  1. The sandpaper won't ruin the texture of the ball?
  2. At this point I would love Mulder to come in on a minor league deal and see what he can do in the spring. Or like mothershipconnection said bring him in on a deal just like Jeff Weaver.
  3. I'm glad FS Wisconsin is going to broadcast it for us that didn't get to go. Looking forward to seeing it next week Saturday.
  4. Yeah, I was totally cool with it. And now I will probably look to trade a Braun ball I have that is not sweet spotted and not personalized.
  5. If only Sheets and his agent would have been smart enough to accept the arbitration offer from Milwaukee. He would be better off and so would our rotation. I guess it's just water under the bridge now.
  6. I have finally come to the realization that Ben Sheets career in Milwaukee is done. I thought most of this offseason there was a chance, but all the comments lately from Doug coupled with the interest the Rangers/Mets/Yankees have shown in Ben, it's over. Sad, but true. Sheets is not even an option on my mind anymore.
  7. That is what I figured. But as far as I know only Braun was doing it. I told the women in line that took the voucher and money that I didn't care, I didn't plan on selling it anyway.
  8. I was all about getting Bush signed on a ball. But then since my friends and I got there early enough I went for the Braun line and got Braun on a ball. Couldn't resist. But I think my highlight was getting my picture with Doug Melvin. Also just by luck passing by Willie Randolph and saying hello and welcoming him to Milwaukee for which he was thankful. For some reason they had Braun personalize everything. Not sure why and I didn't complain since I have no intention of selling my Braun ball. He did sweet spot it though. Braun's line went really slow and it seems mostly because he is so personal with everyone chit chatting and posing for pictures. Braun is such a class act. 9. This year, after 25 years of using Avg as a category, we are dropping it in favor of OBP. How crazy would it if you just used OPS? That would be interesting. But just using OBP and not AVG is pretty crazy as well.
  10. I really liked all the Michael/Dwight stuff in the car and at Prince Paper. The Swank stuff was okay, but nothing great. Overall like most solid episode that was still my favorite and best thing I watched on TV this week.
  11. Counsell for 1 year and $1 mill is fine by me. Solid veteran left handed batter of the bench who can drop down a bunt, hit and run, take a walk and can play 3 infield positions. Teams need a guy like that.
  12. I kind of have to agree with this comment. I like to get autographs for my personal collection because I love baseball and think its cool stuff to put on display in your office or den. I never sell any of my stuff to try to make money. I like going to signings at card show signings, when Jeff's has them, during BP at the park or the On Deck type of events and that is about it. I have gone to the players lot twice but I doubt I will do that again because you see all the people there that go like every game and hence the players don't even want to sign. I think it's cool that BHF got all that stuff signed at the airport, but I would never go to a hotel or airport for autographs. That to me is just a little overboard. Just my opinion.
  13. BHF, I like Dave Bush. He pitches for my favorite team and is pretty good. Is he CC or Sheets? No, but he is a good starting pitcher who I still think has his best years ahead of him. Much like when I paid for the Russell Branyan signing last year it is not always about how much it is worth to a card shop or memorabilia store but what it is worth to the owner of the item. Who knows, Bush could go out this year and have a career year 18 wins ERA under 4, it has happened before to pitchers like him. But either way I will be happy with my Bush signed ball. matt, you pretty much said it all.
  14. I would have to say that I love this deal. It seems to favor the Brewers much more. Especially if Prince has a season more like 2007 then 2008. And even if it is like 2008 it is still a good deal. And it still leaves the door open to trade him after this season or after 2010 before he hits free agency. Good job Mark, Doug and Gord.
  15. Yeah but I want a ball signed. And by the time you pay the shipping to him and on a box back is it worth it when I can just pay $10 on Saturday?
  16. I'm a jerk and own a Mac and am proud of it. ewizabeff in another thread told me about Open Office which is a free program to download and has all the features of MS Office and allows you to use the files on Mac and PC's. It is great.
  17. I'm not planning on getting their till probably 9 or 9:30. But I'm going for Dave Bush who I doubt is gonna have to high of a demand.
  18. Totally forgot about them. Don't care that much actually about losing Maddux and Trenni. Jack Z on the other hand.....
  19. I just recently switched from a PC laptop to a Mac. I love my Mac. The only thing that took me so long to get one was the price, but now that I can afford it and coupled with the fact my PC laptop which was a Toshiba had the CD/DVD drive take a dump, it was the perfect time.
  20. Sabathia, Sheets and now Powell. What a painful offseason it has been. I do wish Jim all the best and will really miss him, listening to him an Uke was/has always been a treat. I just wonder now who will replace him.
  21. Maybe after we get Fielder, Hart and Weeks arby stuff done with, Doug will see where we are with payroll and go back to Ben and make him an offer? I can only hope. It's not my money but if it was I would offer him 1 year $10 mill right now.
  22. I'm sure it will. I would assume Braun and Fielder tickets will sellout first. Then probably Hardy, Uecker and Hoffman. Just my opinion. I feel pretty safe getting Dave Bush and Gamel/Salome.
  23. McClung should be pretty solid in 09'. In the rotation or out of the pen. Glad they got the deal done.
  24. He is getting more then Braun, right?
  25. I also share these thoughts. But it now seems just about 100% certain Ben Sheets career as a Brewer is over. And that is sad.
