  1. Generally agree, but I don't mind going on first move there. There aren't many more valuable steals than going to second with no outs and the pitcher hitting.
  2. Haven't had many days where the Brewers, Reds, and Cards all lose. Shaping up to be one of those. Another day closer to champagne.
  3. Maybe an emotional hangover today against a good pitcher. I don't put a lot of stock into the season series. The playoffs are another animal entirely. Same game, different planet. The rule for the next month is stay/get healthy, set up your rotation, and get your timing down.
  4. With a 4-0 lead, I think it's the right call. You should be able to hold that for nine outs. I am with you in the sense that Woody going further than Wheeler isn't something that seems possible given the totally different trajectories of these innings.
  5. Walking off the contending Cardinals on an ultimate grand slam is about as good as baseball gets for me. Next stop World Series.
  6. craig counsell says that they might place kolten wong on a different emergency leave list, so it's not a foregone conclusion that wong is activated today. Wong should take as long as he needs. Crew will be fine. And lots of time to stay sharp for postseason.
  7. Under the old rules it was pointless to put a player on the 10 day IL in September. Realized this after I posted, haha. Hoping rest helps.
  8. Yeah, under the old roster rules, I doubt he goes IL.
  9. They were up 7-10 games in the division from mid-August onward. From July 26 to August 28 they went 27-5 to put everyone else away that year. I've been wrong a lot lately. Just remember it feeling more precarious to me then.
  10. This is the weirdest time in my life as a Brewer fan. The results don't actually matter that much, so I'm just latching on to every little thing as a potential playoff indicator. Probably not the way to go... I do remember 2011 being like this a little, though I never believed the Crew would win until they won. Plus, wasn't it a 5 or 6 game lead until about the second week of Sept.? If I could fast forward to the point of getting the magic number under 8, I would
  11. Not our day. One more shot, but disappointing to drop the series. Still. Another 3 games closer to the division. Hope they can beat up on the Cards in the next 7 just to eliminate them. Or maybe the Dodgers will help with that this week.
  12. It wouldn’t be shocking. They do have a 7 game home stand coming up with 4 against the Dodgers and 3 with the Reds. Those games will have a significant bearing on the playoff races. Yeah, Cards will be in it...but what a tough schedule. Now, if the Crew is playing for nothing, that will help STL.
  13. Any team that doesn't shift Cain up the middle isn't paying attention. And I stand corrected on the Bader play then.
  14. I actually think the umps got this call right. The ball initially bounced foul but then went fair. Escobar put a glove on it in fair territory, it was on the foul line when he touched it. That’s a fair ball. The part I don’t get is the play being scored a double and Burnes getting charged with two runs. Seemed like an error to me. Also didn’t get replay calling Bader safe at 2nd. Did he touch it? Sure looked on Cards TV like it went under the glove. Maybe there's an angle I missed?
  15. It looked to me like it hit his foot. Although one second look via At Bat, looks like no. So. It only should've been foul once. My fault.
  16. Rough series for the Reds. I think it's going to be them and the Cards all the way to the wire. Bradley needs to maybe not try to throw it so hard...
  17. Just saw the Bader grounder. Geez. That should've been foul twice. How does that happen? My goodness...
  18. Guessing the quad is tight. I think we're going to see position players getting taken out for extra rest and to test defensive alignments a lot over the last month.
