  1. Good news is I don’t see anyway Zugurski survives on this roster another day or holds a 40 man spot. Rough again with ERA sitting at a cool 54.00. With Cain back tomorrow, he has to be one out after today
  2. Nationals trade Max, they automatically lose any hope of bringing back Harper. Clear cut sign they give up on competing. They are still a team right now who like Dodgers can pop off a big hot streak & climb. They are most talented team in that division. Phillies & Braves are up & coming teams & both could easily take steps back in 2nd half. It’d make zero sense to trade one of the top 3 pitchers in the game right now. You don’t even consider it until Harper leaves & if they decide to tear it all down to rebuild If they were to trade, prospects all depend on how much of that contract you are willing to eat. You eat a lot of it, you get discount on prospects. Still will be big haul
  3. Jumped gun a little early after awful outing other day & bad 1st inning. Last year he had the good 7 inning outing Oct. 1, clean 1 inning Sept. 15, and 2.1 4 hit 3 run outing after that. I do feel there are pitchers who should be ahead of him on pecking order.
  4. Why do Brewers keep calling up Wilkerson? How much more does he need to prove that he is a garbage mlb pitcher? How is Woodruff or even Burns not a better option? Hopefully DFA is near
  5. Caden Lemons makes season debut with a scoreless 1st! Glad to see him out there!
  6. Not to mention that Braun & Shaw haven’t had great first half. Pina struggled for much of the season. Those are 3 bats that can do damage & get real hot. Thames missed a ton of time. Yelich & Cain have had to miss smaller but still extended time. We have have had little to mixed production from middle infield..... yet we are going to break our most wins before break in franchise history! 8-3 for 60 is very possible with struggling Marlins & Pirates after the Braves!
  7. Mass must off sold Matulovich pretty good! Beasley I think who could really pop off like Cody Scarpetta did. With later round pick & Arkansas having a really good thing going.... thought he may go to school
  8. One of the lowest signing pools in majors, drafted ton of high school, junior college, and sophomore eligible kids with leverage.... bad combination for signing numbers. Doesn’t bother me though. Take risks to get better talent that may cost you more than draft and sign a lot of guys who are fillers
  9. Last year was similar. Part of the new strategy of quality over quantity. Draft younger, higher ceiling players who are harder signs. Better to sign a few higher ceiling players over many depth guys.
  10. Marijuana being allowed in NBA hasn’t hurt the sport one bit.... not sure why it would hurt NFL.
  11. Pretty sure he was in dugout today wasn’t he? Thought it was him after Orfs HR up towards top of steps, could be wrong though
  12. ? Think Shaw & Thornburg straight up even would be win for us.... mix in Dubon knocking on door before injury & Coco is decent lottery ticket. Maybe it was suppose to be in blue?
  13. I will forever root for this guy to make it to the bigs. Love that name! Awesome name! Guessing it is actually Joneiker Ponce de Leon like Juan Ponce de Leon (explorer who “discovered” Florida for Spain)
  14. So when does Carlos Rodriguez leave DSL..... really not much of a challenge for his bat... 4 more hits today, 8 in 2 days... still hitting .450s
  15. My iPhone gets it as well daily So how about Demi O?! While power hasn’t popped off like Monte Harrison after his promotion last year but he has begun to make a loud opening statement as a prospect again! From improvements he made at both Wisconsin & so far in Carolina, he has really impressed this year & is flying way under radar
  16. So that top 3 in the batting order manning the OF in the DSL seem to be pretty solid baseball players! Ernesto had a brutal first 20 or so ABs but since has been very good! Rodriquez is as advertised, kid can just hit! Even had his 5th double & 1st career HR today! Both those two were 4-6 on the day
  17. I’m really interested in Bautista. My guess is he will be a 1b or LF. He is a real big boy & from videos I’ve seen the ball just carries off his bat. Could be real good power hitter!
  18. Yelich deal kind of proves all bark no bite wrong in my opinion. He just isn’t willing to foolishly overpay the way some GMs are & way some fans want him to. Still 100% disagree that Peralta has anything to do with trade for either. If I’m Stearns, it’s off table. Makes zero sense to take an asset out of rotation to gain another. Isn’t the goal to have best rotation possible? Peralta is no longer a prospect to me & has earned his keep. He is freshly 22, been electric, and shown he can be a piece of the future. Again, teams in contention trade minor league prospects to upgrade.... not valuable major league assets. Woodruff, Burns, Hiura, and so on are all fair game & not helping us right now. Peralta is! I can not wrap my mind around why we would trade a kid who has pitched like we haven’t seen from a prospect here before to start career (I mean literally historically great start). Id throw in Davies who should be odd man out if they want a mlb arm to fill a hole. I’d take a lesser frontline arm over trade Peralta
  19. Ashby with his first solid outing, good to see!
  20. That'd be a hard pass for me. I really don't want to trade Huira but I definitely don't want to trade Peralta. He is exciting! Really is only pitcher in rotation I actually enjoy and look forward to watch every 5th day. Moreover, I'm against trading guys like Peralta and Hader who have "arrived" and are helping win now. To me you don't trade contributing assets on contention team.... prospects who are merely prospects not help out fine. You don't win selling off major league assets.
  21. Well Wilkerson should be on way out tonight after being awful today, wonder who is up next for the pen? Miller easily over Sogard.
  22. If Kiley can accurately predict a 15-16 year olds ceiling..... some team should be paying him millions to lead international scouting. You can sign a kid like Arcia for 70k or less and have them be a top 10 prospect in all of minors. You can sign a guy for 3 million and he may not ever make it past A ball. It is a complete crapshoot. We are talking about signing kids so are 9th-10th grade. Look at how many undrafted kids in high school go to college and become high draft prospects? How many high school prospects are little known in 10th grade then big time talents by end of 12? It's all about lottery tickets. More you have, better chance to hit. I prefer we stay away from the huge signings and continue to load up on talented lottery tickets. They all have high risk and high ceilings because no 15-16 year olds talent is close to being tapped out.
  23. When it comes to all the intangibles, it has to be Cain. He does literally everything great to help this team win. Plus he has put himself in a leadership role & overall makes the Brewers better. Cain Hader Aguilar Yelich Jeffress To me, those 5 have are the biggest reason why we have most wins in NL. Hader & Jeffress have froze any rallies to save leads all year & Cain, Yelich, Aguilar have been consistent game in & game out helping team win. Guerra could be in discussion as well Others have had hot & cold streaks
  24. His babip should usually be above average & that should factor in. Look at his hot chart. He is professional hitter who can find holes all over the field. When hitters have that ability they will maintain high babip. Walk rate does surprise me a bit but at same time, with bat ball skills & ability to go with any pitch all over, that expands his zone. He has shown to be more advanced than the pitching at every level so wonder if he will take more against better pitchers who aren’t giving him many good pitches he likes to hit. It’s nice he’s around that 20% K mark but does need to walk more than 4% he should be around 10% as an elite bat & obp guy.
  25. [sarcasm]Peralta really proving those national services he wasn’t worth a top 100 place & future is simply a reliever[/sarcasm]
