    With Escobar clearly going to be the SS in 2010 anyway, I'm 100% on board with dealing JJ now for pitching and bringing up Escobar now. I know we will not loose anything on defense with Alcides, probably gain some. And as for offense Escobar might not have 8 HR but I bet he can hit better or at least the same that JJ is right now.

    Al don't forget he has fantastic speed. If he works at the craft he could steal a lot of bases with that kind of speed. When they finally do bring him up I would like to see him hit leadoff at some point.

    And of course, the 2 run shot he hit last night was the first time that restaurant had been hit in the new Yankee Stadium. Only Branyan.....

    I feel you hawing, this thread is my guilty pleasure. I know it hurts to see Russell doing all this for another team, but just getting a Branyan fix makes me happy and puts a smile on my face.

    I just traded Curtis Granderson for Adam Jones straight up. Good trade? I think it is pretty even. Granderson with more HR and SB but Jones has a better average, OBP, SLG and runs.

    Once again Casey, way too close to take with 2 strikes. Well I chalk this loss up mostly to the terrible outing by McClung, but they wasted a few prime opportunities.

    Yeah that second strike one was filthy. I have to hand it to Smith, he gave up that gopher granny but he ate some innings and saved the bullpen for now.

    Anyone been to a Rattlers game this season know how Lawrie is about signing? Does they sign before the game near the dugout at all? Going to the game tomorrow night.

    There is just too much uncertainty with the 4 starters not named Gallardo. They could be pretty good or really, really bad. Its a toss up. I wish we just had a solid 2 or even a 3 behind Yo.

    It's kind of funny. Way to throw a strike on that pitch Smith when he knew you would throw one right down the middle.

    That is a great point, it seems last year he had some pretty decent starts but they all were at most 5+ inning because his pitch count would be ridiculous.

    I think McClung is good....in the bullpen. He is clearly not a starter. I hope this was his last start. As for Hart, he just seems to be a human rally killer. He just always seems to come up with a couple on and 1 out and hit into a DP.

    That is why we need to get another starter. McClung is much better out of the pen.

    Here in Milwaukee they are not showing the game on MLB Network. Instead I am seeing Yankees vs Mariners. Sabathia pitching and down 0-3 in the 2nd.

    I actually do believe Doug that Escobar and Gamel are untouchable. And like Al said Lawrie would also seem to be in that group. I am totally okay with dealing Cain or Salome. Salome especially since we also have LuCroy in the system at catcher. If we have to trade a shortstop I would much rather move Hardy then Escobar.

    The MLB Network broadcast will not be blacked out will it? I hope not, looking forward to hearing Matty V and Plesac call the game.
