  1. Wow, thought he was out to be honest. That’s a big run at 3rd.
  2. We probably need to agree to disagree, I just don’t get the comparison. He’s not a starter, he’s closing a 2 run lead in the 9th. He’s just coming off injury and is one week into his season. He pitched yesterday and was over 25 pitches tonight, his last 4 straight pitches missed badly and looked like he completely lost his command. All of the factors considered I thought it was obvious he was not going to recover after the walk to make it 5-6. Just my train of thought…
  3. All of my responses have been about baseball, and pretty rational…
  4. No, did he walk anyone on 4 straight yesterday and look like he had zero command at any point? Two totally different situations.
  5. I have no issue pitching Williams, but you can’t leave him in after the 4 pitch walk to make it 6-5. It was painfully obvious he had no control at that point. Murphy asked him if he was ok, which is even dumber, no closer in the history of ever is going to say nah come get me…
  6. If you have to try to take 5 MPH off to try and find the plate you shouldn’t be on the mound trying to close a game.
  7. Last two fastballs were 92 and 91…..
  8. When he’s throwing 91 MPH fastballs, he’s got nothing left. He’s just coming back from injury and pitched a long inning last night.
  9. That fastball had nothing on it, just hope he’s not hurt. No reason for him to pitch after the 4 pitch walk.
  10. lol, Contreras tapping his head to “challenge” the ball call…
  11. Odd to see Megil activated and not used.
  12. Guessing they want a low leverage situation for Megil first time out? Would think he’s the normal 8th inning guy moving forward though.
  13. Great hands by Ortiz to pick that one!
  14. Nice inning from the offense. More than just the run, long AB’s enough to give Montas a breather after the crazy short inning prior. Wouldn’t have been good to send him back out after another quick 3 up and 3 down.
  15. This whole crop of young guys have enough tools to contribute in multiple ways. Speed, defense, walks… they give you something even during slumps.
  16. That was a 4 pitch inning, nothing like giving your starter a breather.
  17. He’s painfully to listen to. I sure appreciate the BA and Rock games.
  18. Couldn’t remember how we acquired Koening so I googled it. Found the MLB TR article on the signing and they referred to him as a “soft tossing” lefty. Apparently he wasn’t hitting 99 then…
  19. He’s pitching for a roster spot with Megil and Paredes both close to ready
  20. That’s a really nice start from Civale.
  21. Those are his kids. We solved that riddle a few weeks back.
  22. What an inning for Williams!!! 7 pitches to go through Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman!
