  1. Think you’d need to to get the next young & upcoming ace who is controlled for 4-5 years at least. A Kershaw, Mad-Bum when they first broke out. A Thor who would actually be healthy enough to pitch. Can’t even speculate on who that next young guy is. Think only way a deal would make sense is if you are trading 4 years of young MVP entering prime is to recieve a young controllable CY young caliber pitcher who has yet to hit prime. I love Yelich but to actually have a Kersaw, Zito, Sale type arm when they were young and pre/entering prime who be something we haven’t came close to beside Sheets in how many decades? Again I don’t know who that pitcher would be, maybe Walker Buehler? Is he going to be that type of special HOF arm? But only deal I’m taking is one for that kind of arm with the control and age similar to Yelich who is legit Cy Young contender. I think I just value a young star Ace over star OF..... mostly because historical we have had some great offensive players for many years of control.... I have seen very few Aces that were controlled. Be cool to see a guy even better than Sheets on a team with ability to score a few runs (not the Sheets gave up 1.... so we lose)
  2. Still the feature article on home page!
  3. Top 10 Brewer Saviors who failed me 1. Lou Palmisano 2. Zach Braddock 3.Matt Gamel 4. Angel Salome 5. Hurricane Iribarren 6. Mark Rogers 7. Cody Scarpetta 8. Cameron Garfield 9. Nick “Baby Face Assasin” Bucci 10. Osmel Perez
  4. Graham Mertz time yet? QB is just a giant black hole for this offense. Best Oline & RB in country or at least up there & yet offense can’t do anything. As a defense you can just sell out on run & if Wisconsin beats you through the air.... so be it. Defense is a major issue. Dline has been battered all season, D backs are all freshmen with few sophomores mixed in due Dixon being banged up most of year. Linebackers are good but the weaker the dline, the harder it is for backers
  5. Think Burnes is past consideration in any deal with how great he pitched this season. Think he is in similar spot as Hader last off-season. Huira looks like real deal. With those two nearly untouchable. Any big deals appear difficult. Brewers have invested a lot in bringing in young talent but all those guys are rookie and A ball guys whose top values are still year or two away. Their system is really banking on this big wave of guys in the low levels. Profar I think is a real solid choice who still may not have that huge of price tag. Finally had full year & love that he doesn’t K and still walks a ton! It was 9% Bb to 14% K. He flashed 20 HR power. Still only turning 26. He plays 1b, 2B, SS,3B and some OF and isn’t a liability out there. To me question is hit tool and he is basically the younger upgrade to Perez since he doesn’t K & he will take walks... two areas Hernan doesn’t excel at. I’ve always been on Profar wagon though as low risk high reward type player
  6. Think you wait until at least June for sure. Save the eligibility. Be interesting to see what they do for a placeholder. Don’t think you pay Schoop 10 million to do so with hopes he bounces back to trade later.
  7. Think his wrist & hand are healed now. Some overreacted a bit when struggled after returning from that injury but hands & wrist issues will always take time to recover & find groove again. When you have a guy thats bat speed is explosive, timing will be off. Think he was still around .330 prior to injury. With this showing, I’d not be shocked if he is top 10 prospect in baseball. He is showing all the tools you hope he would. Ks are higher than normal but hard to believe that will ever be a big issue for him & his offensive game. My guess is they have him working on something like as mentioned launch angle.
  8. Think we forget Dibon looked like he’d force his way to majors soon before ACL tear. He could easily factor in with a big spring. I really hope Moode is back. Shaw works 2nd & 3rd. Then they fill from there. Huira in 2020 everyday but if Moose is back & Shaw, keep him down until June or July
  9. I don’t think he is opening up season on 25 man roster nor should he. A lot depends what they do with Schoop, Moose, Shaw. You retain all 3, Huira only comes up for injury. Dubon will be there looking for 2B innings with Perez as well. If Schoop is traded, Moose’s option isn’t picked up on both sides, and Brewers stay pat.... I could see him up by June. If Moose and/ or Schoop are back, it could be longer.
  10. Think people are just holding grunge because after a hand/wrist injury he had a month slump. Outside of that, he has just tore through minor league pitching. He has a very similar swing as Trout but he is not Trout and think we all know that. Trout is a generational talent and no one is. However, just cause he is not Trout doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be very excited and think he is anything less than an elite minor league hitting project. His hit tool may be best of all prospects in baseball.
  11. Apologies to Perez for talking so much crap on him yesterday ha
  12. Woodruff is past point of going back to AAA to start. He is a mlb pitcher & it’s like he is all tha young. He will be in rotation or pen & I believe rotation unless his March is as awful as it was last March. Brewers have been persistently say Burnes will move back to rotation. Nothing in his track record says he won’t excel. He hasn’t faltered at all in any role since day he was drafted. Peralta has had some incredible flashes & forced Brewers to keep starting him. If he struggles it will be in first & with command. He comes in throwing strikes, other team is in trouble. Fact Brewers trusted him enough to use a 25 man spot on him says a lot. All three with good Spring can earn rotation spot & think it is there’s to lose. One struggles, they all can be weapons out of the pen. Don’t see less than 2 of them in rotation. Houser is big dark horse in pen. Healthy now, huge arm strength to go with solid off speed. Think he could fit in well. Williams I expect to continue to get better. I agree with Brown being our 2018 Burnes come June/July
  13. Crazy, I’ve been following minors close since around 2002 & with way things had been for most of that time who thought we’d be looking at a rotation & bullpen that is largely homegrown through draft & minor league trades?! Nelson, Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta, Jeffress, Hader, Knebel, Williams, Barnes........ Houser, Z. Brown aren’t far. Pretty amazing considering that outside of Sheets & Gallardo... Parra & Wily P. were best homegrown arms since 1998
  14. The way Woodruff has pitched since his call-up, I think he's close to a lock for the rotation. Burnes already is. I think Peralta is probably at least in the mix for a rotation spot as well. Add in Nelson (I know, question mark), and not only do they have a deep rotation, they likely have solid trade bait as well. Could we see Anderson and Davies dangled in potential deals? Peralta at worse is #6 spot starter & long guy. He has gone 120 to 140 IP this year so don’t think they’d have to worry about his innings too much. With his upside, flashes, & age I think with strong spring he makes Top 5. Nelson, Chacin, Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta is a rotation I’d love to watch! Nelson not pitching this season was disappointing but an extra 5-6 months to get right before March. Have to believe he is 100% by start of season. Maybe not Ace form right away but you hope. He’s not healthy, you hold onto Anderson or Davies a little longer.
  15. First fastball under 94 for Brewers was in 10th by Soria.... most ranged from 96-99..... not too shabby Bring power arm bullpen today, crafty day tomorrow. Need 4 or 5 solid from Chacin tomorrow. Even with days off. We can easily burn up our greatest asset as we move forward if we don’t get innings from true starters. Saving Gonzalez & Miley today was big. Woodruff has been rolling. He has started all season mostly. Have to think he is decently stretched out to at least give you 85 pitches & be another starter. Great strategy short term but you make WS verse Indians Sox, Yankees...... having overused arms in pen & only 3 options to give you starter innings is troubling. Woodruff rolls again today, ride it out until he gets in some trouble 3rd time through if he does. 6 innings over 3 is huge difference
  16. Yep. I can't believe a few were defending that. It made no sense then and looks even worse now. If Keon Broxton is who you need to send up for your biggest scoring chance when you're carrying 14 position players, you screwed up. Broxton was put in for defense. Broxton isn’t playing defense.... correct?
  17. Soria gets us through 10th at least we got only 2 hitters that can do crap with a baseball today. Everyone just looks pathetic up there. Perez at the plate is just useless.
  18. So essentially there is Patrick Corbin on one level and all the other pitchers much further behind. He is getting a fat payday
  19. Good news is we already have 2 outstanding additions to 2019s rotation locked in that probably top or are close to FA options for way cheaper price in Nelson & Burnes. Both have TOR potential. Got Chacin, Anderson, Davies, Peralta, Woodruff sitting there. Gonzalez & Miley could be brought back at what you’d expect to be reasonable price. Without doing anything at all this off-season we are already better. Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta all got quality meaningful innings & pitched well. Experience they got is huge for learning curve. Nelson should be 100% by spring & hopefully finds form quickly. Chacin has been brilliant. Anderson minus massive amounts of bombs has been fine. Davies is Davies.
