Least favorite NL Central players
Frisbee Slider replied to Frisbee Slider's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Harrison Bader, also irritating. -
Also, the Cubs nearly swept the Dodgers in Los Angeles…

Credit the Cardinals for a big win today. Contreras had a full count in the 10th inning and drew a one out walk. It could easily have been two outs, trailing by a run. Cardinals narrowly avoid falling to 6-10. Instead, 7-9 and they host the Diamondbacks this week.

Watching the Javy Baez base running blunders reminded me of how much I miss rooting against certain players. Who are your least favorite NL Central players from the past 20 years? Cubs: Alfonso Soriano (I really didn’t like the Cubs of that era) Cardinals: Yadier Molina (no explanation required) Reds: Danny Graves (worst closer with 182 saves ever?) Pirates: Mark Melancon (never believed he should be an elite closer and couldn’t understand his good years. Overall, the Pirates are likeable) Astros: Wandy Rodriguez (I’d love to see his career stats against Milwaukee)

Jesse Winker, back in the lineup! Remember him?

If the season ended today, the Brewers, Cubs and Pirates would be in the playoffs. Yes, 90% of the season remains but still an ounce remarkable.

Shame on me. The late games throw me off.

Owen Miller at 2B and Wiemer in CF as Turang and Mitchell get a day off. I imagine Wiemer gets a day off this weekend.

Baez with .328 OPS and -7 OPS+ in 41 AB this year. Four more seasons left on his contract. Over $24 M AAV.

Your 2023 Nashville Sounds
Frisbee Slider replied to Jim Goulart's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
How has Frelick looked in his first 43 AB this year? Very few strikeouts but not much else. Hiura seems to be doing what he does. Blake Perkins seems to be performing, too. -
Pirates playing with swagger as they shutout the last-place Cardinals in Saint Louis, 5-0.

Jose Urena starts today for Colorado against Saint Louis. Urena has a WHIP of nearly 4 in 5 IP over his first two starts.

Diamondbacks took three of four from the Dodgers over the weekend.

7-2 and 4 GB seems so much better than 6-3 and 2 GB.
-
Blake Perkins has an OPS of 1.200 in Nashville, so far.

Voit looks frustrated.

37-year old Carlos Santana drives in 36-year old Andrew McCutchen, 1-0 early lead for Pirates. McCutchen with .946 OPS through 21 AB.

In 8 PA, Yelich has .833 OPS against LHP in 2023. And 1.000 BABIP 🙂 Also, 50% strikeout rate.
-
Starting a thread for NL Central chatter: Pirates on their way to 5-2 start. Buy or sell: Pittsburgh finishing third in the NL Central with record above .500?

I think the food on the Club level is good but pricey. I had the hot ham sandwich on opening day and it was $18.50 (with chips and pickle)

Yes 🙂
