  1. Peralta I’m guessing was left off because he’s not a power arm. 90-92 but with mechanics and life it just seems like 96-97
  2. Burnes comes in pumping 97. Coming up through system, I honestly did not know he could crank it up as much as he can. Out of pen he 95-98. Can’t wait until he is in rotation next season!
  3. I personally loved LSU match up & the upcoming Notre Dame. As a coach, we schedule a tough non conference schedule. We run our conference pretty easy so to prepare for state we want to battle test ourselves & teach kids to battle a bit. I think the soft non conference schedule hurts them with most of the West not being very good. When you get to those tough games you are less prepared & battle tested. However, high school you have playoffs so a D5 or 6 team losing to a D2 or D3 school or another elite state contender in close game doesn’t hurt you at all. In college system 1 or 2 loses can cost you a shot. You lose to LSU & say Penn St. you may be off to Capital One Bowl. So I understand that argument and risk of tough schedule
  4. If Brewers somehow knock Cubs off & win division. Yelich wins. Think that is what it will take. Voters love their big market guys.... you really need to force their hand to get votes. If you take most valuable to their team & playoff run approach, Yelich & Carpenter are the two. Brewers & Cards are not where they are today without the 2nd half surges. Yelich has been as elite as you can get for 2 straight months. He has been best player in baseball since all-star break & I don’t think it is overally close
  5. Only thing we can’t do is be swept. Just winning one keeps us in striking distance! Cubs have been so so of late and we have been hot! We pull the we sweep, man... September gets very exciting
  6. Wish I could take a sick day from school tomorrow just watch to Stephen A Smith talk about that Baaaad Man Aaron Rodgers all day! Wow! What a 2nd half.
  7. Lol! I was just venting to my brother about the awful camera angles. It is almost as terrible as the Packers have played. Kizer’s time to shine now. Hope ARod is good or this will be ugly season. Other note Bears offense as much as I hate to say it has looked good. Like what Nagy is doing
  8. Webb has the highest ceiling out of the 3 I think if he can figure out command on regular basis. Feel Brown is the safest bet to help rotation. Similar makeup has Burnes in that he commands stuff well, attacks hitters, has multiple pitches he can throw in any count. I don’t know what Brewers did with guys like Woodruff & Brown who had great arms but zero command in college.... because they really turned them around
  9. Some team will she’ll out money to Corbin. Age & performance this year will cause some team to over pay. Kuechel produces. Lacks velocity but just knows how to pitch & has really good off speed stuff & command. Not many guys I’m really excited about on list. Trade seems like best approach in terms of money & youth
  10. Yelich drops the “I was well rested” line in post game, I love it! People can complain up & down from him getting a day off in September and I get it but as Brain has taught us... rest isn’t an awful thing. Baseball is a grinding season. At first I was upset about him being out of lineup but if he wanted & needed it... I’m good with it. We need him at his best & if he is feeling run down, that will eventually negatively impact him
  11. Stand by deal but always loved Lopez & am happy for him! I felt Brewers kind of quit on him after he struggled like most all pitchers do there. Moving him to pen I wasn’t a fan of & they never gave him a real look. Just their usual here today, gone tomorrow approach they take with young arms. Never let him stay & just learn, adjust, and improve. Always had the talent. Glad Royals are giving him that chance
  12. Diplan is REALLY good when he can throw strikes.... Huira is back after awful August
  13. “So far, no new protocol agreement is in place. That means Fernando Villalobos, a 16-year-old lefthanded-hitting catcher with Mexico City who is Baseball America’s No. 34 international prospect in the 2018 class and was expected to sign with the Brewers, is among the Mexican players stuck in limbo.” May lose Villalobos depending on how this Mexican League mess works out. All signings are suspended. Mexican teams were lying about percentage they were letting players keep. That factors how much a signing cost against signing bonus. Cubs signed kid for 1.2 million. 75% was suppose to go towards posting cost. That team lied & gave him 50%. So on record he was suppose to get like 300k, he received 600k. Cubs were allowed to go over 300k on any player
  14. 1 3rd place vote for a 7.2 WAR.... winning always more important than production. DeGrom could be 0-20 this season & he still would deserve Cy Young. It’s suppose to go to best pitcher not best team. W/L is one of worst stats ever. I remember watching Sheets knowing if he gave up a run, they’d lose. Then Doug David would get shelled for 6 & still always get the W....
  15. Reminds me of Ben Hendrickson’s dad type hyping (without the debating) how good his son is. Segovia is solid, can hit, flashed little more power than he has in past. Think there are good amount of guys still ahead of him with another wave developing behind. Will have to do more next year in Carolina even with tough hitter league
  16. I think this year he has gotten in his own way the most. He was awful in Spring then was not overslept impressive when he got chances for most the year. That all comes from command not really being there. He has a Wily Peralta fastball. High velocity but little movement or deception usually. Command of the fastball & slider is critical to keep hitters off it. Like Wily, when he is able command slider, the 97 mph fastball is tough, even more so if he keeps it down & off the middle of plate. When he struggles, hitters just sit on fastball & wait for him to leave one where they want it. Great points ahead. He needs to have solid & consistent 3rd pitch. Command hasn’t been an issue for him since he left Mississippi State so you figure he will or has gotten that fixed up a bit. As for being jumped. Burns has 4 pitches he can pull the strings on in any count along with 94+ velocity. Burns just has it out there. Peralta when he is able to get ball over plate is unhittable. He is deceptive & ball moves like crazy. Peralta got a chance & he ran with it. Woodruff simply didn’t run with his chances the way he did last August before hitting wall in September.
  17. He had stellar June & beginning of July until injury. Really since the thumb injury & all of August he has struggled. Maybe injury, bad luck, or just a really rough month but I still believe in his bat. Never read a scout who has doubted his hit tool. In the end I don’t think one brutal month following a hand injury is a sign he needs longer. My guess is Schoop is 2B next season, Keston AAA 2B until he forces call up or injury to Schoop occurs.
  18. Since Trade Carmona 18 for 86 4bb 25ks slash .209/.253/.256 .509 ops only .047 iso Ortiz 5.7 K/9 4.50 FIP .... ERA in mid 3s but can’t miss a bat. Schoop started terrible but has came on as of late & we have one more year of control. Month later. Still like the deal
  19. Trevor Davis can just go. He’s a lazy receiver who gives up on balls, will never lay out to attempt to make a play, and outside of speed doesn’t have really bring much to table. He’s #8 WR to me & surprised he even made 53
  20. Badgers offense is nothing to worry about. Ferguson is a big playmaking TE like Fum. Developing still but kid can play! Our top 2 WRs out hurts but still Pryor & Taylor are real good receivers. DL & DBs are the two groups on team that can make you a little nervous due to the high turnover & lack of experience but they have kids with talent. Dixon & Olive are studs & great leaders for each of those groups.
  21. Yes and I think that's what they are hoping for. But even with Mack is the Bears D as good as those two defenses? Front 7 maybe but I don't think in the backfield. Bears made it to Super Bowl with Rex Grossman..... good defenses can get you places
  22. They been hyping him since last TC but he got hurt. Sam Shields type WR convert and has good size. They like him a ton
