  1. Several of the posts above didn’t seem to take it that way.
  2. Way too early to change preseason expectations.
  3. One footnote on this game. This was a relatively slow game because there were a lot of runs scored and a lot of baserunners that tend to slow the game down. Yet the game time was 2:45. If they can deliver this much action in less than 3 hours, attending games will be a lot more fun than it has been in recent years.
  4. Everything is clicking for this offense right now.
  5. The Brewers have 640 starts on weeknights until mid June. Then they go to 710 starts on weeknights and go back to 640 starts in September. I wonder if it has something to do with school schedules
  6. They just said Sexson and Burnitz did it in 2001.
  7. This series is reminiscent of the opening weekend in 1978 when the Brewers swept the Orioles while scoring a ton of runs, including a grans slam HR in each game. Need to cap this one off with another big output tomorrow.
  8. Like the time a few years ago when he said Braun swung and missed as he hit a mammoth game changing HR in a game against the Padres.
  9. Have the Brewers ever had two guys hit back to back HRs in consecutive innings?
  10. Listening to him at other times isn’t always so great. I was in the car early in yesterday’s game and he was talking so much about the pitch clock and things like that that he was missing half the pitches.
  11. Rowdy can still take the day off tomorrow, but at least he’ll have something positive to think about.
  12. The game is moving too fast. 😀 By the time you try to make a comment two more hitters have been up.
  13. Another big hit from Anderson. Scherzer is the kind of pitcher who can be most vulnerable early and letting him off the hook would have hurt.
  14. No surprises in the Brewers lineup. Yelich 7 Winker DH Adames 6 Tellez 3 Anderson 5 Mitchell 8 Caratini 2 Turang 4 Wiemer 9
  15. Anyone who saw that land in left field had engaged too heavily in Opening Day revelry.
  16. I’m thinking about 2020,.
  17. I’ve seen too many hot prospects fizzle out to let my expectations run that wild after a few games or weeks in MLB. I will say at this embryonic stages of their careers that this Brewers team has the potential to be more interesting than one made up almost entirely of career journeymen and veteran players who are past their peak.
  18. It’s always nice to see new players have some success right away, like Mitchell last year. Then when the inevitable rough spots come (like they did for Mitchell) they still have something positive to draw on.
  19. BTW, the road uniforms the Mets are wearing today are one of my favorites in MLB. A traditional look with the orange and blue nods to the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers.
  20. So far this season it looks like everyone is.
  21. Winker so far has been the poster boy for the value of putting the ball in play over swinging for the fences. Not what I expected based on his performance with the Reds.
  22. It’s going to take a little while with all the new faces in the bullpen to sort out which of the relievers can be trusted to throw strikes and get outs.
