  1. Chavez would be outstanding. Prado might be an even better option because of his versatility. But the D-backs would have to eat at least 11 million dollars of the remaining 22 owed in '15 and '16. That might be a deal breaker. But he could be our solution to 3rd base the next two years....although he's struggled just a bit this year. Chavez can't even stay on the field...would you even be able to get 2 days a week out of him? He looks old and a shell of himself.
  2. For heaven's sake, please do not utter the words "deal" and "Roy Hibbert" in this forum again. That man is the biggest lazy fraud in the NBA. 7'2 and has absolutely no clue how to play the game of basketball.
  3. He has certainly proven he's one of the best in the game since the start of last year and the year before that, he was just a very good overall player. But don't you have just a little concern in the back of your mind that he's the type of guy who could slump and struggle offensively a great deal? He's locked in right now and even if he was a .280 hitter, he'd be a top 10 player overall most likely, I still have a small fear that he could really drop off offensively with his all or nothing type approach. I think even if that happened, he'd still be a very good player, but not a 6-7-8 WAR player. He seems more prone to a regression than Lucroy for example. Still, outside of Trout or McCutchen, I can't think of a CF'er who'd be more valuable as a FA right now. Buxton will be up there in a few years, maybe even higher than Trout, but agree...the only others I can think of that could be in the conversation is Puig and MAYBE Ellsbury.
  4. #2, #36, and Knight for #3, #10, and Carter-Williams would be a pretty fair trade IMO, and I like MCW's potential more than Knight long term...he's more of a true point guard and has the length we need.
  5. Hammond's trademark has been his ability to draft for upside. Parker doesn't fit the traditional Hammond draft type, but the other three do. If Lasry and Edens don't allow him to select the player it's a moot point.
  6. I really like the Celtic green one, but put the cursive letters on it in black.
  7. What is the infatuation with the 1980's drab green and boring white block letters? When I look at those jerseys all it does is remind me of the past 30 years of almost entirely mediocre teams that Herb Kohl fielded. I would have to think there are others out there that feel the same way. There is nothing inspiring whatsoever looking at those old schemes/designs. I think we need to shift the shade of green to a bit lighter one (one that hasnt been used), and figure out a way to make the letters/numbers "pop." Something to excite people...something that they think "Man, I need one of those jerseys." Are you inspired to buy a 1980s looking drabby jersey?
  8. How have you been getting them...sending to fan mail addresses? I've always wanted to get a helmet or jersey signed but didn't know where to even begin (aside from the chance encounter at a game or taking off work to go to TC).
  9. Adam Rose is why the ratings have been bad. Between him and that idiot BoLieve I about throw up on my tv. What a disgrace to the old wrestling.
  10. Samardjzia would be better than any P on our roster save Lohse.
  11. You guys don't do the trick of leaving a bit early to beat the rush, and then listening to the last inning on the radio? (assuming game looks fairly in hand either way). No wonder it works
  12. Wow does this kid have a pretty swing...time to start praying for him to sign on the dotted line.
  13. Why not get Yasmani Grandal? He's fallen out of favor in SD and looked like a legit pro for quite awhile after he came up. Pretty sure they played him at 1B a few times this year. We could phase Lucroy out at C over time and let him solve our 1B problem. Grandal was decent behind the plate in the minors and maintained his slash all the way up the ladder.
  14. That's not really the point, he might have been there at #41... I don't have problem with the Brewers taking who they thought was the best talent, the problem I have is that he blew them away in the workout. When was the last time one of the players who wow'd in their workout with the Brewers actually was that good? There's actually a rather long list of failures there... I'm cautiously optimistic at this about the pick, I wanted a lefty, I got a lefty even though he wasn't one of my guys. Sounds like the same type of person that says Ted Thompson reaches in a draft. Ultimately nobody knows if the guy would have been there at 41 except Brewer management, and it's pretty damn obvious that they felt there was significant demand for him.
  15. If you sign Morales you can move Reynolds into more of a utility role (1B/3B whoever needs a day off), and UPgrade the bench without looking outside the organization or making trades. I like Reynolds' bombs as much as anyone but there's a reason that Cleveland...Baltimore....New York gave up on him, he'll come back to earth.
  16. They could use Aramis Ramirez...lol
  17. It's even a question as to whether it was worth giving that pick up? Idk it's plain as day to me, Lohse is the ONLY guy we have that can be trotted out there every 5 days and KNOW 90% of the time he will give a quality start. Signing Lohse was undoubtedly a great move, and will be brilliant provided he doesn't blow his arm out or some other freak injury.
  18. And Middlebrooks value has never been lower. That trade would be incredibly stupid for the Brewers. I don't really think it is THAT bad. Middlebrooks has a very plus arm (former Pitcher), ability to be above average on defense, prototypical body for a 3B, and has plenty of power. High upside into all-star status, to me he is kind of a Go-Go late bloomer possibility. He's lacking in plate discipline, and there were news stories out earlier this year about how his vision had gone bad and he was fixing it. What is Thornburg? Upside into possible back of rotation guy, good bullpen arm. Of course you can always use more arms, but we can fill a bullpen much easier than we can fill 3B with a very good prospect. Sell high on Thornburg before he blows out his arm or something. Now we would have to get him inked to an extension, as it appears he's on a 1 year deal. So that would be a downside to commit to that. I may be nuts but that was just my line of thought.
  19. Well, in fairness...the inning should have been over. And any competent manager would have taken him out of the game and not allowed him to give up a 3 run HR. But we have Ned Yost 2.0. RR has very clearly shown a new level of ineptness the last week and if we lose this one, that's 4 games I put almost squarely on his shoulders. Give me a break. Garza was starting to give it up 2 innings before that bomb. He does this every single start in one form or another, at some point you have to trust your 50 million dollar man can make it through a start without imploding...really looking like a bunch of money pissed down the Suppan.
  20. Matt Garza is the biggest thief to hit Milwaukee since Bobby Simmons and Tim Thomas. What a useless POS.
  21. Moustakas is enticing because of the left-handed bat, but I'd rather have Middlebrooks. I'd give em Thornburg for him, sure seems like an overpay but IMO Thornburg's value will never be much higher than it is right now.
  22. Does anybody actually think the league cares who Wang is? I guess maybe the Division rivals might care though...they would be pissed off that they wouldn't get a chance to Tee off on him. I don't think the Pirates even care who Wei-Chung Wang is at this point.
