  1. Another gift on an easy DP ball. ETA: maybe not a DP with Adames hustling to second. But should have been easy to get Hoskins.
  2. Another feeble game from the Brewers offense. Only 1 run that wasn’t handed to them on a silver platter, and then they couldn’t make the Reds pay further for their mistakes.
  3. Not so tough for them tonight. Concerns about Peralta facing a hot hitting team were well founded.
  4. Another crappy outing from Peralta whose ERA has ballooned to 4.00.
  5. The Reds are a dangerous opponent that has turned things around after a terrible stretch from late April into May Both teams are 16-13 in their last 29 games and the Reds are 8-3 in June with some tough SP slated for tonight and tomorrow. It will be a tough series
  6. I’m always wary of the Cardinals, but I try not to mention them too often here because it sets some people off. I’m also always wary of the Brewers this early in the season because we have lived through several seasons where nice looking leads in June (and later) have proven to be a mirage.
  7. The way I look at a series like this is to get one win to take the sweep off the table and then go from there. My confidence in Peralta is quite low after his last two very shaky outings. Walks to the Reds are like handing them doubles, so if he can’t find some command tonight will be a long night. The Brewers offense hasn’t been good the last couple of weeks and they’ll be facing two very good starters today and tomorrow.. I see the Reds as the most capable of the other teams in the division to make a run. Let’s not let them get started this weekend.
  8. Probably doesn’t matter unless there are additions to the roster. Regardless of who starts the Brewers are going to need a Herculean effort from the bullpen to have a chance in a playoff series.
  9. You are correct that the runs are all earned because they will not assume that an out would have been recorded without the throwing error. So, with the subsequent hits, all of the runs would have scored even without the error.
  10. That was waaaay too close for comfort.
  11. When I stepped away for awhile after the 7th I assumed Hudson would be pitching another inning.
  12. Oops I stepped away and didn’t realize Milner pitched the 8th. So, I change my comment to Megill should have started the 9th. It’s not like he’s been used that much the last two weeks.
  13. This is where the 3 hitter rule can bite a manager. 4 run lead so they try to save their closer, but when the first 2 get on it’s a save situation but they can’t make the change. So now the cushion is largely gone.
  14. No reason to push your luck with some key arms in the bullpen rested and a day off tomorrow.
  15. That’s more like being handed a run than stealing one.
  16. The Brewers may not be scoring any runs but at least all of the baserunners will keep their metrics up.
  17. No concerns about hitting in hard luck after that pathetic trip through the heart of the order.
  18. The limits on throws to the bases helps too.
  19. What a waste of an out. Why not let Chourio steal and at least give Dunn a chance to hit to the right side.
