  1. Wade Miley is our best starter by a lot and that isn’t in blue. I’m not sure what to make out of him but teams just aren’t fooled but they aren’t making hard contact either. You have to be impressed by what he has done.
  2. Huge hit by Braun. We really need him back. We lack an apex predator in our lineup. Too many robins and no Batman’s. Pun intended.
  3. This is a ridiculous statement. Brewers had the #1 farm system with 8 top 100 prospects in 2016 according to MLB.com. What was our record in 2016 vs the Braves now?
  4. 2 of 3? Schoop has been horrible, Moose is not better than Shaw (the man he replaced at 3B), and Soria gave the Brewers 5 IP before landing on the DL. This trade deadline is looking like a disaster. I get the impulse to make an immediate judgement, but I don't think Aug. 11th is the point at which a definitive conclusion can be reached. I'll hold off my judgement until the end of the season and, ultimately, next year, by which time I'll bet... - some of the folks who would've needed to be retained on the 40-man (and may not have kept their 40-man spot) are no longer around to create a crunch, - some of the future prospect-types who would need to be added to the 40-man for Rule V protection are able to be added because there will be less of a crunch, - Soria -- who pitched well except for the grand slam -- will likely have been back from the DL for at least a month and maybe more, - Schoop has a chance to get into a groove, and possibly also Moustakas will prove more of his worth, ... and so on. And any of the prospects given up could become 6 year contributors. These trades will be “won” if and only if these guys are contributing to a playoff and likely a pennant.
  5. The ellipses are annoying but you are in my top 5 posters.
  6. I hate that they actually understand the rebuilding process. Looking through how fast they built their minor league system and trades they made makes me sick.
  7. Davis has like a 900 OPS and 33 HRs which is the primary way the Brewers score runs. We just traded for two low OBA guys who really only hit HRs in theory. Yes we could use Davis now.
  8. Are we talking about the same Chacin? The one with the 1.2 WAR and 4.26 FIP?
  9. You might want to see him pitch against another offense before making that conclusion.... The Clown Car Offense can make any pitcher look like Cy Young... No kidding. We made the Padre Pitchers on 2 nights look like Sandy K and Bob Lemon. If we dont hit Homers, we dont get runs because we get too many Ks to string hits in for runs. Brewers went cheap. They need to get rid of their top prospects for a playoff chance otherwise we finish 5 games out of the WC. We absolutely did not go cheap. We paid a premium to bring in the guys we did. They were just the wrong type of players.
  10. How good is Gausman? We could have had him. Ouch.
  11. You might want to see him pitch against another offense before making that conclusion.... The Clown Car Offense can make any pitcher look like Cy Young... You’re quickly becoming my favorite poster. Clown car offense lol. I thought this was our “Big Boy” lineup?
  12. Gausmam was the guy to get. He just looks like a quality pitcher.
  13. It seems impossible to score 3 runs without a HR.
  14. I saw Atlanta has 9 top 100 prospects. Now that’s a rebuild. Wow.
  15. Pythagorean puts us at about 86 wins and their 500 trend puts us at 88 wins.
  16. No 4 players we have would get Trout.
  17. This was a low leverage spot. Bottom of the order against a weak team. Knebel and Soria just blew it. Nothing more to say.
  18. +2. Ray can’t really make contact or field very well but other than that I like him. Love getting nuts. Why not?
  19. Protecting a two run lead at home vs the bottom of the order of one of the worst hitting teams in the game really isn’t a “the manager made a bad move” kind of game. The bullpen functions better when we have 2017 Cory in there and CC tried to baby him to a save in about as easy a situation as he could. Knebel and Soria just blew it. It’s one loss. They need to keep Knebel out of any high leverage situations and go with the hot hand.
  20. Definitely a 3rd catcher and whoever is our fastest runner because who doesn’t love an elite pinch runner in a tie game?
  21. Yes! I’d love to have these in our game threads!! I used to love these note pages as a kid going to the games.
  22. It's a good thing those months count then! Indeed they do. Which is a very very good thing for the 2018 playoff chances. It also suggest this is an 88 win team if they play 500 the rest of the way. But it’s not like baseball is a sport that has much use for statistics and trends.
  23. The problem is if he mashes he won’t resign for one year at almost any price, and if he hits like he has so far at 726, we won’t commit $15M. His pick up really doesn’t/didn’t make sense in the first place since we have Shaw and the 1B duo already set for 2019. Schoop at $10M or whatever is self explanatory at least at this point. $25M for two guys we really don’t need and who aren’t elite seem like a difficult bet for 2019.
