  1. It's Bryant, Yaz, PH....Giants' bench is all RH. Suter seems a slightly odd choice, but maybe he's pitched Bryant well?
  2. Brewers havr only K'd twice tonight. Lots of balls in play. Both teams leaving lots of baserunnners.
  3. Good time to gamble with Norris given the lefties due up. Great pitch to get Crawford. Wouldn't have let him face Bryant.
  4. Hope the few days off settled Curtiss. Been through a whirlwind somce the deadline. Be nice to be able to rely on him for these mid-to-late innings spots.
  5. Sanchez, Curtiss, and Norris are the best/rested pen options. Box and Williams could go as well, I'd think. Even Suter. Probably sell out to win tonight and punt tomorrow if you have to.
  6. This feels like a situation where Adames will come out, and I never get that. Happens a lot it seems. Why keep him on the bases? Hoping it's just a cramp.
  7. Was wondering that myself after they pinch hit for him last night. Last night felt like get Pina an AB against a lefty amd get a better defensive catcher in the game for extras. Today seems like just a planned day... Maybe, though.
  8. Managers are never perfect, but the CC is the right guy for this team. The first year I really followed the Brewers was 1998. This is the best string of seasons of my lifetime. 17, 18, 19, 21 all right on in the thick of it until the very end. The Brewers are the Rays of the NL. That well-run. Credit to the whole organization.
  9. So, Adames made an error. Escobar another on the throw to first. Where's the third? What'd I miss here?
  10. Guessing the plan is: Box, Williams, Suter...assuming they can stay tied or take the lead. Maybe Curtiss factors. EDIT: Sanchez isn't a terrible option either, for the tenth if it gets there.
  11. I expect this series is going to look like this--close games, low-scoring. Brewers have the starting pitching edge, but going to need timely BP outings and clutch hitting to scratch out a win or two. Best case scenario is that series in San Diego...
  12. Sorry to hear that, hope you’re feeling alright. Seconded. Glad to hear from DS all of these guys are having mild symptoms. Hope it stays that way, and they all get back to to full health quick. Burnes looking sharp. Hard hit balls from the offense too. Could use a couple avoiding gloves.
  13. That advantage obviously doesn’t start until next week. If the Brewers can avoid losing ground this weekend I would consider that a win. Agree. Just mostly thinking big picture, trying to avoid the day-by-day emotion swing.
  14. Next ten games will see the Crew with a schedule advantage (3 SF, 4 CHC, 3 PIT vs 3 PIT, 1 CLE, 3 ATL, 3 PHI for the Reds). Be nice to add a game or two over that span because I'd expect the Reds to gain ground the rest of the way. I'd put the most likely scenario as Brewers winning by 4ish games, but the last 50 of an MLB season always feel wild. Wouldn't be surprised if this got closer than that.
  15. Given decline in revenue due to COVID, how far are teams willing to go in the direction of risking more lost revenue? That's what it'll turn on for me. Are the clubs willing to make some financial concessions in order to avoid another partial revenue year? Are they willing to take a slightly smaller piece of a bigger pie? I doubt it. Given the choice, I'd always bet on the side of these ownership groups not actually caring about baseball or very much, especially if it means making the system more fair in the process....maybe that's too cynical.
  16. Yes, it's the Pirates, but COVID is the bigger issue right now. Need to start getting those BP guys back. Hope the offense can rally today, but there's like 50 games to go, and you've got a 6 game lead at least (assuming Reds win tomorrow). Honestly, this is the point of having a cushion--to weather this kind injury luck.
  17. I think this division race is going to get within 4 at some point. Reds have a pretty easy schedule here... Like to delay that moment as long as possible. I'd put my 80 percent confidence interval at Brewers winning Central by between 2 and 7...
  18. Not a lot of guessing on where that one was gonna be....Reynolds is a good hitter. Freddy going tomorrow. Hopefully that gets them the series.
  19. Not only has COVID really thinned the pen, but the better guys are really getting a lot of work. Perdomo has to be in there, I guess, but man....not really his spot.
