  1. Looks like a Ned Yost Sunday lineup from years past. Glad to see Hinske in there for the Braves. I have a friend from Menasha where Hinske is from and he and a bunch of people from Menasha are coming down for the game tonight. I'm going to the game tomorrow, hope Braun is back in then.
  2. Actually I am in luck, our league decided we are not announcing our keepers till the end of the season. So yeah, I think I am going to keep Jimenez over Haren. And actually might trade Haren for SS help since I also have Garza, Lirano, Richard and Millwood as starters.
  3. That really shocks me, especially since they have the 5 county half priced ticket deals right now. I took advantage of that and will be at the park for the day game on Wednesday with a couple of friends.
  4. Man, I really wish Cain had been healthy all season. I really think they would have gave him the audition till Gomez came back. Gomez has played pretty well this season so this kind of stinks. Oh well, it should not be a long stint.
  5. Yup, that is why I hate when we get down. After they get down they sometimes go through the motions and just give at bats away. I know I seen a stat the other day that they are way over .500 when they score first and have only won 1or 2 games when the other team scores first. Crazy.
  6. I would guess Cappy is not close to coming up. He has only thrown a few innings at A+ ball. I would think he would need awhile in AAA before they even considered bringing him up. IMO.
  7. I'd rather have Parra starting than Davis. To me they seem to be the same pitcher, Parra just throws harder. They both walk a ton of guys and nibble. But yes, Parra has better stuff and if he would ever get the most of his talent he could be pretty good.
  8. Well said crewcrazy. It's a good glass half full point of view. And we did just win 5 of 6. I guess the most frustrating thing is that we seem to get pounded at home and when this team gets down, they seem to just go through the motions.
  9. I think Davis will get at least a few more starts. If they do release him who do you throw into the rotation? I'm not really that excited about Suppan or Parra taking Davis spot.
  10. I love Ken Grriffey, Jr. one of my all time favorite players. But he is done. He has been for two years now, maybe three. He should just hang em up.
  11. Every time Doug Davis starts I feel nervous. Like he might blow up and go only a couple of innings. Good thing the Braves don't score many runs, Heyward is not in the lineup and we actually seem to be able to hit Hanson a little bit, at least Braun and Fielder have.
  12. I think the Braves have a good lineup. There guys are just having bad starts. The Braves were my wild card pick before the season starts and I still think they might do that. They have the pitching, just got to get the guys off to bad starts rolling. Of course I hope that does not start with this series vs the Brewers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. I am excited for what Capuano has done so far this season and it gets me thinking he could maybe help out the big club, but then I remember he is doing it at A+ ball. I'm interested to see whow he does in Nashville soon.
  14. I sure would like to get Oswalt, but I am also not sure I want to mortgage the farm. Tough decision, I guess it depends what players would be in the deal. It's tempting because a rotation of Gallardo, Oswalt, Wolf, Bush and Narveson would be pretty solid.
  15. I agree SoCal, Macha needs to use Coffey like the Cubs used Marmol a few years ago. Bring him in the 6th, 7th or 8th whenever the biggest situation comes up and we needs outs. Hoffman can have the 9th, but before that no one should have set roles.
  16. Coshun is fine on the pre and post games shows, but he is not good at play by play. I'm a big fan of Anderson, really enjoy listening to him. He's good and that is why he got the gig on the side with TBS.
  17. Whatever happens, I'm rooting for Capuano to succeed. I just don't see him making an impact at the big league level this year. If he does I would assume it would mean a couple of our starters get hurt, that would be bad. I think it would be nice to see Cappy pitch great at AAA and stay healthy all season. Then next season maybe he earns a spot on the big club.
  18. If A-Rod didn't know who Braden was before he should now. Only the 19th pitcher EVER to throw a perfect game. Congrats Braden, probably a lot of celebrating going on in the 209 tonight.
  19. I can't believe that after that 1-3 start in San Diego the Brewers came back to go 6-4 on the trip. Hope they can have a good homestand now. I'm going to the game Wednesday, got seats behind home plate like 20 rows back and Gallardo is on the mound. Can't wait.
  20. Loved the Detlef Schrempf appearance.
  21. What an awesome game. Caught bits and pieces of it while hanging out at Dave & Busters. Gerut isn't Molitor or Yount, but he sure isn't Chad Moeller! And wow, what a shot by Braun. He is in such a zone right now.
  22. Well put twobrewers. No need to spend money on guys like Riske and Hawkins when we have good young arms that are cheaper and proably as effective if not more. I am glad to have Stetter back. Now Parra won't have to try to be that lefty specialist.
