  1. Fear of jinx. Mets have good hitters. Can't keep 'em down forever. Grind it out.
  2. Keep pounding away, Crew. Nice to see both games going in the right direction so far. Hope it keeps up. Long way to go.
  3. Lindor did not miss that. Hope the offense can get to Carrasco today. I think Freddy will have a good start but am worried about the late innings.
  4. 538 has the Crew 58% to win today. Cards are 55. Add it up, and the model thinks there's a 76.9% chance the Brewers clinch today. Really hoping the actual (very small sample) results make the computer look smart.
  5. Count me as no longer caring in the slightest. A home celebration is a home celebration, and, while it's usually nicer to win, going into an off day still needing the final nail would be just way too much...
  6. Badgers offense just seems like too much of a throwback. I don't need them to spread the field and go all up-tempo modern CFB, but against an athletic team, it's hard to grind out yards and wins. They need to win games with 14-21 points, and that's really hard to do in today's game.
  7. Taylor really needed more of a move the line approach there. And it took Pina until two strikes to get there.
  8. Ouch. I think Escobar is okay, but when you're expecting 70, an 88 mph fastball sure stings.
  9. That Vogelbach slam looks bigger by the day. Win tonight, Crew, and you've guaranteed the Cards will have to win another 8 in a row (four against the Brewers) to win the division.
  10. One has to think, at some point, the Cards bullpen is just going to run out of gas and blow a lead. Hoping it's today. Edit: The Cubs have also hit into about 4 double-plays today...
  11. Everyone in the playoffs is fully capable....I am in the camp that the Dodgers are by far the scariest opponent, and the Cards are the team I least want to face for emotional reasons. Beyond that, I don't think it matters much. I think, though, the Phillies are a better matchup. That bullpen is built for October meltdown.
  12. Oh, I'm with you. Just heard a lot of snark about that banner over the years. 4 big-time outs from Suter.
  13. I know people joke about the 2008 Wild Card banner, but that's so much more legit than the 2020 one...
  14. [sarcasm]Too bad Lindor covered second; he's just no Javy when it comes to tagging.[/sarcasm]
  15. They might have to try and flip an arm for an RBI bat in the offseason. I like the depth though, losing just one of those guys to injury puts us in a position of need at pitching again. I hope they keep all 6 of them, and go a different route for a bat. Anderson has to be gone for good. 3/4 of the infield looks really good. If Taylor's a big-leaguer, the offense looks alright as is. Hiura looking like a bust hurts. Depends what we think of Tellez long-term, I guess.
  16. Especially when only one was a truly close game. Lauer isn't the hero we asked for, but man he sure looks the one we needed. Just awesome stuff from him. Wow.
  17. I mean, Lauer is the kind of guy you just worry about less pitch count wise given his arsenal and role. Sure that's a factor too. Bottom of the order, he looks good. See if you can steal an out or three.
  18. CC going to let Lauer at least try to get an out here. Williams needs to come back fast. It's pretty thin when Hader can only go an inning.
  19. As tempting as it might be to send him out for the 7th....at 100 pitches it's probably time to make the switch. I'm trying to figure out who they are going to make the switch to, though. Have to think Boxberger, Ashby and Cousins are off limits. Strickland if he's around. Suter. Hader. Did Cousins pitch Wednesday? I would think he would be good if CC needed him.
