  1. Pretty sure Coulter was on a few after his Lutz-like batting line in Rookie Ball.
  2. My low-ranking source at Miller Park tells me buzz around the office is dominoes are ready to fall this week. Practically a “Now or never” feel in the air but chance of something significant is high.
  3. I'm old enough to remember when these exact same posters thought Orlando Arcia was an overrated bust.
  4. Holy hell that is a stacked group.
  5. Best part about Gabby Garcia is his batting line actually slightly improved with the jump to R+.
  6. Modern medicine is outrageously effective but this sounds very serious. Julio is in my thoughts today. I hope he is ok.
  7. So much focus is on Corey's hitting stats. Don't forget the guy is a valuable fielder and base runner too. Plus by all accounts, he is a great teammate and competitor. This is still a fantastic prospect.
  8. Stokes is basically doing what we thought Ray would do. Still time for Ray to get hot and I expect he will.
  9. It used to be easier to track the significant amateur signing bonuses in my head but the shear quantity of talent in the Brewers system has made it impossible. Here is a list I made. Can anyone add to it or fill in the missing bonuses? Player Signing Bonus Corey Ray $4,125,000 Keston Hiura $4,000,000 Gilbert Lara $3,200,000 Trent Clark $2,700,000 Taylor Jungmann $2,525,000 Kodi Medeiros $2,500,000 Tristen Lutz $2,352,000 Phil Bickford $2,333,800 Jake Gatewood $1,830,000 Monte Harrison $1,800,000 Luis Ortiz $1,750,000 Larry Ernesto $1,700,000 Clint Coulter $1,675,000 Lewis Brinson $1,625,000 Caden Lemons $1,450,000 Lucas Erceg $1,386,900 Carlos Rodriguez $1,355,000 Devin Williams $1,350,000 Marcos Diplan $1,300,000 Nate Kirby $1,250,000 Chad McClanahan $1,200,000 Cody Ponce $1,108,000 Trey Supak $1,000,000 Isan Diaz $808,600 Mario Feliciano $800,000 Pablo Abreu $800,000 Nash Walters $800,000 Franly Mallen $800,000 Nicholas Pierre $800,000 Ernesto Martinez Jr. $800,000 Tucker Neuhaus $771,000 Jean Carmona $725,000 Braden Webb $700,000 Jorge Lopez $690,000 KJ Harrison $666,600 Payton Henry $550,000 Jose Sibrian $550,000 Corbin Burns $536,400 Adrian Houser $530,100 Tyrone Taylor $523,600 Michael Reed $500,000 Francis Tolentino $500,000 Brendan Murphy $500,000 Nick Egnatuk $500,000 Max Lazar $475,000 Demi Orimoloye $450,000 Zack Brown $401,700 Taylor Williams $400,000 Troy Stokes $400,000 Victor Maria $375,000 Wei-Chung Wang $350,000 Jeicor Cristian $340,000 Jordan Yamamoto $330,000 Andres Melendez $325,000 Brett Phillips $300,000 Jacob Nottingham $300,000 Francis Casado $300,000 Josh Uhen $250,000 Eric Hanhold $250,000 Yhonathan Barrios $250,000 Nick Ramirez $240,000 Bowden Francis $235,000 Devin Hairston $210,000 Francisco Thomas $200,000 George Iskenderian $200,000 Karsen Lindell $171,100 Jayson Rose $164,900 Nate Griep $150,000 Kyle Wren $150,000 Dustin Houle $150,000 Daniel Castillo $140,000 Freddy Peralta $137,000 Johel Atencio $130,000 Blake Lillis $127,814 Zach Clark $125,000 Daniel Brown $120,000 Jake Drossner $120,000 Trevor Morrison $110,000 Ryan Cordell $100,000 David Goforth $100,000 Josh Pennington $90,000 Alwinson Valdez $80,000 Alberis Perez $60,000 Juan Frias $50,000 Josh Hader $40,000 Blake Allemand $40,000 Garrett Cooper $30,000 Jose Arteaga $20,000 Leoner Colina $15,000 Dallas Carroll $10,000 Alec Bettinger $10,000 Cristiam Sierra $10,000 Davison Gonzalez $10,000 Luis Valderrama $10,000 Brandon Woodruff Mauricio Dubon Brent Suter Jon Perrin Gabriel Garcia Joantgel Segovia Je'Von Ward Thomas Jankins Luis Aviles
  10. Yes! Gatewood, Clark and Stokes are all within the Carolina League top 30 in run creation. Diaz and Ray may get there as well with another hot week or so. Erceg has been ridiculous lately. They are all very age appropriate. People should be pumped about the Mudcat hitters not whining that they have low batting averages. All look primed for huge July and August numbers after working though totally normal growing pains. Now Monte is there too! The group of prospects at Carolina is better than some entire orgs (Marlins, Giants).
  11. Clark is also creating about 20% more runs than the average Carolina League hitter while being much younger than the league average player. Trent is a hell of a prospect.
  12. Hairston singled in his first AB. Add Huira and Harrison to the mix and T-Rats should be better in 2nd half
  13. I think we end up with Ward and Layer before the deadline. Would be an incredible haul.
  14. Uh no. I'm sure they have a much more detailed plan than that.
  15. I know high school stats aren't going to provide much correlation, but I'm alittle perplexed that a above slot, corner infield, top-5 round pick can only hit .265 with 1 home run against high school competition. For sure. He did slide a bit this spring after that performance. Brewers are betting on the tools. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't see game action this season while they iron out his mechanics.
  16. They had a predraft workout on Friday at MP but I was told no 'top prospects' were there.
  17. You said they are all busts when it's clearly untrue. Absurd statement. And the fact that you seem to ignore age and league context in your player evals is inexcusable when the information is readily available.
  18. Every single one of those players has had success and most are having good seasons as we speak. Injuries have derailed the 2017 season (Williams) and careeer (Roache, Neuhaus) of the others.
  19. FWIW, I guess their big workout was today. My source said none of the 'top prospects' were in attendance.
  20. Usually the Brewers have a predraft workout at Miller Park a few days before the draft. Typically there are some big names. Javy Baez put on a show one year. Anyone heard anything?
  21. Trent Clark just picked up his league leading 9th OF assist according to Greg Young
  22. We are lucky to have prospects the caliber of Ray and Clark. Both are tremendously valuable and both project to have impact ceilings in the majors.
  23. wRC+ provides way more context than plain old OPS or OPS+.
