  1. Card # 156 from 2021 Panini Prizm Baseball 🤷‍♂️
  2. Does Garrett Mitchell have the worst early season .412 on base percentage of all time? I understand the legitimate concerns, but he seems to have had a decent start to the regular season.
  3. If Milwaukee already controls Turang’s best years of his career, why would we want Turang when he is 35 years old? I always struggled to understand why we want expensive aging veterans, speaking in the future tense for Turang. I get the idea of buying out one or two years of free agency, but at this point it will probably be too expensive, which is fine. If we have a steady stream of infield prospects, we shouldn’t want hundred million dollar infielders.
  4. As a follow-up to my original post about no team that allowed 10 or more home runs in their first five games with a 4-1 record ever finished the season above 500. It should be noted that the 2025 Brewers allowed 17 home runs in their first four games and won 97 games it’s all in how you define the parameters.
  5. The Brewers allowed 10 home runs in the first five games while going 4-1. Only six other teams have done the same since 1961. The 2004 Detroit Tigers allowed 11 home runs and somehow started the season 4-1. Ominously, no team that started the season 4-1 while allowing 10 home runs or more has ever finished the year with a winning record. source
  6. With off day tomorrow, Ashby could be the first man up if a medium leverage situation occurs in the 4th inning? 🙂🤷‍♂️
  7. Right-hander Drew Rasmussen starts the rubber match for the Rays. Rasmussen was a former Brewer who was sent to Tampa in exchange for Willy Adames. This seems like one of the more win-win trades in recent memory. Brewers received: Adames (14 bWAR) Rays received: Rasmussen (11.1 bWAR) and Feyereisen (2 bWAR) If Rasmussen produces more than one win above replacement level this season then the Rays might seem like they come out a little ahead. However, Milwaukee also received Brady Ebel from the draft pick they acquired as compensation for losing Adames in free agency after he declined their qualifying offer. Rasmussen has one career start against the Brewers on 5/11/25, allowing 4 H, 3 ER, 2 HR, 1 BB with 3 K over 5 IP. Milwaukee beat Tampa Bay, 4-2. Rasmussen took the loss. Jacob Misiorowski makes his second start of the season for the Brewers. This will be Miz's first career appearance against Tampa Bay.
  8. Left-hander Shane McClanahan makes his first big league start since August 2, 2023 after rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and a nerve issue in his left tricep. McClanahan has one career start against Milwaukee on May 19, 2023 throwing seven scoreless innings with 7 K and 1 BB. Brandon Woodruff makes his season debut for the Brewers. Woodruff has a 1.96 career ERA against the Rays over 18.1 innings and three starts. Woodruff's last start against Tampa was August 10, 2022.
  9. If Isaiah Kiner-Falefa is worth $7.5 million per season the past two years 🤷‍♂️
  10. Didn’t think I would be confused about excluding Joey Ortiz from the lineup
  11. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40061114/jose-siri-abner-uribe-center-rays-brewers-brawl
  12. I like having a place to observe the Cubs and discuss just how "electric" the Reds and Pirates are this season. Not sure how the Cardinals won their opening series. Cubs offense has been less explosive so far this season with OPS below .600 at five positions in the lineup. PCA with four singles through three games and .665 OPS. Busch, Bregman and Happ were the only bigger producers through three games. Carson Kelly was 1-7 but Miguel Amaya hit a HR on Saturday. 35-year old Matthew Boyd hasn't been very sharp since August 2025. I will be interested to see how Edward Cabrera performs tonight.
  13. The Rays lost two close games in St. Louis in their opening series, salvaging the final game on Sunday. Tampa Bay sends right-hander Nick Martinez to open the series against Milwaukee. Martinez made three appearances last year against the Brewers, including two starts with a 7.71 ERA over 9.1 IP allowing 15 H and 3 BB while striking out 5 batters. Kyle Harrison makes his debut tonight for Milwaukee. Harrison made one start against Tampa Bay last season, 6 IP allowing 4 H, 2 BB, 1 ER while striking out 5 batters. The left-handed Harrison was a top 30 prospect in all of baseball entering the 2024 season before arriving to Milwaukee in the Caleb Durbin trade. The Brewers broke or tied three franchise records for most stolen bases (9), walks (22 - tie) and strikeouts recorded (43) over the first three games to start a season. TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN TOT Ashby 0 0 11 0 33 0 44 Anderson, G 0 0 7 0 0 31 38 Hall 0 0 27 0 18 0 45 Woodford 0 0 16 0 0 22 38 Zerpa 0 0 0 0 17 0 17 Uribe 0 0 0 0 14 0 14 Koenig 0 0 0 0 0 13 13 Megill 0 0 0 0 0 15 15
  14. Woodford for three, Koenig, Anderson then Bauers in the ninth.
  15. I understand Jake Woodford is stretched out and can provide multiple innings?
  16. Meanwhile at Wrigley, Joey Wiemer crushes a ball at his ankles. 3-0 Nationals
  17. I bet Perkins in center to give Garrett Mitchell a day off. Lockridge in LF. Bauers at 1B. Rengifo is better against LHP, he starts at 3B. Biggest question: will William get a day off from catching before Thursday? Yelich should only DH unless something major happens. It also would be OK to give Yelich a day off periodically.
  18. I understand Ashby only requires eight hours of sleep to be on full rest. We can expect him to be ready if called upon today 🙂
  19. The Brewers have the highest on-base percentage (.464) most stolen bases (8) and strikeouts recorded (31) in franchise history over first two games to start the season.
  20. The White Sox send 31-year old left-hander Anthony Kay in the final game of the series. Kay last appeared in the big leagues in 2023 as a member of the Cubs and Mets. Kay was below replacement level during his 85.1 IP in MLB from 2019-2023 but was quite good in Japan the past two seasons, combining for a 2.49 ERA over 303.1 IP for Yokohama. Kay has one career appearance against Milwaukee on July 3, 2023. This was the "Jahmai Jones game." Kay faced three Brewers without recording an out, including Jones. Brandon Sproat makes his Brewers debut. Sproat threw 20.2 IP last September for the Mets before coming to Milwaukee in the Freddy Peralta trade.
  21. Ashby is the only left handed pitcher we need 🙂💪
  22. Sánchez has 16.2 innings of MLB time at 1B Contreras has one inning of MLB time at 1B Quero has only played catcher Yelich played 1B in high school
  23. Right-hander Sean Burke had his best start of the 2025 season against Milwaukee on May 1. The White Sox beat the Brewers 8-0. Burke allowed 2 hits, 3 walks and zero runs over 6 IP. The losing pitcher that game, interestingly, was Chad Patrick. Patrick went 5.2 IP allowing 3 ER.
