  1. If the Brewers' pen is a dumpster fire, the Cubs' is a full-on landfill fire. Even if the Cubs make the playoffs they aren't gonna do much. They can't win on the road and they are not going to surpass the Dodgers.
  2. After Tuesday night's disaster it was good to see Mr. Albers bounce back with a good outing.
  3. His defense still needs work. Luckily for him he can hit or he'd still be in AAA.
  4. Even with all of our issues lately seeing Houser pitch like this is encouraging as heck. You can build a pitching staff around guys like him, Woody and Davies going forward.
  5. One thing Grandal is pretty good at is getting on base via a walk so with a runner on base our opponents have to pitch to Yelich.
  6. Speaking of Woodruff, how much longer do you all feel he will be sidelined?
  7. I have a feeling the Rays won't be letting Bloom go anywhere any time soon.
  8. I was never a fan of his hire either, mainly because he had zero coaching experience. He does leave guys out on the mound hoping they can find the strike zone. Why he rarely has more than one guy get ready in the bullpen is a mystery to me. By the time it is evident the pitcher he brought in just doesn't have it that night he has to get another guy up and throwing and by then it is often too late. I don't understand why he had Yelich hit second either. Your best hitter should be batting after guys who get on base so he can drive in runs. I do understand this team isn't hitting like it did last year and the bullpen isn't as good as last year's either. Hader struggling has been an issue for sure. Losing Woodruff, Chacin and Anderson hasn't helped either along with Davies and Gio for stretches. A manager can only do with what he has. I suppose we could give Counsell one more year even if things continue to go south but not 2 if we don't see improvement next year.
  9. We probably need a final role call just so we have proof of who stuck with that one for the past six hours. <---- Raises hand.
  10. I don't know. He did get out once and three of hits were only singles Man, he can make us spoiled, that's for sure. We get every Marlin game down here and he was good with them but NOTHING like what we are seeing in him now!
  11. Who do we have in AAA that would be better? I too am ready to move on from Arcia.
  12. Who foresaw Hader struggle like this? At least he looked like his old self later in the 9th after blowing the save so perhaps he can still return to form....
  13. If we don't belong in the playoffs what does that say about the Nats?
  14. Arcia plays to the camera in the dugout better! I didn't notice it during the game but on MLB Network's highlights show they had a shot of Arcia in the dugout behind Perez holding Perez' arms and making him clap. It looked goofy as hell.
  15. I did laugh like crazy when Plesac said he was so tired in that boat with Rock that someone had to hold his mouth open so they could pour beer down his throat!
