  1. Aguilar is an underrated defender IMO. He is a much better athlete than you'd assume on the eye test. Agree with this. He does make me nervous on pop-ups, though. And his base running is terrifying.
  2. Big double play! I know I should be meaner to the Cubs, but watching how their guys work ABs is consistently impressive. They jist seem hard to get out, and it isn't just against us.
  3. Gameday is fun to just see the EV. I notice a lot of ground balls that look routine hit 95-105. Makes the launch angle thing make sense. Grounders just have to be exceptionally well-placed to result in anything other than an out.
  4. Yeah. Cain drilled one to Baez. Yelich drove it straight into the ground, but it hopped crazy high so he had time to leg it out. Braun's was pretty much a standard grounder to short. Braun did hit it 104 mph. Just right to Baez.
  5. Agreed. Though this is definitely offense-first from them today. Unless I am wrong, Murphy grades out bad at 2nd and Heyward is much better in the corners. Schwarber has good metrics, but we have seen our share of goofs. Baez makes up for a lot on the infield. We will see.
  6. I am surprissed Chacin gets the ball as well, but I get it. The Brewers are a bullpen team. The biggest thing you want going in to an elimination game from our side is a rested pen. If we weren't playing today, the WC plan would be to get 3-5 at most from Chacin. I imagine the thought process is that a hopeful 5-6 today is more valuable than 3-5 tomorrow. Plus, he is on regular rest and hasn't had Anderson's extended layoff. I think we will see a longer leash, but if he really struggles then you hope Peralta/Anderson can eat some innings. Man, how great would it be if our bargain bin FA pitcher gets 6 scoreless while Darvish rehabs and Quintana, the prospect capital bankrupter, lays a huge egg. Let's do this! Go Brewers!
  7. Peralta just scares me in a moment like this. Guy with control issues likely to be hopped up on adrenaline. I don't know. Totally, as has been said, a high risk high reward guy. If I were Maddon, I might lineup Murphy, Zobrist, Baez, Rizzo to prevent a Cedeno start. I would probably start Xavier if I knew it was going to be Murphy, Zobrist, Rizzo. I am going to try to enjoy this one because a Tuesday game will be no fun at all. Just a ball of nerves.
  8. The nice thing if we play tomorrow is that we can still stack the roster, right? Bring the whole 40-man?
  9. I know there are conflicting emotions here, but I am still a nervous wreck. We have already thrown champagne all over one hated rivals locker room. I desperately want the chance to do the same thing to another hated rival.
  10. Look at it like this. We are guaranteed two playoff games if we win (I know technically it is not a playoff Monday, but it is a championship). Were we to win the division, we would get three. Plus, the Cards are going to win.
  11. I remember the day they hired CC after like a 4-17 start. I remember the trades, Stearns comin in, the long 2015 and 2016. I remember the loss to STL last year after going up 6-1. It has all been building to a day like today, to a week like this really. So go get it done, and let's take this division one way or another!
