.
-
I found this article... http://www.bratsandbaseball.com/3/post/2013/12/could-daric-barton-be-the-answer.html Not sure if Barton is available... But what's everyones thoughts on Daric being our 1B in 2014.
-
An article on MLBTradeRumors mentioned the Brewers as the only team to not sign someone to a Major League deal... Doug better have some damn good ideas up his sleeve to have done nothing at this point to improve our team!!!
-
Great post... I never really thought about all of that until you said it... Guess we'll see what happens.
-
Mets can scratch off one more potential suitor for Ike Davis... Pirates acquired 1B Chris McGuiness from Texas. Sandy just lower your asking price for Ike and this would be done already! What's wrong with Hellweg or Pena!
-
My lineup is going to include Ike Davis... Who I believe will be the Brewers 1B come Opening Day. Segura Gomez Braun Ramirez Lucroy Ike Davis Khris Davis Gennett/Weeks
-
Mets, Brewers still talking about Ike Davis... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/12/mets-still-talking-ike-davis-with-brewers-os-pirates.html I still believe our Opening Day 1B will be Ike Davis.
-
I'm really hoping that Doug is still after Ike... And doesn't settle for a Michael Young/Juan Francisco platoon at 1B.
-
Hopefully this is just to get the Mets to lower the price on Ike.
-
Not sure what this means, if anything... But I read on MLB Trade Rumors the Pirates signed Ishikawa to a minor-league deal.
-
From the article on JS Online... Yea Doug definitely isn't gonna do anything.
-
Yup...I have no doubt. This offseason has been pretty frustrating so far. Yea it sure has... I honestly don't think Doug will do anything about 1B. God I hope I'm wrong!
