  1. He's got leading, um 60, um, his appearing 60 time, appearances, most in league. What didn't you understand???
  2. Smith looking good, I think the days off lately have done him some good.
  3. The new crappy version of Justin Verlander showed up against the Pirates though. Only made it an inning and Pirates now up 8-1
  4. Giving up 2 ER is getting torched? Only 3 innings, but still wouldn't call it torched. 4 hits in 3 innings, all singles and 1 was infield.
  5. I don't have a problem with the call, just terrible bunting by Segura. The only way you stop it is by a pitch out, which they didn't do. If he gets the bunt down the run scores.
  6. In theory those runs wouldn't have scored based on the at bats after them, but they have kept the pitch count down enough we are not likely to see the bullpen.
  7. I read yesterday that Parra has hit over .400 off Kershaw in like 22 at bats. Thought that was very odd coming from a lefty.
  8. Totally agree, let him go into his next start confident. Send him out tired for the 4th time through the order, he gives up a couple, totally kill the mojo of his outing.
  9. Pirates down 1 and just had 2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the bottom of the 8th and didn't score. Could be a very good night!
  10. That has to be in the running for the best start of the season. Fill in starter against the best team in the league and against an ace. Well done Mr. Fiers!
  11. Gomez is fast enough to score from second on any hit, which makes what he just did really really really stupid.
  12. Challenges should be timed from when the original call is made to when the final call is made. If they did that I don't think they would like the numbers.
  13. ARAM! Man is he hot since the break. I was going to switch back and forth between Brewers/Packers, but I haven't seen a play in the Packer game since the opening drive. This has been a fun game to watch.
  14. Wow, Braun must be pretty stoked about that walk. Nice bat flip.
  15. Seems like I say this every night, but I just don't understand why an opposing pitcher would throw a first pitch to Gomez that is within 2 feet of home plate. Big shot, glad he's getting hot again.
  16. This is true, but I think if they keep masterson and lackey in their rotation for the rest of the season it won't end well for them. He had a rough start today, but Lackey is a pretty solid arm. I don't see how he would be a negative moving forward. Masterson is a far bigger unknown this year with the injuries, so that I could see.
  17. Gomez, Lucroy, Braun, Ramirez, Gennett, Davis, Reynolds, Segura, Fiers I like this lineup.
  18. Lorenzo Cain probably our 4th outfielder as well... I would still make them. The run that CC had to end that season was awesome, and there is the winning breeds winning theory as well. The franchise might be in a totally different place right now without the playoff runs. We may not have the free agents we do if the team never showed it would take risks to be competitive. Free agents don't gravitate to proven losers very easily. That being said I'm happy we didn't sell the farm for an arm this year. We needed it then, the franchise needed to be over that hump, I think long term stability is more important now.
  19. Probably should be, but I have a feeling it will be Wooten.
  20. Big win. This was close to a must win in my eyes. Now if you beat one of the two aces it's a huge series win, and if not your still most likely even or ahead in the division.
  21. Nope, he is not. He is one of the best players in the league when he is driving the ball to center and right center and showing some patience like he did last year and the first few months of this year. He is currently swinging himself into the ground at everything and showing zero eye at the plate. Since June 1st his OPS has fallen .116 and his slug has dropped from .572 to .492 during that time. Not buying that. He was swinging himself out of his shoes every month of this season and last. He plays the game one way, looks like a world beater when it works and a fool when it doesn't, but you know day in and day out what his approach will be.
  22. He keeps hitting balls that far and his head will grow right back into fitting snugly
