  1. Happ just turned 36 and sounds like he’s looking for a 3 year deal Wouldn’t want to invest in him for those ages
  2. Will be missed https://imgur.com/gallery/kwPzi
  3. Sorry, I was in for the full season SSH first day.
  4. MLB Trade Rumors is predicting 4/60, I think that's pretty risky for his injury past. I'd be comfortable with 2/25-30, but don't think that would get it done considering what other teams are showing interest.
  5. Someone earlier noted that Stokes to the A's might be a match... in a way, Stokes is arguably a Khris Davis who can play defense. The big difference: Stokes was drafted by the Brewers out of high school, and developed his power later in his professional career (years three and four). If anything, he is a legit OF bench option... and I like him over Taylor for his OBP skills. Clancy, I remember you were in on Stokes years ago when no one was talking about him, good call
  6. Get there early. Everything is pretty much 80% off, so the good stuff goes fast. I got some really cool shirts for $7 each. We got there an hour into it and slim pickings on my sizes, pretty big crowd. I asked one of the lady's and she said they restock everything every morning.
  7. Digital tickets are nice. Just login online and print them if you always have issues. Digital are great for forwarding to people on game day and right before the game, no need to meet people anywhere. I have season tickets and found them frustrating as all hell at first, then I dug around and found you can print them instead of fumbling around with your phone everywhere, all problems solved.
  8. Rumour Milwaukee #Brewers Taiwanese LHP 王維中 (Wang Wei-Chung) might be heading to #KBO's NC Dinos. The 24-yr-old LHP is expect to leave for Korea the next few days to report to the team. cc @MyKBO & @sung_minkim Interesting if this is the case, clearing a 40 man spot for another move?
  9. I wish Dave Stewart was around to nab Robbie Ray, he would be an incredible get for the ball club. This Diamondbacks front office is much smarter than their last, but Stearns recently mentioned in an interview that there was something that might come up that wasn't at all being discussed in the media, if he is referring to this, would be unreal.
  10. My prediction is that noon on January 28th at OnDeck, they will announce their FA SP signing.
  11. Listening to MLB radio and they made a comment that no one has been signed for more than 3 years this offseason, which is clearly a correction in the market. I could see an aggressive 3 year offer with club options for 4 and 5 or more incentives built in that would pay based on performance. I don't think the Brewers will be the high bidder by years or total dollar amount though.
  12. Anyone else find it odd that this was essentially in place on Dec 21st, they finally announced the terms yesterday, but no official announcement and 40 man roster adjustment yet. It’s almost like they are stalling the announcement, waiting on a trade or something that would clear a 40 man spot for him.
  13. Hmm, apparently they are still actively shopping Santana. I think Cleveland might be the best match as far as with a team that could provide a MLB pitcher. They actually have some sp depth and could potentially use some added power to the lineup with the departure of Carlos Santana. Broxton still makes too much sense for the Giants. Mike Clevinger please
  14. But it really hasn’t. In the two years he produced well. The two years that everyone seems to basing his career on they were .26 and .21 below the league average. The other years were he is a four ERA pitcher they have been at the league average. What that tells me is he does need to be exceptional in that category to be the pitcher we would want buying. Then moving to Miller Park that seems unlikely. Kershaw's ERA would go up too if he played in Yankee Stadium, Fenway, and Camden. Miller Park would also be like this, except the NL has pitchers. PNC, Busch, and GABP are all middle of the road or worse hitting environments than any of those AL East venues. I like Lynn but if STL doesn't see value there I will definitely say no thanks. Does the name Jeff Suppan ring a bell? Suppan and Lynn aren’t even close. Suppans previous 4 STL Year’s were FIPs of average 4.8, Lynn’s are around 3.4, same ages, not even close
  15. He pitched very good last year, report out that he is signing with “mystery team” next week
  16. Stearns did say that even if they did make a move, it might not be announced right away as there are physicals and what not. He also was pretty confident on Tues/Wed that within 24 hours they would have a couple things in place. Hoping that those moves did happen and they are keeping it quiet. Realize most things leak out, but they signed Garza and waited like a month to announce him at Fanfest. Keeping my fingers crossed for a big trade and 2 FA signings to be announced in the next couple days.
  17. Sign Reed and Watson and I'd be a happy man
  18. Not to the Yankees, but just watching MLB network and Dombrowski was talking about how he’s looking for a slugging 1b who can also DH. Thames would do well at Fenway. In return I’d ask for Eduardo Rodriguez. I know he had surgery this offseason but it was on his knee. He put up 1.7 WAR last year and a FA in 2022. He’s currently #6 on Boston’s depth chart. We can always find a platoon mate with Jesus in FA for the time being. Would give us a good lefty starter for 4 years which we haven’t had in a long time.
  19. Interesting that Phillips is exactly who I thought of also for a potential Manaea trade. I would absolutely be interested in a Manaea for Phillips. Maybe Ray would be of interest to the A's as well. I think Manaea has mid-rotation potential and would gladly move either or both of those two in a deal for Manaea. Didn't the A's decline our trade proposal for Sonny Gray because Phillips and/or Ray were a part of it? Not sure Billy wants either player. I think Manaea would be a good fit, but imo it would take more than either one of those players to get him. Bob Nightengale reported at the trade deadline that the As insisted that Brinson be in a deal for Sonny. Manaea has more value than Gray, so it starts at Brinson +
  20. After seeing the SP free agent class next year and the amount of prospects we need to protect in the rule 5 next year, I think it would be wise to buy some free agents this offseason and make a big trade or two with prospects by the trade deadline. I was all for minor patches to see where the team was come deadline, but we will not be big players in the Starting Pitching free agency next year and stand to lose a lot of talent to the rule 5 if we stay the course right now.
  21. Wow, price over $170 today Looks like car manufacturers are exploring using the technology for driverless cars Hope some people bought a couple shares, price over $461 now, if this doubles one more time, I’m retiring way earlier than expected
  22. A package of Broxton, Harrison, Ortiz and Ponce/Supak wouldn't be enticing to a rebuilding ball club for a really bad contract and veteran that absorbs $11M this year?
  23. Revisiting this thread after reading a few other posts. Brewers will be tied up with alot of prospects to try and protect next year and will not want to go beyond 1 year for a number of signings this year. What about Michael Fulmer and Ian Kinsler for a few of these prospects that will be up for protection next winter? If they have interest in Villar or Broxton along with 3-4 of these prospects, would fill two great needs for the Brewers. I wonder if it would take taking on some of Zimmerman's contract, who could be a good bounce back candidate as well. We can't keep all these guys next year, need to cash in some of our chips. Jake Gatewood Isan Diaz Monte Harrison Troy Stokes Jr. Luis Ortiz Bubba Derby Jon Perrin Cody Pence Phil Bickford Jordan Yamamoto Kodi Medeiros Trey Supak Josh Pennington Nathan Kirby
  24. I don't think its a good idea right now, I just don't see him as an ace that we'd have to pony up to get him for. I think you can spend some money and get 2 quality SP's and 1-2 quality RP's right now. If we are in contention mid season, that is when I would pull the trigger on a trade if we are looking for a starting pitcher. If you got 2 of Lynn/Chatwood/Cobb without giving away any prospects, the club is in much better shape come deadline time.
