  1. Don’t call him Bad Freddy anymore. Just Normal Freddy describes it. Hopefully Hendrickks won’t mesmerize the Brewers bats as he often does.
  2. Because there is no IP minimum I was wondering if they would take Bauers based on his one scoreless inning even though it isn’t a full season yet. They did take it and I also took advantage of the no AB minimum to get Toro for his over .300 last year So my Brewers were Jim Colborn (0.4), Bauers (.04) and Toro (.07). I was then able to use my knowledge of players from 50 years ago and more to get a total rarity score of 10 without doing a lot of thinking
  3. If he’s DH you’d still have to have Haase in the batting order instead of Hoskins or Bauers. For this game I like Bauers at 1B and Hoskins at DH. Let Contreras be DH tomorrow or Tuesday, or give him a true day off.
  4. I suspect Contreras will get a day off (at least from catching) against the Rockies. A rubber game against the hated Cubs is not the time for a day off.
  5. When I hear a pitcher is having imaging on an arm I prepare for the worst.
  6. And the second pitch might have been a strike and might have been a swing.
  7. That was Happ’s 12th career HR against the Brewers. He’s hit 30 against the Reds, 25 against the Cardinals, and 18 against the Pirates. His OPS against the Breeers coming into today was .763 and against the other division teams they range from around .950 to a little over 1.000. So, relatively speaking the Brewers have held him in check..
  8. They’re letting the Cubs get away with this one.
  9. Hope Payamps can keep the ball in the park today.
  10. Brewers turn with the clown show. Must not have much confidence in Contreras at the plate.
  11. Even with all of the drama in the third, Steele is set to go 7.
  12. You won’t see two runs gift wrapped more than that in MLB very often.. Too bad nobody could deliver the big hit to make it really hurt. Contreras, Yelich, and Adames all looked pretty sad in their ABs.
  13. He did hit the ball hard that one time yesterday and he also had a sharp flyout to LF, but he hasn’t exactly been fine. Or at least he doesn’t seem to think so. One of my daughters posted some thing yesterday that she got from X about the Brewers sweep over the Rangers. Contreras had a comment to the effect of “ I didn’t do SH*T but keep it up boys“.
  14. Hoping the Brewers can shake the hex that the Cubs SP have had over them in most of the games so far. Both Taillon and Steele have had good games against them.
  15. What did he do? Pull a hamstring swinging a bat?
  16. Just the guy you’d expect to come through.
  17. Why you don’t bunt with guys that can’t bunt.
  18. You have to cover your eyes with the Brewers bullpen these days. The number of home runs and near dingers they’ve been giving up is frightening.
  19. Between injuries and players having poor seasons the Braves have been a shadow of the offensive team they were last year.
  20. Good to get the salvage game. These next two weeks have some challenges with the Rangers coming off 4 wins, the always challenging Cubs and their entourage of fans, and then another western trip.
  21. With good reason. Not much confidence in Payamps these days and Megill’s luck with the 400 foot fly outs might run out some day.
