  1. I mean, has he really been that bad? I'm on the radio, so what do I know, but he's given up 2 hits and 2 walks in nearly 4 innings so far. I know it's 11-0 when he comes in, and I know he's not going to be around long, but, especially while Lindblom is hurt, Zimmerman maybe is worth another look or two? Edit: Okay, he can't get AJ Pollock out, that's for sure. Will stand by the point, though. I've seen worse in that Brewer pen.
  2. Just checked the score to confirm I wasn’t missing anything. Do you think this is the first time in history that a team has had the best record in the league this far into the season with a negative run differential? If the current score holds as final, and my addition is correct, the Brewers will have won 9 of their last 13 games while being outscored 60-44. The weird thing is, it sure seems like a strategy. I mean, you're never planning to get blown out, but the whole roster is constructed around the idea that you can win a lot of games with a not very good offense. I'm convinced there are very few (if any) teams in MLB for whom run differential will matter less than it does for the Brewers. They're just not going to win many games giving up 5+ runs, and the gap between the "A" bullpen and everyone else is wide, so when you start to get down 3-0, 4-0, it really could turn ugly fast.
  3. Weirdly, the Brewers have a better BP situation today with some of their betyer relievers rested. Will that matter? Maybe not. Feels like a house money day anyway, but sure would be nice to make Urias work early.
  4. Hiura so overmatched. I feel bad for him. He needs to figure it out in the minors, but there is just nowhere to go.
  5. I know. It feels like one the Crew could have had already, but they've also never led. This is baseball as attrition.
  6. I think these games are the price of the roster construction. You'll keep runs off the board, but you can only win so many close games before you just have to hit in order to reset the pen. I'm fine with that, honestly. But you do have to get better ABs from a guy like JBJ there. Get healthy, outfield.
  7. I think if they could just face each other on repeat it would probably be good for the confidence of both. Hahaha. Sad. True. Funny.
  8. Taylor had already PH. Tomorrow is just a get through day at this point. Hope you hit, I guess.
  9. Rasmussen likely to be the choice I think. Zimmerman an option as well if he's not starting tomorrow, though he would probably be behind all the position players except Hiura on my list. Yup. I chucked it on Rasmussen. Good call.
  10. Should this game reach the tenth, my Brewers pitcher power rankings: 1) JP (if available) 2) Box (if available) 3) Perdomo (for the Ks) 4) Weigel (assuming he won't start tomorrow) 5) Bettinger Am I missing someone?
  11. I think a big part of replay is I have no idea on the actual standard that needs to be met to overturn a call. Sometimes, it seems it's like 100 percent clarity. Other times, it seems to be closer to just probably.
  12. This is my thinking. Tomorrow looks like another scramble day, so you want to make sure you can throw him if you need. Maybe he would have stayed if the Crew took the lead.
  13. Feeling the same. Guy is a total game-changer. Not overreacting to April, but he's going to be one of those guys that reinvents Hall of Fame criteria, right? Like, the numbers may not do justice to how much he changed the game. He'll have to do it for a bunch more years, but it's been awesome to watch.
  14. I’ve seen Jimmy Nelson look pretty good at times out of the Dodgers bullpen this year, but tonight wasn’t one of them. He was erratic and got away with some bad pitches. I'm sure Urias wants that 2-0 pitch back. Going with JP back-to-back. Here's hoping.
  15. Or let Feliciano take his place, and let Maile get a few ABs. I have no faith at all in Maile. None. Yeah, I mean, Maile is as unexciting as it gets. Literally the definition of a replacement level player. But he probably doesn't hurt you over 7-10 games. Steady stopgap. Depends on how they feel about Feliciano, I guess...
  16. Box has been very good this year. Wouldn't Lucroy have to clear intake? And doesn't that take time woth COVID protocols? I'm all for it, but if Pina is going to be back in two weeks, I don't know. Just seems like you let Maile be his replacement level self and give Feliciano a few ABs.
  17. Team was pretty optimistic about Pina coming back quick-ish, right? Frustrating. I mean, what can you do except keep going and hope things even out. Just keep scrapping, I guess.
  18. It was crazy that Angel Hernandez never even saw Narvaez’s turn or bothered to look at him, he just reacted to the fact that he saw Narvaez diving back towards the 1st base bag. Also, Mike Petriello mentioned that he thought Angel Hernandez had “sorta called timeout” after the ball was fielded off the side wall. I missed that and didn’t go back to watch it yet, did anyone else notice that? He definitely called timeout. While the ball was live. It was weird.
  19. Probably try to get 6 outs from Suter so as to only have to use 1 of JP/DW/Hader? Maybe Freddy has another out or two in him?
