  1. Another example of why bunting is often not a good idea.
  2. I love the people who have nothing better to do than scour the boards and pull up posts made in the heat of the moment. How many times this year have the Brewers come back from 5 runs down to win? I think the answer is ZERO.
  3. Does anyone know what the Brewers biggest comeback is this year??
  4. Hoskins at first and Bauers at DH is kind of a head scratcher.
  5. Let’s see what the Brewers can do against a pitcher they might be facing again in the playoffs. They will be seeing him next weekend too.
  6. I was having flashbacks to a game several years ago when the Brewers led the DBacks 5-0 going into the last of the 9th and ended up losing without getting an out.
  7. I’ve seen pop ups like that ruled infield flies.
  8. Nuts to last night’s formula. This is the way to win a playoff game.
  9. 11 runs in the previous 5 games, 12 in 4 innings tonight.
  10. That’s insane. Though Ohtani does usually bat first and the bottom of the Dodgers order is not the greatest.
  11. Not so fast The other side has a lot of potent bats.
  12. Hard to remember the last time the Brewers strung together hits like that.
  13. Now THATS a robbery. Not like the ones where the fielder is parked at the wall and times his leap
  14. Hunter Goodman slam puts Rockies up 9-5 over Cubs in 8th.
  15. The DBacks have been kind of slithering under the radar this season because they got off to a terrible start and have been in the Dodgers shadow all season. At the end of May they were 25-32, 10 games behind the Dodgers and 9 games worse than the Brewers. Since then they are 57-32, 3 games better than anyone else in MLB. They have scored 543 runs in those games, an average of 6.1 runs per game, more than enough to offset giving up 4.8 runs per game. By comparison, since May 31 the Brewers have gone 50-39, averaging 4.5 RPG while allowing 3.8. So, on paper anyway, the challenge for the Brewers against this team will be to contain the high powered offense while finding a way to score some runs themselves, something that hasn’t been coming easy.
  16. I don’t see it as “dooming”because the scenario includes clinching the division title with at least a week to play. And winning 90 games is not exactly a significant goal in and of itself. I am not ignoring the Brewers offense. They haven’t been remotely as potent as the DBacks for several months. You seem to be ignoring that my comment included a reference to the offense not picking up.
  17. Considering the total circumstances, including the remaining schedule and the Brewers current offensive struggles, a 6-11 (now 5-11) finish is not that far fetched. The Brewers next 10 games are against two teams with potent offenses that are still playing to cement their playoff positions. If the hitting doesn't pick up it isn't hard to see the Brewers going 3-7 in those games. But, it's also possible that that could be good enough to clinch the division. If the Brewers do clinch the division during the upcoming homestand, who knows what their strategy and motivation would be the final week. Just look at what the Brewers did in 2021. With 18 games remaining they had a record of 89-55 and had a 14 game lead in the division. They went 6-12 the rest of the way, and lost 5 of 6 after clinching the division title.
  18. Doesn’t that make him one of the team’s hottest hitters?
  19. Montas looks horrible. He’s going to get shelled soon.
  20. This is the start of a very difficult stretch of 13 games. The Giants park is not a good spot for a team that depends heavily on HRs to score runs as the Brewers have in recent weeks. Then 10 games against playoff teams still playing for position. I want the Brewers to have the division clinched before our next game on Sunday the 22nd..
