It’s been argued in every thread this off season, so not to derail another one, but if the Brewers actually came out in the red last year it’s not gross to trim payroll it’s running a business responsibly.
I could care less about the Pro Bowl, but 11-3 with only 2 representatives is pretty rough. I thought Smith, Smith, Alexander, and Crosby would all have a shot. I'm sure they'll get some alternates, but no love in the initial selections.
Good for the program to get the Rose Bowl bid. Hopefully they play well. Also nice to see Taylor is already committed to playing in the game. Players skipping bowls drives me crazy. Totally get it financially, but still gets under my skin.
The field turf now looks and plays pretty similar to real grass. We're not talking about the old carpet style astro turf over cement. I get the concept of wanting to keep actual grass, but arguments that it won't look as good, or that it's harder on the body just aren't true anymore. It would make the outfield look better honestly. The last game I went to this past year you could see the square outlines of the patched in areas. Personally couldn't care less if they're there, but they are noticeable.
Jeesh, somebody spill what we gave up already. My refresh button is going to be worn out. I'm also in the camp of preferring a offensive catcher. If it's a 1 run game late, Pina can catch the 8th/9th. Also wonder if Milwaukee pitching philosophy will help out his numbers a little. Our pitchers use the high fastball as the K pitch more than most I would think. Does any site keep track of blocking chances? Would guess the Brewers may be fairly low in that ranking if someone tracks it.
Same exact post, two different threads within an hour, both relevant and accurate.... Not sure if I should feel good about the active FA market early in the off season, or start to feel the doom and gloom of being a small market team....
To have a chance I think they need to control time of possession and have at least a +2 in turnover margin. They really didn’t sustain drives in the first game and the defense was on the field a ton. They need to run the football by whatever means possible to shorten up the game. For sure a tall task in front of them.
Except in almost any huge FA contract you literally do not get what you pay for.... Your next post should be about the Packers giving a record FA deal to a running back. Similar success rates lately.
Cutting THAT payroll, yes. As in reducing what they are willing to pay those players. Not willing to go to arby with them, only willing to bring them back at our price. Total click bait from Nightengale. Glad to see he got a click, lol
Last year top 5 football jersey sales: 1. Alabama 2. Clemson 3. Oklahoma 4. Penn State 5. Georgia Three year average football based revenue: Wisconsin - 47.6 million Penn State - 66 million Penn State had a lull after all the scandals, but they are a brand that by any economic measure is going to be bigger than Wisconsin in football. If you measure athletic departments as a whole, Wisconsin inches closer. They were 10th and 12th in overall athletic revenue. If your looking solely at football programs, the economic draw with Penn State is substantially larger. Edit: This Forbes article has slightly different numbers, but similar gap. I think their 3 year segment is one year later. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2019/09/12/college-football-most-valuable-clemson-texas-am/amp/
The best part of the snow was watching the refs try to change directions on that pick. Looked like they were on skates trying to get out of the way of the return.
