  1. If I’m Dodgers I sell off Puig or Kemp & insert Verdugo. I guess when money is endless you don’t need to think that way. I still like Bauer better. Age & he continues to trend up each season. Whatever deal keeps Huira I’m good with
  2. Sad, was one of my favorite guys in front office. Wish him the best
  3. I disagree. I think they both have a future in Milwaukee as the replacements for Thames, Braun, Santana, and Broxton. Ideally, the Crew would work Ray in all three outfield spots and first base, and use Stokes in all three OF spots as well. Ray and Stokes will spend most of 2019 in San Antonio. Braun's deal ends after 2020, when Broxton and Santana will both be pretty expensive in arby - and will have established enough value to land some lottery ticket-type prospects in Adam Lind-esque deals. The big question is if one of them can seize a starting spot, and if the other can be effective as a 4th OF or an OF/1B. I don’t think either can be or would ever be tried at 1B. They are pretty strictly OFs but both can play all 3. I mean Stokes is 5’8 and from perfect game never even worked infield at showcases (unlike many who started off as SS’s). Ray also is not very big & with his athletic ability don’t see 1b. Erceg or Gatewood make much more sense as 4 corner players (1b 3b LF RF). Blows my mind when people act like you can just throw anyone at 1b. Doesn’t work like that. Still high on Tyrone Taylor & hope he gets a look this season to see what he has. Profiles like a real solid 4th OF.
  4. I think price for Realmuto would be too high & for sure Huira or Burnes.... they will get that level talent from someone. Thing I love about Bauer beside you can probably get it done minus either of those guys is that he has grown & improved every year. Each season walks have continued to drop & Ks have continued to climb. He has really started to harness his power stuff. Having a true frontline guy is something we have missed since Greinke
  5. Goes back to value of having Anderson & Davies as well
  6. Bauer Chacin Nelson Burnes Woody/Peralta Could be nice! Not too mention adds flexibility to move Davies or Anderson
  7. Brewers have said repeatly he will be moving back to rotation..... only way he doesn’t is if he has a Woodruff type bad Spring Training & actually Brewers still rolled with Woody regardless last season out of the gate... I don’t know why people have doubts about him being in rotation. Can’t compare to Hader since most scouts thought he’d be moved to pen and he quickly proved to be at an elite level. His value was just higher to team there. Burnes was simply in pen to get MLB innings & there was no need for him in rotation
  8. Young kid coming off a great season at age 24.... looking like he is set for a nice long career here in Milwaukee. Then in one day he lost all that with Yelich & Cain. You have to wonder what that does to confidence of a younger kid. Still was getting good amount of at bats but didn’t look like same player. Like Segura, Gennett, and etc.... sometimes that change of scenery & getting that confidence back is all you need. Kid has yet to even hit prime yet & has already flashed hints of what he could be. He is not a junk player with no value. Not at all. Some team will be getting a very good player
  9. Wonder how expendible Stokes & Ray make each other? Both have pretty similar profiles with Ray being the bigger name with precieved higher ceiling. Scouts tend to love Stokes more than fans. Brewers are clearly very high on him. I don’t think both have place here in the future really.
  10. Man the way some Brewer fans are freaking out about us not making any big trades or signings yet... wonder how they’d feel about trading away one of their 3 aces like Indians.... crazy that Kluber is on market. We heard Bauer rumored a lot last year & discussed him a good amount. He really broke out and still only entering 28. My question is, if you are going to pay the price tag that it would cost, do you go MadBum or Bauer? Bumgarner is only a year older but coming off two seasons he has missed a good amount of time. Bauer seems to be on that late bloomer Arretta climb after looking like a bust early in career. Bauer comes with more PR worry due to how unfiltered he is but you can over look that with his great power stuff. Huira/Burnes to me need to be off table & that could be a deal breaker. Beside pitching, Indians most likely will need to replace Brantley. Broxton/Santana & Woodruff/Peralta would have to be corner stones of the deal. Build around that. I still personally favor keeping Peralta over Woodruff. Younger and more electric stuff. I feel chances are better for him to figure out 1st inning woahs than Woodruff fixing getting shelled 3rd time through a lineup. My best guess would be Santana/Broxton Peralta/Woodruff Zach Brown/ Cory Ray Lower level player
  11. One game short of World Series & people are losing their minds because we haven’t made a deal prior to Winter meetings.... spending doesn’t equal winning. Never has, never will. Just as many small market, develop talent teams win World Series as spend every dime & prospect teams. Royal, Astros, Giants all were mostly homegrown when winning WS. Indians when they choked vs Cubs. Also our system is very young & not overly strong up top. We can continue to gut it until we build it back up. In 2 years if many of these 17-20 year olds hit, we should be in great shape but right now... we don’t have the chips to do much without losing someone who will help Brewers this season (Burnes, Peralta, Huira, Brown in the Burnes role at mid season in pen). We want to compete every year. No farm isn’t a sustainable way to do so. Nor is shelling out outrageous contracts In DS I trust
  12. Scheduling opponents is done so in advance that I don’t see that changing. Like Badgers for over a year already have Notre Dame booked for 2020 & think 2021. The Conference schedule for say Badgers could kill them. Realistically no Big Ten West team may finish in Top 25 so you’d have to scramble to try to find 4-5 non conference games vs Top 25 teams. Considering the negotiations involved & fighting over home field because teams would be two nervous to commit to sets (have to be confident team will annually be a top 25 team. Think system is fine right now. 8 game playoff would bring in more money & more national excitement but I don’t mind the 4 game either.
  13. If he is good enough.... you want him the extra season....Super two is the smart move... Braun was ready as well. Don’t hate the team, hate the league.
  14. I think McDaniels is much more ready than he was a decade ago in Denver plus will not have full control over player personal allowing him to focus on just coaching. With how great his relationship is with Brady & the respect there. I feel that ARod being buddies with Brady would help with ARod buying in to him. He just seems like the natural fit. Riley is the exciting pick but he is very young with no NFL experience. Be interesting to see if he is next McVay or another HC bust. I listened to James Jones yesterday & him saying they should go defense made ton of sense. Build that defense up to an elite level to help ARod & retain Philbon or bring in a young rising QB coach like Kafka or Taylor to innovate offense. I’m a big fan of Kris Richards and think he has chance to be very good head coach
  15. Hmmmmmm..... head scratcher... Not even Winter meetings yet and already people are in panic mode. Yelich & Cain didn’t come until late in off-season. Corbin wasn’t going to happen nor do I think it should have. Goldschmidt didn’t even seem like someone we would target. Why anyone would be irate with DS & MA for not making either move doesn’t seem justified.
  16. Insane to believe Madison is only going to be 29! Guy is just a stud. Future Hall of Fame pitcher who has been consistent whole career. Plus a another nice bat in lineup.... Not sure what the Giants will require but worth exploring
  17. A top ranked offense last year that returned 10 of 11 starters & has leading rusher in college football.... incredible how bad we are. Goes to show what awful QB play & basic play calling will get you. Just looked it up. Mertz is an early enroll. Should be interesting competition this Spring and fall.
  18. Graham Mertz is being the greatest high school QB in Kansas history..... There is at least that. Too bad Idont think he is an early enroll. Losing in this fashion for Axe & streak is most embarrassed I have been in long time. Big 10 champ blowout included. Just pathetic
  19. I don’t mind, like Gatewood but you have to be a 100 lose team to take a chance on a bat like Gatewood. He is not ready. I don’t know how it works with injuries but tore ACL in July/August as a position player probably keeps him out to June. They can’t just add him & throw him on 60 day correct? Bigger story I think is how all those trades last year impact our situation this off season! Handful of those prospects just got added. We would have had some real tough calls
  20. Think the difference is more his load & how he actives his hips & core. Early in career with little kick, he may have just not loaded hips well. Leg kick now may force him to load more
  21. Leg kick is timing. Power directly comes from the power line (upper legs, hip, core) and then wrist/forearm for bat speed. Only thing leg kick can do is improve or wreck positioning to active the lower body. You need body weight loaded on back leg so leg kicks may better shift weight back. I use to bat from an open stance, and my kick was to shift weight back & help coil my body to be more explosive through the ball. I could do that from a closed stance as well but wasn’t as comfortable. Neither are reason for power. If you are using a kick for power, I’m sure the swing is inconsistent & feet aren’t consistently getting to right power position
  22. 1 K. Hiura No 1a & 1b..... this year Keston dominates this spot my wide margin 2 Z. Brown Another one of those college ares with bad numbers and major control issues that the Brewers have corrected just like Woodruff! 3 C. Ray Healthy Ray is a good Ray. If he can take another step this year by cutting down Ks he will be the top notch guy we thought we were drafting. 4. T. Lutz From Day 1 I’ve been in love and he has yet given me me to waver. Rough adjustment at first but got better all season. 5. B. Turang I always think Trae Turner, 100% of the time. Walks, doesn’t K a ton, great speed, good not elite average & power. I’m happy with a Trae 6. A. Ashby By end of 2019, I believe he will be in Burnes, Brown type rapid climb, top prospect status. Guy is good! 7. L Erceg I want Erceg to be guy we all hope he will but has yet to really do it. Flashes the past 2 years but really needs to bust out. 8. M. Dubon Was a stud to start year before ACL, hope he picks up where he left off 9. J Nottingham Calmed down a “few” of the Krush Davis enthusiast who still complain about trade. Hope he gets a real chance this year to roll with Pina 10. M. Diplan Most frustrating pitcher in system to me. Brilliant & terrible back & forth but man, he is still really young! Just throw a few strikes please 11. T. Taylor Finally he bounced back! Splits home & away say we should trade home to Colorado but Crew happy enough to give 40 man spot 12. T. Supek Continues to impress & rise. Think we won Rogers trade just a little bit 13. B. Webb I called Sheets on draft day & when he throws strikes & you see highlights of that 94-95 fb & then mixes in fall off the earth curve..... love it 14. T. Stokes The Michael Brantley of system who gets over looked for playing with the Cain’s of system but he is just an impressive player 15. J. Gatewood As a teacher & coach, hard not to love a kid who works and makes improvements every year..... power is still top notch in system 16. C. Rodriquez Kid is just exciting, think he will blossom into a real get for us. He just has such a great bat. Excited to follow. 17. T. Grisham Figure it out by next ballot or you are gone. Walks only get you so far. Hit the ball 18. P. Henry Thanks to performance & Super Mario’s injuries, think he is lead dog as next wave catching prospect until Mario steals it back 19. M. Feliciano See above 20. J. Gray Forget average and rough start, kid has potential to explode. All tools, outside average and terrible babip he was solid 21. C. Lemons He is a project & as we have seen with Ashby, Z. Brown and so many others... Helena stats mean nothing. 22. QTC Best reliever in system who will help MLB this season hopefully 23. A. Houser Power arm in pen who fits Brewers bullpen/ starter role well. Healthy & hopefully gets back to dominate ways. 24. M. Bello Reminds me so much of Tyrone Taylor. Think that is the prospect he is. 25. J. Ward Big step this year & be interesting if he can do it again on young T-Rat team
  23. Wow this could be a steal! 2017 dipped a bit & curious why they removed him as a starter when he was going pretty strong. Struggles didn’t really come until the pen & later on. Really like his numbers. Even with the walks, WHIP has always been pretty respectable. He’s not hit much & Ks a lot of guys. Almost surprised they took it so slow with production in beginning years
  24. Had him on there originally.... dominated minors, rocked in mlb, dad posting all the time. Angel Salome’s HS coach is missed, he was a great poster close to a player on here.
