You make them cut and throw to 3rd to secure the run. Smart play, teach that to my high schoolers. Play would have been very close at home. Simple trading an out for a run. He was right going to 3rd, but the mistake was the long freeze just past 2nd base. Rewind if you have DVR, he stopped to see the throw. If he just keeps running he's safe.

The bullpen has been horrible, but you don't win many games with 2 runs. Equally at fault in my opinion. 4-3 or 5-4 aren't different, but 5-1 would be.

Big K on the Brewer killer. That was over the plate if he took it too. Jeffress could be really tough if he can control that slider consistently.

Why do you say that, other than "just because" Jeffress doesn't give up a lot of homeruns. Either in the minors, or in his small sample size in the majors over the last few years. In 41 innings in the minors this year, he has given up 0 homeruns. Wasn't about Jeffress, only because of Willy having a 10-0 ratio on the ground today. Only ball in the air all day was Pagan in the first I believe.

Maybe let KRod throw 2 innings because 40 minutes of terror would be twice the fun.
