  1. I hadn’t noticed the Miami Marlins with equal or better record than Mets, Phillies and Padres through 50 games. With Sandy Alcantara’s ERA hovering around 5. Mets, Phillies and Padres combine for $ 836 million in payroll.
  2. Brewers on pace for over 89 wins and have potential to gain valuable contributions from players coming off the injured list.
  3. I believe this is language agreed to between Milwaukee Brewers and the taxpayers of the Five County Area. The Brewers are entitled to a ‘top-tier’ stadium otherwise the Stadium District (taxpayers) are in default of the lease contract.
  4. Is American Family Field really in such disrepair to warrant a formal warning from MLB?
  5. We are alone in first-place and conceivably could win a series against other playoff teams if we regain health by October. 🙂
  6. Jesus Aguilar has career OPS of .799 against LHP in 697 AB. In 2023, Aguilar has 1.149 OPS against LHP in 45 PA. I assume Oakland would be willing to trade Aguilar for a fair price. Seems like bringing Aguilar back would be a ‘Brewers move.’ At the same time, I don’t think we need to typecast the Brewers’ need as only more offense against LHP. I think we could let Hiura hit against anyone for a little bit In Milwaukee. If Hiura reproduces his .866 OPS against RHP like he did in 2022, that would also be helpful.
  7. In 177 career AB vs LHP, his OBP is .297 with 35% K rate. At big league level. I don’t think Kyle Garlick is an upgrade for Milwaukee.
  8. Was there probability on Mitchell returning late this year?
  9. Kyle Garlick with .651 OPS against LHP in 22 AB for Saint Paul this year. Striking out 33.3% of time, overall.
  10. Career Triple-A Prince Fielder .957 OPS in 378 AB Ryan Braun 1.119 OPS in 117 AB Joey Weimer .888 OPS in 150 AB Jesse Winker .786 OPS in in 684 AB Rickie Weeks 1.089 OPS in 237 AB Mike Trout 1.090 OPS in 77 AB Nolan Arenado .999 OPS in 86 AB Conclusion: it is rare and impressive to produce 1.100 OPS in small and large samples in Triple-A.
  11. There are more reasons to be optimistic for Hiura than Voit. #Ready4Keston
  12. I think we face the equivalent of three AAAA pitchers this weekend against the Royals. Hopefully, we have a lot of good performances. I understand Greinke and Lyles have been good starters but not this year.
  13. Would anyone in Milwaukee’s starting lineup have a near 1.100 OPS in Nashville if they were there now?
  14. Two seasons above replacement level (2019 and 2021). Two seasons below replacement level (2020 and 2022) Houser’s 13 IP in 2018 were essentially replacement level. Conclusion: At age 30, this is not the player you make a multi-year commitment to. Maybe two-years at affordable contract? He probably could get a short multi-year deal in free agency. In any case, no rush.
  15. Among most similar pitcher to 2023 Noah Syndergaard is Colin Rea, per Baseball Savant.
  16. Seems Syndergaard is scuffling this year. Barely touching 92 mph. Dodgers pitching coach, Mark Prior, says Noah hasn’t been quite the same since surgery. Hypnosis and mental hurdles: Dodgers’ Noah Syndergaard seeks answers amid poor start
  17. Wilson Contreras: DH and OF 🤷‍♂️ Contreras shifting to DH role in bid to spark Cards
  18. I can only assume Brock sold the site and used the money to buy a Rockies fan site.

  19. We will take a win anyway we can get it…
  20. Cody Bellinger signed for $17.5 million per year. Bellinger’s defense is far superior to Yelich and at a premium position but his bat was considerably worse in 2021 and 2022. Yelich has produced more WAR in recent years. Perhaps the market value of 2019 MVP candidates is more than we think.
  21. In theory, if three of our young outfielders prove to be productive, they will be making hardly any money for the next five seasons. In that sense, you could eat 70% of Yelich’s salary and still be better off money wise and performance wise. That said, I expect Yelich will have an on base percentage over .350 this year. It makes sense to hold onto him for a while. We probably don’t have a choice.
  22. I think Yelich likes California enough to accept a west coast trade, Not sure we could find a way to make that happen, though. Yelich will have multiple WAR this year. I don’t think there is any rush to trade him.
