  1. 12 pitch inning there helps. Cubs really want to see what Steele has. They want him as a starter. Will certainly take the free out... Box, Williams one game Strickland, Cousins another?
  2. This is one of the nice parts about having a decent division lead. You can gamble and see if Escobar gets comfortable at first and things like that.
  3. Yeah...I don't know what it is about the Cubs. They like really need to get chippy about strange things. Not a great way to go through 162 games... They're a bad baseball team. So they need to create drama and action from things other than winning baseball games. They've done this stuff for years, though. Contreras it's part of his personality, so maybe now he's the only guy left we'll see more of it.
  4. I think it's residual from early-career lefties seeming to always do a number on the Crew. But, yeah. About 4 of the 9 outs have been hit at 100+ mph. Need to elevate. Good play from Taylor to keep it to 1.

  6. Man...really just missed there. Looks like we'll have to score to win, I guess
  7. More bad defense by Garcia. See if Freddy can get a big K here.
  8. Am I wrong that Steele was stretching out at as a starter in Des Moines? I thought the Cubs were hoping to get 5 from him, but maybe I missed something...
  9. Brewers playing old-style baseball. Aggressive and balls in play everywhere.
  10. Hard to sweep double-headers but hoping having some pen help back will make life a bit easier. Be nice if the Crew could put together a big inning to make the gameplan easier. Lots of soft contact in the first.
  11. Pitching matchups for this series are actually not as favorable as I'd thought... Still think the Brewers play well, and it's a net positive that today is PPD. Still, goes both ways. Four fewer innings for a depleted Cubs pen, and they're throwing a guy who may not be quite stretched in game 1 tomorrow. Gotta make it tough on him.
  12. Definitely keeping an eye on the Cardinals. Padres too. Obviously, I want the Brewers to win the division. The WC is a backup, but it's so much better than missing out on the playoffs altogether. Plus, it would be really sweet to have Woody and Burnes combine to no-hit the Dodgers at Chavez before Freddy and a bullpen day (then back to the top of the rotation!) crush the Giants.
  13. Count me in the camp of sometimes you lose series to good teams. The Brewers are not 7 games better than the Reds. They are better, though. If we lose ground over the next 7, I'll start to get anxious. Let's pick up a game or two while the Reds play good teams.
  14. It really is amazing how losing a game to go from a 7-game lead to a 6-game lead can suck so much. Keeping perspective on my frustration best I can, haha.
  15. On the bright side, Brewers will have the more rested pen tomorrow, I guess. Brewers win or Reds loss tomorrow, and I'll be alright with the weekend. Sich a long way to go in the season still. The Reds have given away a couple themselves in the last week. Reset button time.
  16. I'm guessing they PR for Pina amd PH with Narvaez leading off in the 10th. I don’t think you waste a pinch runner when you can just double switch and get Cain on 2B since he was the previous batter before Piña’s spot. Makes sense. Unless something's bugging Narvaez or they really value Pina on defense woth a runner on 2nd.
  17. Man have the Brewers been out quickly in these last few innings. That Garcia play is just awful....though both teams have had lots of chances to win. Need another Houdini act in the 10th here.
