  1. Welcome back home Wes! Wisconsin has missed you! I remember in high school watching him play at state. He was year older than me & he had the Green Memorial Jersey, headband, and was #23. Had the whole LeBron James thing going on. Amazing to watch. Being a Marquette fan more so than Wisconsin, loved those McNeil, Matthews, Dom James teams. Think he brings a lot to table off bench. Insurance as well for DDV & Brown.
  2. When I went back to grad school for teaching, I meet a fellow coach & he told me about his older brother who died at 28 in the gym working out. He was an Olympic qualifier for the Irish National Wrestling Team. Was as fit as they come. Would never have seen it coming but suffered a fatal heart attack. Heart disease is scary. Almost no real symptoms until it is too late. Like others have said, hate to speculate what happened since there is very little information out. That’s two younger pitchers they lost now. Tough for the franchise to go through again. Prayers out to his family
  3. I’m just excited to have Lopez bros together. They are two very unique guys. Brook is more the quiet bookwarm & perfectionist, Robin is the more aggressive & talkative one but it is hilarious listening to them jab on each other all the time. They are very close but love to joke around. Think it will make locker room even better. As a player, Robin is very good at what he does. He is tough & defends the basket. He isn’t the scorer Brook is but good guy off the bench to have.
  4. Embid, Horford, Simmons, and even Harris to extent are not real big floor spacers. Harris is solid but not a guy you overly worry about & Horford can step out on occasion but they will only give you on average 2-3 3FG combined a game. Embid & Simmons create zero spacing. Richardson is improving but still only a career 36% shooter from 3. Think the Bucks will be able to defend rim & force them to take shots they don’t want to. Force the 3 ball.
  5. Interesting that Sixers got Horford. Leadership a big plus. Yet you really can’t play Joel & him together. Butler & Reddick being gone really hurt them a guard. You have Simmons who is pretty much their PG.
  6. Not allowed to have George Hill on the roster under any circumstances if they stretch his $1m cap hit from his previous contract. Difference of $666,667 or whatever, so the premise is right. Honestly not sure how switching to non-Bird rights affects anything, but not gonna take this person's word for it if they don't know about the rule I mentioned above. Regardless to how it got done, Horst figured something out. Huge part of his job is fully understanding how to work the CBA guidelines/rules. Be interesting to see what he managed to do.
  7. And everything he showed in college and his athletic ability, his bounce. Maybe the Bucks think he's going to be a really good player and Sterling Brown can bridge the gap until he finds his footing. What I really-really hope we don't see is a Hill/Bledsoe backcourt. That was why I liked Brogdon. He could play the point, but he was bigger and more physical. Think Hill is too important off the bench to bring energy & scoring. A Hill/Bledsoe doesn’t make sense for me. If they go Middleton at 3, I rather see Sterling start at 2.
  8. Right there with you HighandTight. Coolhand his making me dislike players I should like in similar way Clancy has soured me on many prospects.... like how I smile that Roegnar has struggled since coming back when I really shouldn’t be happy about that.
  9. Horst won GM of the year & in his short time like Stearns has earned my trust. I have feeling there will be some more moves coming VIA trade to reshape roster a little bit. Horst has 3 more picks to use and he has shown willingness to move them. Think it is critical for DJ & Sterling to take another step forward this season. Both have shown real growth. Donte & Frazier need to make a year two leap. As of now: Lopez Wilson Giannis Middleton Bledsoe Bench Hill, Ersan, Pat Sterling & Frazier Need to find way to deepen that depth. Pau Gasol is old but has repeatedly stated he’d love to be back with Milwaukee. For cheap vet deal, think he could be great in that Jason Terry player/coach role. He won’t give you 20+ minutes a game but could help off bench & give another big
  10. Coolhandluke furious Hill didn’t get 19 million to stay with the Bucks and was made free agent..... Bucks get him back at 9.75 million a year..... Why I’m happy Horst is GM & not a fan reacting on emotions
  11. Middleton is a year older & a high volume scorer that Brogdon simply is not. I love Malcolm & he is as efficient of a role player as you will find but defense Middleton is about equal or better & he is the volume shooter you need to wing for Giannis & Bledsoe. He is their poor man Klay Thompson. Bucks will miss that far more. In this market, not sure what you’d even really get for that extra 15. A player like Brogdon is getting 21.5 million on the market. Vucevic got 25 a year. Bogdanovic 18 million, Rozier got 19 million, Terrence Ross got 17.5 million. Reddick got a mere 13 million along with Thad Young.
  12. Bucks simply have a tough salary cap situation. Middleton was going to get the money somewhere so it’s not overpaying if that is going rate for a player. You are worth what the market will give you. Middleton, Lopez, Bledsoe all getting locked up are all important & hard to cry going cheap just because we didn’t plunge into the tax. This isn’t baseball, there is a lot of strategy involved working around the cap. Bucks were a darn good team pre Mirotic & Hill. They were darn good team minus Brogdon & Mirotic down the stretch. I hated losing Brogdon, I have said all season he is 2nd most important guy but 21 million a year with our cap moving forward just wasn’t realistic. Bucks get 3 picks that I suspect we will package & use as maneuvering chips. Are we better? No. Are we worse, a little depending on next moves. Hopefully Hill comes back. He is 34 & should be hunting championships vs money at this point in career. Knicks, Bulls are two of Top other rumors for Hill and neither is winning anytime in future. Sixers got worse.... they were hit harder than Bucks even with max deal to Harris (complaining about Middleton max deal? Rather be forced to pay Tobias even more?) Raptors will be worse.... Leonard is not replaceable for them Nets clearly got better if KD can play at all next season. Kyrie isn’t a leader & don’t think he is that much of upgrade over what Russell was becoming. Jordan can rebound & dunk but is removed from prime. Celtics think got upgrade with Kemba over Irving just from leadership alone. But if Hortford is gone... think that is a lose. Overall, the East as a whole hasn’t done much to get better outside of Nets. Even with Mirotic, Brogdon, maybe Hill gone. Don’t think we lose much ground as a leader in the east.
  13. I don’t think Arcia deserves to be sent down. Proven defense, still 24, bat has been okay... most season siting around .700 OPS. Has his highest BB% of career (8%) only Ks 20% I personally think it’s a really dumb idea to just send down guys playing solid baseball to see what a prospect (who is same age) can do. Maybe if you are the O’s & desperate to find any hope at all but not on a contending team. This isn’t The Show 19’ franchise mode. It’s reality. Love to see Dubon get a look and some ABs but not by sending down Arcia or Hiura to do so. Let him have Perez’s utility role. Not as many at bats but gets feet wet.
  14. I think we are forgetting Michael Bennett was Olympic sprinter fast. His burst & speed is something we will probably never see again at any position at Wisconsin or maybe Big 10. He was one of the fastest in college history clocking in a record 4.13 in the 40-yard dash, the second fastest in NFL history behind only Bo Jackson who ran a 4.12. His flaw was he had no patience and would far to often beat lineman to the hole. He only had 1 year to shine due to Dayne and he went on to become 1st round pick in that 1 year. He even made a pro bowl in NFL but Wisconsin never talk about him & overlook him. Let Bennett start 3 years like Taylor & Gordon we’re able to.....or 4 like Dayne & Davis had....or like Ball & White with 3-4 years to get ton of carries... and we have a much greater debate. Bennett just happened to be behind the best RB in college history who got 30 touches a game. For anyone who has forgot his explosiveness [sarcasm]Only guys he couldn’t out run we’re the cops after a burglary![/sarcasm] For those forgot he was sent to prison for 5 years in 2017.
  15. Worst part is that he states in the description that this "fan interference" made him miss a Travis Shaw home run. That's like missing a chance to see a real, live Yeti or something like that. Bart’s video making fun of Bill while at a Milkman game was pure gold! If you haven’t seen it, it’s on his Twitter page. I like Bart & Chuck a lot. Both are local guys from Fondy area. Always listened to Winkler on K107 before he made the switch. Outside of them, I don’t bother listening to the Fan anymore.
  16. Clayton Andrews is a stud! How many high quality relievers double as a lead off CF hitting over .300? I like this! Him only being 5’6 may be least interesting thing about
  17. Small will be going to Appleton after a few weeks in Arizona to get ready! Going to have to get up their for a few of his starts!
  18. Graham “Savior” Mertz: “Hold my Gatorade, I got this”
  19. Looking ahead for most of the rest of the top 10, we should be able to get at right around slot. Hamilton & Miller are the only 2 overslot candidates I see. Love Hamilton getting into the mix. Could have been 1-3rd round guy if not for injuries. Could be steal.
  20. No Rodriquez is pretty surprising.... only had 20 abs however last year in Arizona
  21. Yeah did a double take when I saw that last night. Fry has a little bit of Lyle Overbay in him! From my writing, it may come off as I dislike Fry but I think he is a solid player. Older guys crush Rookie ball & A ball all the time then flameout by A+ or AA. Until he is not the oldest guy (or one of them) on a team, I can’t give a real assessment. As for Super Mario I think way his power is ticking up right now, at 20 years old, I think 20 Hrs a year wouldn’t be a stretch at all as he continues matures physically. Same with average, he is a good hitter. If he stays at catcher, even if he can hit .260-.270 that’d be great. He needs to make more contact though. With more power has come more Ks. Since drafted, his bat has been his ticket.
  22. If Fry’s bat was more advance than Super Mario’s, Mario would not be putting up arguably just as good of numbers in a higher level that is traditionally more pitcher friendly while being 3 years younger. People soured on Mario after his age 19 at Carolina was a lost season due to injuries. Was league all-star at Wisconsin at 18 & started out great before wearing down as season went on. Outside of Bb% being a little higher & a much better K%, I really don’t think Fry is on Feliciano’s level. Maybe if he was 23 vs 20 and back in Wisconsin, Feliciano’s Bb & K% would be on par with Fry. Young guys traditionally K at a higher rate when pushed aggressively. Turang is exception to rule. I strongly doubt Henry will remain more 3TO type. Believe he was minor league gold glove catcher last year & D may be more advanced than offense currently but he flashes great potential with bat. Again, he is aggressively placed & still younger for league. Carolina League is not great for offense, look it up. Carolina over the two years for Brewers, hitters have averaged .237 with OPS of .690.... so far this season, Mudcats are in middle to top of pack right in that range again. Henry is sitting at .243 with .723 OPS and 107 wRC+. His walks are way low compared to career average at 4.3% last year was 9.6%. His Ks have grown every year & he will need to fix that. ISO continues to be strong.
  23. Lutz with a big day! Now batting over .250 despite nightmare April!
  24. Nomar was an unsigned 5th round pick for us in 1991. You really can find that that list everywhere. A 16th round flyer on a 3/4 round talent out of high school that dropped due to signability could turn out to be a Rodon or a complete bust when he comes back out. One of my buddies was drafted out of high school & he decided to head of to his D1 scholarship for one of the top programs in country. Ended up with multiple surgeries to his shoulder and elbow. Never really stayed on field enough to get 2nd chance. That is the risk everyone of these kids take. Injuries, performance, playing time could a cost them their future. Our 20th round pick last Zabel went on to play football and baseball this year.... got in huge trouble on campus and was arrested. Was drunk, let himself into a girl he knows unlocked dorm room (uninvited), crawled in bed with her. Not sure of details from their except she woke up, rushed out of room, and called the cops. He passed out in the bed and cops arrested him. This happened about a month ago. Not a great start for him improving draft stock.
  25. Feliciano is best pure bat. He’s has been pushed very aggressively. If not for all the injuries last year he could be 20 in AA right now. Coming out of draft, scouts raved about his offensive upside. Defense has grown greatly but still has ability & athleticism to move if needed. Henry appears to be an organization favorite due to defensive work, offensive potential, and gritty work ethic. They continue to rave about him all spring. Fry is good system catcher. Old for every level & could see him eventually cracking an MLB roster as an older journeyman type backup catcher. He’s very valuable with his ability to work with young pitchers & as leader. I’ll never buy in on older guy for league success. Way to early to predict how it will turn out for all them. We drafted more catchers who will be in mix soon as well. Kahle could see Wisconsin this season. Dillard I doubt will ever be a catcher full time. All you are doing is holding back his bat by forcing him to spend most of his time focusing on learning to catch. Been 3 years since he has caught pretty much. Nottingham I think has best profile for everyday catcher as of now. Defense has really grown. Never be a top tier defender but good enough. Struggling this year with bat a bit but think that will always be his ticket.
