  1. Demovsky tweeted that Boyle not expected to be cut. He’s either the 2 or they’re keeping 3.
  2. Excited to see some football that counts, and now a weather delay. Sounds like we will see some football within the hour.
  3. Most of the cuts will happen today not tomorrow. There are already 13 cuts posted, no surprises. There’s no reason to cut ESB when he can be put on IR. I will guess Davis stays and they try to get Shepherd to the PS.
  4. Saw Dejon Allen listed as a Packers cut. Former Packer Datone Jones was also released today.
  5. A locked in Yelich doesn’t miss that 0-2 pitch. That thing was middle middle.
  6. Strike two to Cain was 4 inches off the plate...
  7. He’s pretty short, and that really diminishes the value of the bat. Even DH lowers the value IMO. His uniqueness is being a 2B with that power potential.
  8. I’d be willing to give up on Hiura in the field if he played there his entire career. With the time that he DH’d because of the arm issue, he’s probably got the defensive reps of the average A/AA player. He’s never winning a gold glove, but he should be far from a finished product in the field. He should be able to work to get to a tolerable level in the next couple years.
  9. Just because he doesn’t have drastic splits doesn’t mean he’s the best option to hit against a lefty. I would guess Perez has better numbers vs LHP. Maybe he is but Grisham bit lefties in the minors and if he never sees them in the pros, he will actually become a platoon player. True, I actually don’t have a problem with him starting vs a lefty. Just seemed like for one AB with RISP that you’d go with the right handed PH. I would guess having the more versatile Perez on the bench for later gives CC more options later in the game probably played into the decision as well. Just overall don’t expect runners on and the first PHer of the game has to go lefty/lefty. Lack of options probably the best summary...

  11. That was a weird spot to pinch hit Grisham.
  12. Ray is already at 56 pitches. He's not pitching into the 8th Have you seen Arcia and company? Some of these guys may have no idea that's the approach to take. Hope you are right. Right on cue.
  13. Davies was pitching well? He only lost his last 4... On a side note, what year is the IGT picture of Ray from? Looks like about 60 pounds ago, lol.
  14. Pretty surprising given the injury to Burks. Thought he would play quite a bit of dime LB, even if it wasn’t his preference. Also surprising they couldn’t get anything for him. Even a 6th or 7th.
  15. That would be one helluva changeup Reminds me of the King and his Court. I came on to see everyone’s reactions to pulling Lyles. Never thought I’d see this in a post here. My dad got to play against King and his Court in a softball game. He still has a signed program from the game, and a whole scrap book of pictures from it. I’ve heard the stories from that day about 1,000 times growing up.

  18. Think this is going to be pretty accurate, and after tonight ESB to IR makes it more clear.
  19. I think the Trevor Davis cut talks can be at least paused for another week. Boyle looks like he could maybe at least tread water for a few weeks if needed, although prolly not a stiff test with who the Raiders put out there.
  20. It was definitely helmet to helmet. Wasn’t malicious or even the defenders fault really, mostly caused by Boyle’s slip, but they hit head to head.
  21. That was my thought....how was this not identified a week, a month, six months ago? Yep, didn’t this same type of thing happen in a game supposed to be played down in Mexico? Think that was a regular season game. How this is not noticed or addressed ahead of time is ridiculous. I’m really skeptical about Rodgers in a new offense with zero preseason reps walking into Soldier Field and that defense week 1. Just can’t simulate game speed in practice. Proved to be a good call not to play him as Boyle slips second play and gets plastered because of it.
  22. Saw an article that said Cephus returned to practice. Also said he’s ineligible for games because he is now credit deficient.
  23. This paragraph is just all kinds of wrong. A manager doesn’t need to throw a public tantrum to back his players. Showing the world you have no self control proves nothing about backing your players. This also does nothing to get calls. If you think an ump is going to take a brow beating from a manager and then turn around and give them more calls your crazy. If anything it’s the exact opposite. I have a lot of experience umping/reffing multiple sports. I try not to let anything a coach says change anything I would call, but if a coach is on me the whole game, the last thing I’m going to do is reward him with some calls. I don’t want to take my kid to a game and have him see anyone on the field loose it and go off on an ump. To take this a step further, this attitude and belief is a huge factor in a growing issue for youth sports, and that’s a huge lack of licensed officials. Young people that get into officiating are not staying long term. The biggest reason they are quitting is the verbal abuse they get from coaches and fans. It’s going to be a large issue for youth sports very soon if the trend doesn’t change. Beyond that, I like Counsel a lot and think he’s here for a long time. This team might not be living up to fan expectations, but they’ve exceeded most projections to this point. Counsel is well respected by the players. We could have a lot worse!
  24. The Cards went against the book and walked Yelich. Something that we lost a couple games refusing to do. Remember one with Suarez for sure.
  25. Relax ... the Brewers are gonna' roar back tonight! Guess I missed the roar
