  1. Man did I create the outrage over saying i chuckle to myself over something so simple as what I said. I didn’t hurt anybody, I didn’t hurt feelings, I didn’t call anyone a racist, and we have a page and a half? Jesus y’all are wound tight. Do you ever laugh...at anything in life? I’m sorry if I offended but I’ve been quite offended over the reaction to this for 2 months after seeing it clearly wasn’t what we thought it was. So I guess we’re even. My friend, I suggest you look in the mirror. You picked a fight with someone who's point was essentially as simple as "be nice and empathetic, especially to someone who's just trying to help during a tough time". And you're now saying I'm the negative one and attacking me. You are literally arguing against being nice. Again, probably a good time to take a step back and take emotion/frustration and examine the info and sources that you're buying into. No, the problem has always been the infection rate and exponential growth due to asymptomatic spread and no vaccine. It seems you got caught up in the wrong stuff back then, just as you are now. The side you're now saying was so wrong about death rate was the one at the time saying there is way more cases out there if we tested for them (thus the whole time saying the deathrate was much lower than the data indicated back then) while your faction was saying these people are crazy to lockdown with such small numbers of cases. And you're still insisting those people are wrong. It is a fact that a disease spread through perst to person contact will have it's spread slowed by limiting person to person contact. The very person that started the cascade which cost us 40 million jobs is admitting lockdown had little or no effect. It’s right there in the open to see, if we were to believe his (also previously drastically false past predictions), we must also believe him this time...should we not? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8379769/Professor-Lockdown-Neil-Ferguson-admits-greatest-respect-Sweden.html Count me in as well to a pass on the first month. I can see the path to understanding what we did. What is beyond inexcusable and costing people their financial (and in some cases their actual) lives is May, June, July, etc. The 4th of July fireworks....really? The damage we’ve done will take years or a decade for people to crawl out of. Some never will, and some will be dead. This is an extremely serious situation. Keep the unemployment payments flowing and the country will go belly up. Keep businesses locked down and the middle class disappears. All of this for a 0.5% or so death rate HEAVILY skewed toward the elderly? What would the rate truly be if governors such as Cuomo didn’t push sick patients into nursing homes? These particular governors should be arrested, not congratulated. I will not apologize for having perfectly harmless and to myself laughs, as they harm nobody. Im probably laughed at daily myself by people, as is everyone. I’m tired of society always having an opinion of what others think and reprimanding it, and I’m sorry that I probably offended by saying that as well.

  3. Raise your hand if you’re still holding anything from the crisis of march 2020.
  4. I guess I dont see why it's funny that someone doesnt want to risk spreading their germs even in an open space. The old adage “you do you” fits here, and it doesn’t bother me. Everyone earns the right to be chuckled at as well for thinking that biking alone on the side of a county road with acres/miles of land is putting others at risk. Might as well just put me in a bubble now so I never see a germ again.
  5. What do you want the CDC to do? Dig their heels in and not change their stance to save face? The point of researching something is to learn new things. How is finding new information in anyway ridiculous? Do you really think they “discovered” that it was beneficial to wear one? No, we had a short supply of masks so to do their best to help medical workers out they lied about it to try and keep the remaining supply from being panic bought. Now we have an entire industry of mask making, even though (in another recommendation) n95 or better masks were the ONLY ones that would be effective. That was before we went to a no mask policy, and then back to oh wear a mask it might help. I do get quite a laugh out of bikers, walkers etc out in the middle of nowhere wearing masks. At least something in this screwed up world is worth a laugh.
  6. Yup. Kicked my job to the curb after fall cleanup season last year and couldn’t be happier working for myself. 1-2 days a week netting the same as 5 days a week slaving for somebody else at all hours.
  7. I care. Injuries are always a risk regardless of circumstances. The Bucks already won an asterisk-less title in 1971. Is there an asterisk next to the 1981 World Series winner or the 1999 NBA Champions? No fans, no home court, just some random fan-less arena at Disney world. I know some disagree vehemently but I’ve been alive 32 years, almost all of which the Bucks have never even sniffed a deep playoff run, and it would be a very meh feeling to me to not see it happen in our own state, much less our fans not experience it. The nostalgia won’t be there for the second title (if we ever had a chance) like it would be for the first. This is nothing like 1999. It’s not even 2020 MLB which hasn’t begun, this is a cut off in the middle season that they’re desperate to finish.
  8. Cancel the season, nobody cares anyway. Liable to be injuries at this point like when NFL/MLB players show up late to camp. I sure don’t want the one title in Bucks history to have an asterisk, imagine other teams feel the same.

That's actually part of the problem - there's too many good players. There aren't 2-3 main guys you can promote to build up artificial rivalries. Jack vs. Arnie, Tiger vs. Phil, McEnroe vs. Connors, Lakers vs. Celtics. It's easier to promote and get fans to take sides where there are only two, max three, and they appeal to different bases of the fans. Another part of the problem is that one of their biggest draws is a guy they want to keep quiet because of his past (Dustin Johnson). That being said, predictability is the enemy of engagement. How many people started watching golf after John Daly burst onto the scene out of nowhere? If he could ever find his game again Spieth was becoming the “new” Tiger, but his game really went to crap the past couple years...first he lost his putting and then began to find it last season, now the rest of his game died. hopefully he finds it again. Crazy that he’s only 26 years old.
  10. Source? This is opinion rather than fact, though, right? You're posing a lot of data with nothing to back it up, and I'm sure the board would like to review the source material to determine for ourselves. 14 people on the reservation near me have committed suicide in the past 9 days, there is skyrocketing OD, domestic/child abuse, alcohol poisoning per capita are through the roof. Low income people have been decimated. And no I don’t have a “source”...it is via a local firefighter/emt I am friends with.
  11. Grocery stores are now not allowing you to bring in reusable bags, and you either have to put the items back in your cart (good luck with that at the self-checkout kiosks) and take the cart to your car and pack them there or use the store's plastic bags which we have been continually reinforced over the years not to do. One of the organizations in my industry is recommending that plates/dinnerware/utensils at facilities now be disposable. Can't have someone wearing gloves put them in the dishwasher. Back to polluting the environment. Most of the big west coast cities have figured out curbside compost pickup and require disposable utensils to be compostable. Although with cities being broke using non-compostable plastic will probably be the result. I do think this crisis has been a much-needed lesson for climate change mitigation. Crashing the economy is not the way to solve climate change, and even the huge reductions in commerce have done essentially nothing for reducing CO2 concentrations. Now would be a good time for a big investment in green energy on a global scale. This crisis has been a much needed lesson that climate change is not a human created event and is something that Mother Earth and the sun are in charge of, and have been for hundreds of millions of years.
  12. That would be very insightful to every side of the issue. Actual and easily accessible data would hamper narratives and accountability for governmental decisions, we can’t allow that.
  13. Pleading for cases to keep nonsensical and irresponsible lockdowns in place scheduled to end here soon. I'll be shocked if places dont start opening up once this latest lockdown is scheduled to end. Nonsensical and irresponsible? Not in my opinion. When we enacted them? I agree. Two months later and a bevy of data suggesting this is nowhere near what we were told it was going to be? Yes. The only deaths occurring in MN are in nursing homes. Not tens and hundreds of thousands of young and middle aged people. The coming crisis of healthcare and employment is about to make this virus look laughable if we don’t stop the bleed.
  14. Pleading for cases to keep nonsensical and irresponsible lockdowns in place scheduled to end here soon.
  15. I’m just comparing the two loosely as the CDC is sir. Don’t know what to tell you. ‭
  16. It’s not really a choice. Do we want to trust private companies and maybe have some people get a flu-pneumonia like bug or do we want a food crisis? I’ll take the former. Trump ordered it in the name of continuing the food supply. Open the small businesses up too for that matter. Its not the flu. It’s not a plague either. “Coronavirus” family includes flu, and both of them present pneumonia problems. So yes indeed, if we are really going to get technical here it is indeed a more severe relative of the flu, as well as the common cold.

  18. I look at anything the WHO says as completely the opposite after seeing how they literally kissed the :&(‘es of China in January, and then seeing Tedros very suspect connections to them. Take it for a grain of salt...it may not even be worth that much. So instead of trying to understand how skepticism fits into the scientific method you are choosing to tie your personal safety to confirmation bias? Confirmation bias of what? Where are the surges? Where are the MILLIONS of casualties piling up? Nursing homes in NY which the Governor forced to take in COVID19 patients by mandate created mass crisis, and now he’s blaming them for it. The NYC subway system has proven to be a major source of COVID19 being tracked around, and it was made worse by the Governor cutting trains. It cramped more and more people into less and less cars. Transit workers paid the price. Elderly health facilities are the majority of casualties, and here in Minnesota the age of death was averaging 85~ last I looked. Each statistic has a name and a family behind it, and is tragic. Life is also a tragedy and any one of us could contract something and die, or die of cancer or other illness because these people are not being serviced by low staffed hospitals. Mayo just laid off 30,000 employees because they can’t do anything! How many people will die because of this? Tedros is a stooge for China, and thus the WHO is a stooge. Simple google searches turn up all the evidence one needs. https://thehill.com/opinion/international/487851-china-and-the-whos-chief-hold-them-both-accountable-for-pandemic

  20. What a debbie downer draft. Pretty much killing any interest I had in sports returning...living without them is honestly a lot easier than I would have thought in February.
  21. Haven't seen a whole lot of people making this argument. Both of those that you bolded have literally been made in this thread. "In theory we are set at QB for another 15-20 years" "Qb is the most important position …….. We now have two, two really good QB." Since you’re quoting me out of context... uhh isn’t that the point of putting your neck on the line if you’re Gutekunst? You don’t make that decision unless you have some pretty strong feelings the guy has a shot at being here the next 15 years. Gute could have oh so easily went the easy route and took Queen, Cleveland, WR, etc and never faced any sort of backlash, pressure on his job, or fan backlash. He will go down in eternal Packer lore as the idiot that screwed the last 3 years of Rodgers career if Love is a bust. They feel VERY strong about Love. Watch 5 minutes of tape and you can see it in his arm. Some throws he makes are ungodly, unlike Tua or Burrow.
  22. Wow you are one of the 32 GMs and you know where Love was good value? It’s called the Patriots were looking to trade up. You are not allowed to cheer for Jordan Love going forward.
  23. Or, which other team/teams was/were trying to trade up to get Love? Patriots. Maybe colts.
  24. Y’all want splashes every year. Now you get a splash and everybody whines. Gute laying it on the line with this pick, appreciate it. Ted would have drafted a DL that was supposed to go in the 4th round. In theory we are set at QB for another 15-20 years. Be happy this organization has the foresight to look ahead and not afraid to piss the starter off (Favre and Rodgers). The Patriots were sniffing...better us than them.
  25. I began in late 08-09 as a college kid, made double on Las Vegas Sands and Ford preferred stock and it hooked me. I’ve taken time off a few times for other things, and the first 4-5 was basically a donation to tax writeoff, but now that I can consistently be profitable I actually prefer these volatile situations (election 2016, fall 2018, now etc), it allows us with smaller accounts to grow it with the volatility. I have no problem shorting, enjoy it more actually because there’s a lot of scam out there, but I do everything except my investments via options. Much less capital risked rather than buying 50 AAPL and then just staring at it for months on end. New people without a doubt would struggle, but I’d argue there’s no better time to learn than during a market like the one we’re in...exposed to the worst right off the bat.
