  1. I sort of just think the Giants are going to come back and win, and, truthfully, it's maybe for the best.
  2. Padres still stealing bases! RBI hit would be great here, Jorge Mateo, whoever you are.
  3. This team has to swing at more balls than any other team in baseball, right?
  4. Yeah, the Padres are going to let the dregs work through trouble. Well they should. Gonna be a white-knuckler. I want the Brewers in the playoffs, but if the Giants win their way in, good for them.
  5. I learned my lesson counting down outs in last years NL Wild Card game. Yup. That's why I included the Brewers. I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious...
  6. Our old friend Oliver Drake in for the Rays, I believe. All 3 teams down to single digit outs.
  7. At this point I feel like CC is just trying to make as many mid-inning pitching changes as possible on the off chance the other games finish while this one is in like the 6th and Arcia can pitch.
  8. The Williams stuff is true. And I agree. But I don't trust non-Williams pitchers to do mich for 6 innings...
  9. Well, offense is going to have be the bail-out crew today (if the Rays and Pads don't do the bailing out for them).
  10. I mean...none of the Brewers, Giants, or Phils should be in the playoffs. Not that it helps.
  11. Anderson is sometimes not THAT much behind Suter in terms of pace. Like that.
  12. Man, bad luck. Great AB from Braun. Good defense. Gomber has been started, but he was a reliever, right? Hopefully they can keep making him work.
  13. We'll see, I guess. That would be three days in a row for Hader since he closed out Game 1 of the DH on Friday. CC has been pretty hesitant to do that if I remember, though obviously if it's a win-or-be-done scenario, that might change things.
  14. Think Peralta will have deliver a couple of good innings today. Best case: Anderson 5-6 strong, Peralta 2, Williams 2. Yardley for some key righties maybe.
  15. Pads not exactly going all out. Can't blame them. Big K there to keep the lead. 3 outs to control your own fate.
  16. If the Brewers and Giants both finish 30-30 and the Cardinals are at 29-29 wouldn’t the Cardinals still have to go to Detroit to win at least one game in order to make the playoffs over the Giants and win two games in order to finish ahead of the Brewers for WC1 (in which case the Brewers would be WC2)? Yes, you're right. Thought about this afterward. My mistake. It's a weird situation with the DH on Monday. I'm sure the Cards would prefer to pass. I hope if they play one, they play both. That seems fair. They've already traveled at that point anyway.
  17. Posting quick and dirty scenarios here: 1) if the Brewers lose tomorrow, Cards are in as WC1. Brewers would need 2 Giants losses and 1 Phillies loss to get in as WC2. 2) If the Brewers win, they are in with 1 Giants loss. As WC1. 3) If the Brewers win and Giants go 2-0, Cards play a DH in Detroit Monday and would need to go 2-0 to knock Brewers out of playoffs. 4) Brewers win, SF goes 2-0, and MLB decides 58 is enough games for the Cardinals and gives the Brewers the WC spot by virtue of H2H record .
  18. I sort of implied this yesterday, but I might be okay woth spending like 10 mil total to keep Braun for a DH year. He's gotta be worth 1.5 WAR, right?
