  1. Lol. Well played. This won’t get old for me.
  2. I find domestic violence to be worse than tweets but that’s just me.
  3. If Nottingham was any good, and not the result of the PCL, why in the world would we trade him for a catcher, even one as good as Realmuto?
  4. This feels like a do we empty the farm for a starter or don’t we kind of start for Peralta.
  5. What a mess of a trade. Stay as far away as possible from those two for different reasons.
  6. This is a major issue. We tend to be a normal team making normal moves where some work and some don’t but let’s not pretend our FO has some magic formula. CC and DJ make it work. Somehow. I don’t have a huge problem with the trade in a vacuum but here is my POV such as it is: 1. Boras is not accepting his side of the option of Moose plays like we hope therefore it is a rental. 2. Shaw is not a viable 2B and never will be much like Miller was not a SS. 3. Phillips seems destined to play a lot in KC and will likely be a 20 HR GG type OF who probably won’t make a lot of contact. AKA a slightly better version of Broxton. I’m not sure what that would mean to Milwaukee but he sure isn’t a throw in type of player. 4. I can absolutely see Moose being a bomber for us down the stretch. Miller Park should be fabulous for him. 5. I thought we were going with the “guys who just hit HRs arent valuable” theory until Stearns trades for one then somehow we now like them. PS: HR hitters are indeed very valuable. More to the point it’s in our teams identity. 6. Stearns isn’t done. Shaw can not possibly be our regular 2B going forward in 2018. Traded? Maybe but then we have no 3B for 2019. We will go to the wire to land a starter because we just lost Suter and Peralta is both human and coming up to his innings. Nelson can’t be counted on in 2018. The rest of our guys are just guys.
  7. If Shaw is really at 2B (and I doubt it) , Arcia is here to stay.
  8. So? That's why Stearns is the boss and they are the employees. Stearns does plenty to ease their jobs, no reason everything has to be to ease their jobs... They signed on to the heavy lifting... I guess but if my employees want a screwdriver I don't give them a hammer, ya know?
  9. Boras already cost his client millions last year by rejecting the QO and misreading the market for his client. I'm not sure it's as completely cut-and-dried as you make it out to be. 'Another example' implies other instances. I'd certainly like to see the list... Miley, Wade Lol for that matter have you see our entire rotation and what DJ has done with them? DJ is the coach of the year and it isn't particularly close. I'm going to give you two DHs but you can put them at 1B and LF if you'd like since you know we play in the NL and all. Oh that LF that can only play LF? I'm going to not trade him for Matt Kemp instead I'm going to let you figure out how to use your third DH. We don't have a C, don't worry I'll trade for a 38 year old who couldn't charitably be called a journeyman. Btw I find it interesting that he has a better WAR as a pitcher than as a catcher. So I got rid of the gritty All Star 2B everyone liked so we could keep the 2B you clearly don't like because you do everything you can to not play him, but don't worry my waiver wire magic will fix that. You like Brad Miller? How about Salad man? No? Ok I'll bring in a 3B to solve our 2B problem that I created in the first place. I'm just having fun here but let's be honest, moving Shaw to 2B is move that even the biggest Stearns fan will really have trouble justifying.
  10. Boras isn't bypassing FA if Moose does enough to make the Brewers want to exercise their half of the option so it's clearly a rental. Playing guys out of position is nothing new but moving a barely mobile corner man to 2B is especially insane because range and agility matter and Shaw has none of those. Shifts of course can help but it's another example of Stearns giving CC and DJ imperfect solutions and letting them do the heavy lifting.
  11. If all we wanted are guys who hit HRs we could have kept Khrush. Well and Scooter since we keep trying to fill his spot. It will be an interesting time until the deadline.
  12. They still have to turn a DP which is kind of important. If the Cubs had done this wed all be laughing at them and rightly so.
  13. Moose has been pretty bad after April. Something more must be happen by July 31
  14. Boras is not accepting a $15M option if Moose plays well.
  15. I don't see Shaw, one of the least athletic players we have ever had, turning a DP. There will be more trades.
  16. There will be another move. No way they are playing Shaw at 2B. I can't see him turning a DP. I know Phillips is having a down year but that's a ton to give up for a rental guy we could have just signed over the past winter.
  17. And doing that all with 0 BB in the month of July. That is right 0 BB. Oh and going back all the way to June 24 Schoop has a total of 1 BB. Since June 1 he has 8 BB and 1 IBB. So over about 2 months he has a total of 8 BB and 1 IBB. Are you sure you really want someone like Schoop. I seem to remember you harking on the team not being patient enough at the plate. Schoop is anything but patient he is more closer to Villar and Arcia than he is Yelich or Cain. Actually a better comp is probably Perez with more power. I don't see Schoop repeating what he did last year any more than I think Villar can reproduce his 2016 season. I never said I wanted him only that he and Gausmam will cost a ton and they will.
  18. Schoop is 1067 in his last 28 days plus another HR tonight. 5 WAR in 2017. One more year of control.
  19. Why? Schoop is going to be about a 1.5 WAR player (being generous here) and Gausman is about a 2.3 WAR player. It maybe a little bit more expensive but not far more expensive. You are looking at Ray and Ortiz plus a lottery ticket instead of Phillips and Ortiz plus a lottery ticket. I wouldn't call that far more expensive. No way. Not a chance. Schoop is red hot now and everyone knows how good Gausmam would be with a defense. Both have team control left. Machado as great as he is was a rental.
  20. I'm fine with that. Depending on the pluses of course. I don't value Ortiz much. At some point there needs to be production. I'd be far more reticent to deal Phillips. Hes an almost ideal 4th OF. Elite D with some pop from the left side. I'm really intrigued by Gausman so I'd pull the trigger as long as the pluses aren't top 10 guys which they wouldn't be most likely. Well if the Machado deal was an indication, Baltimore seems to want a headliner or two and a lot of extras. So let’s add 3 from our 15 to 30 to Phillips and Ortiz who seem like obvious headliners here.
