  1. That makes sense for the bobble heads, I looked at it from a strictly Brewers perspective I guess. I've been a Brewer fan my whole life, and oddly have never made it to a Timber Rattlers game. I attend around 15 Brewers games each year, follow their minor league teams and players, but haven't got to a T-Rats game. Even dumber is that I live north of Green Bay, so it is a lot farther for me to go to Milwaukee. I've already bought tickets to 2 games this year though, so we'll burst the bubble. That is how I noticed the Rogers bobble head day. I went with first row behind home plate for 1 game for just my wife and I, and then grass for the other (we have a 2 yr old, so grass seats, Curious George, and fireworks was an easy sell). I thought the pricing/promotions were really good as I browsed through the website. Having never been to the stadium was curious what are your favorite seats for those that have attended games there?
  2. Just curious, why are you asking that question? Did you hear that was the case from somewhere? No, totally was sarcasm. Find it kind of weird that they are still having the bobble head day for a player that was traded and no longer in the organization. Seems like they would have had enough time to switch it to a different player. The bobble heads can't be made that far in advance.
  3. Wow, Cardinals with 8.31, 8.31, and 6.00 on the upcoming series graphic for starters.
  4. Just wait till the "who do we get at the deadline" posts start popping up.
  5. Don't know what was worse Blazeks throw to second or Broxtons throw home, yikes
  6. The fact that players still haven't adjusted to the rule makes you wonder how strictly it was enforced throughout spring training.
  7. 4.14 pitches per at bat this year compared to 3.74 last year.... Small sample size, but much better this year so far
  8. Patience at the plate seems tremendously better this year. Not sure if pitches per at bat bear it out, but sure seems like it
  9. The statheads say that the numbers compared to hitting the pitcher ninth are more or less neutral. And Craig Counsell says the numbers are more or less neutral. So given all of that neutrality, I'm more or less neutral on the idea. Each spot in the batting order gets 19-ish more plate appearances per season than the spot before it. Depending on who your #8 guy is (Villar?) don't you want that .650 or .700 OPS guy getting 19 more plate appearances than a spot that's going to produce a .300 -ish OPS? I guess if the whole thing is "it doesn't matter"...... why do it? I get the whole "Santana is the leadoff guy and he has power and we'd like to have someone on base when Santana bats", but how many times is the pitcher going to come up with 2 outs and a guy on base because he's hitting 8th? At that point it's just a diminishing return. To me it seems like fiddling around with something that doesn't need to be. It's doing something "out of the box" just to do it. That's all I'm getting at. The 19 at bats per season is diminished once the pitcher is pinch hit for and you have a position player batting anyways. If that is average of 2/3 of the way through the game then your 19 at bats per season become 12. To me if your talking 12 at bats per year then I agree with the more or less neutral on it.
  10. Hopefully 80 is not the new 100 which was the new 120... when it comes to pitch counts. If he's on an 80 pitch limit in his first regular season start then he wasn't stretched out enough in spring training. There was no sensible reason to remove him at 80 pitches.
  11. Jason Rogers coming back for his bobble head game on the 30th?
  12. Dodgers get labeled as big spenders in free agency, but the team they would have through draft and develop would be pretty tough as well. Yankees are a complete joke. Forgot that we did not draft Nelson Cruz, had to search for him in the list. At this point in their careers I would probably have Escobar at short over JJ
  13. Scooter... swings at a curve above his head looking horrible.... belts a solo shot the next pitch. Talk about night and day on back to back swings.
  14. I don't care that he gambled, or that he gambled on his own team... if it was to WIN. If it is ever proven that he bet on his own team to lose I can understand the ban. Then you are getting into the area where you can influence games, even if it is just cutting a couple runs in a game you still win. If you are betting on your own team to win how are you influencing games??? By trying hard?? That is the point of sports! Gambling is a bad habit, but a personal choice. Until its proven that he bet against his own team I don't care what bad habits he had. I refuse to believe you can FIX games by betting to win. If you can TRY HARDER then you would not be an elite player to begin with.
  15. At this rate heading towards a Gomez or Jimenez pitching debut.... Maybe Lind for a situational lefty. Time to start the Badgers tailgate early.
  16. His usual 88. All his pitches were getting pounded. Handful of chest high change ups are never a good sign of how things are going.
  17. Don't know why they sent him out again in the 4th. Ron thought he magically found something in between innings?
  18. That'll take a little energy out of the opening day crowd... Ooof.
  19. Tulo looks like he's having a little issue remembering to stay in the box.... No issues hitting the baseball though...
  20. Couldn't this be done in Adobe or a Microsoft program, saved as a JPEG, and then the picture uploaded? May widen the possible pool if that is possible.
  21. So the search for graphic design talent still a work in progress I see.... Pretty excited about this lineup and pen, if the rotation holds up I actually think this is a wildcard team.
  22. With Wooten, Kintzler, and Perez all in the minors the bullpen depth looks pretty good. Odds are 1 of the 3 would be throwing well if/when we need an arm. I'm among those surprised that Clark is not on the roster solely as a pinch hitter, and now would like to see Herrera over Schafer based upon the number of positions he can play.
  23. I think this is a cultural difference. There are many cultures that openly show death and the dead as closure. Just not as accepted in our culture. Terrible news.
  24. When's the last time Segura got a hit? Was trying to anti-jinx it... Didn't work. Figured I had about a 1/2500 chance of it happening.
