  1. On one side of the ball. Offense has been pretty bad outside of the one Cruikshank run.
  2. Nice kick in poor conditions. Now the offense needs to get going. Would be nice to not have to play D again this half. Let’s put together a drive.
  3. If they can keep them off the scoreboard here it would be huge. Really big 3rd down play coming up.
  4. I’m borderline hoping for Mertz, but I’ll give Coan credit on that one. Standing in and dodging a flying blitzer and completing that on 3rd down was great poise at least
  5. Cruikshank run out of the wildcat was huge to flip field position a little bit. Would’ve been equally huge for the D to get off the field on 3rd there, but athleticism at QB will buy you those type of plays. With the sack here, need to get off the field while they’re behind the chains. Offensively I know it’s crappy weather but they have to make plays in the passing game. They aren’t going to consistently run on this front.
  6. With the revenue they have they should be able to avoid dumpster fire level of bad. They can just go buy more pieces. I think Ross will do fine, seemed to have a ton of respect when he was in his last few years playing. I think that would carry over, he'll get the most out of what he has.
  7. LB ??? I fully agree that next year's team could be better all things considered. We will essentially lose 4 or 5 impact players, which is a really small hit. I even made a post earlier in the thread about the lack of seniors this year. However, Orr and Baun are going to be tough to replace and presumably get better. Those are two really good football players and make up half of the LB core.
  8. McCalvy just posted an “inbox” article. While answering the first question about pitching he said Suter is out till mid-season. Did he get hurt again????
  9. I don't think 12-4 gets them a #2 seed. Niners and Saints both look like 13-3 teams to me. 49ers schedule gets a lot tougher in the second half. I think they end up with at least 4 losses. The Saints on the other hand seem pretty well off schedule wise.
  10. 500 yards mean nothing if the scoreboard still says 17...
  11. Defense showed up!!!!
  12. Thankfully Oakland not giving up on the run.
  13. Had a drop down the sidelines or he’d be 80+ yards right now. Hopefully he stays involved once Adams comes back.
  14. Only fell to 13 in the AP. I actually thought it would be worse.
  15. Last 2 games they put 31 on a respectable Colts D and 24 on the Bears vaunted defense. This is a good NFL offense, they are going to score. Our defense missing a few guys, playing a lot more zone than normal. I’m not to panic mode yet, 17 through 3 isn’t a terrible pace.
  16. Renfrow was a guy I had hoped the Packers would draft. Probably won’t ever be a star, but bet he has a very long career as a productive slot receiver.
  17. They ruled that a catch???????
  18. I’ll echo MLF comments from a few weeks ago: “I have no idea what pass interference is anymore!”
  19. Offense really lacks big plays. With the threat of the running game that we have, there should be shots down the field. Seems like they are being really conservative.
  20. How good is their kicker??? Jeesh
  21. What’s with the double punt returners? Wonder if it’s just because of the rugby style kicker? I haven’t noticed that before today.
  22. And yet the Badgers beat MSU 38-0 and Ohio State "only" beat MSU 34-10. That doesn’t make me feel any better... like not even a little bit. Appreciate the effort though. I sure hope we can rise to the occasion and give them a game, but not getting my hopes up.
  23. The defense showing glimpses of giving up big plays. Not a good sign heading into a matchup with Ohio State who has killed us with big plays. A little scary how easy OSU walked through a NW team we struggled with. Not all teams match up the same, but still, we’re probably double digit underdogs next week.
  24. Yup and it hasn’t been great all year. Which for Wisconsin standards is super sad. Wisconsin is called Offensive Line University and I just don't see it. Even in past years. Most OL drafted since 2000 1. Wisconsin 20 2. Alabama 19 3. Ohio St 18 3. Notre Dame 18
  25. Very nice looking opening drive. This would be a great game to get put away early. On a side note, how many games did Mertz play in? I thought it was 3 but can’t think of the 3rd. I know Kent and CMU.
