  1. Except of course for the Brewers owning Wade Davis
  2. Man, how many lives do the Rockies have?
  3. I actually think the big outfield would play to our advantage. That is kind of what I was thinking as well. Can you imagine Cain and Yelich with all of that open green space to aim towards. Yup. And I trust them to run down a lot more outs than the OFers I am watching tonight. Of course, we may be getting ahead of ourselves....
  4. I actually think the big outfield would play to our advantage.
  5. The Rockies pitching is much more appealing to me than potentially having to face three formidable lefties (Lester, Quintana, Hamels). Our bullpen can shut down the Colorado offense, no problem. Not sure I agree. Freeland was very clearly the best pitcher in this game. Lester got hit very hard and had the ump working heavily in his favor all game long. Marquez vs Quintana is probably a wash for me. I would take Hamels over Senzatela or Gray though. Rockies have an advantage in the bullpen right now consider the Cubs are missing a few guys. Yeah, preferring the Rockies is strictly emotional for me. Though Freeland couldn't go until Game 3, and Marquez looked hittable yesterday. Honestly, I just can live with losing to the Rox. Losing to the Cubs would take some of the joy out of yesterday, and that would be a crying shame.
  6. Wow, the Rockies outfield is pretty bad...
  7. Jason Benetti, the full-time White Sox announcer is easy to listen to on the Statcast broadcast. I like him a lot.
  8. Can we pin this thread to the board? I want to look at it all winter, whatever happens from here out.
  9. Let's keep adding! Arcia trying to wave Santana in from third in the 8th while the windmill puts up the stop sign (rightfully) is one of my favorite small moments from yesterday!
  10. Is the ESPN app not offering it as a replay? I thought they always did that with any live event...
  11. I like Guerra too. It really depends on if they feel they can get by with only 3 "true" starters. Maybe you start Junior for 2 IP in a game you want to bullpen the crap out of (probably a game 2 or 4 in the NLDS). Then you could take him instead of Davies. I would just hate to see Keon left off. And not just because I like him. I think he provides a lot of value off the bench. It is a tough call. I agree with what seems to be the consensus that there isn't going to be room for Thames.
  12. Agree with this. I think I trust Anderson more than Davies, but it is pretty clear the brass doesn't. They know more than me. Guerra is tempting too, but I think you need Keon on the roster for defense and speed.
  13. I know this. I did not enjoy the division title in 2011 as much as I should have. I was 25, living alone for the first real time, and so focused on the playoffs I forgot to celebrate that team as much as they deserved to be celebrated I will say this: championships are forever. I want to win in the playoffs, but they cannot take today away. Fly that division title banner, baby! What a memorable run to close the year. This team has given us all some awesome moments this year, and I hope we savor them over the next two days and then add a few more starting Thursday!
  14. 3 inning game. Is it Hader for Rizzo? I mean, I think you may have to use him. Even in a tie...
  15. I can see this. The problem is then you have to get him ready. Plus, then you are committed. Even if Baez delivers here, you still have 9 outs.
  16. I mean, Hader has also struggled lately.... Cedeno needs to get Murphy. Then you can send Shaw and Moose up and get Maddon to burn Chavez...
  17. Well...the Cubs pen has to get 12 outs. If yoi gave me this situation and said taje it or leave it yesterday afternoon, I would have taken it. Doesn't make me any less terrified, but this is our shot. Let's do it!
  18. I do not get anyone second-guessing leaving Chacin in (like the announcers are). It has been clear from the first pitch that we are not bullpenning today.
  19. Gotta love big games around here. A whole page of posts about one pitch. Nice!
