  1. Whos our new closer? Thornburg? This trade should help us tank for the rest of the year quite well
  2. Would the Rangers have any interest in Jimmy Nelson? I'd rather throw him in than Guerra. I've always thought he was overrated as a prospect. Don't think he's much more than a back end starter. Rangers could really use another SP.
  3. What about the Nationals as the mystery team? Zimmerman is only hitting .218 at first base. Lucroy could split time between 1B and catcher to keep both himself and Ramos fresh. They've also got plenty in their farm system. Could also throw in Will Smith.
  4. If he's going off to college then he can get Sunday Ticket without Directv. When I was in college that's what I did. Think it cost me about $120 for the entire season.
  5. It may be another week or so on Bour. Whether or not I'd drop him or Carter depends on league rules. Bour is more balanced across categories and doesn't rely as much on his power numbers. If it's a points league I prefer Bour just because he is more consistent and doesn't lose points for strikeouts as often. Also I think Stanton has a better second half so his numbers will get a boost from being in the same lineup. If it is a Roto league and you need the homers I'd stick with Carter.
  6. Ive got a smaller smoker that we use for ribs, briskets, or wings. I don't like to use propane, natural flame makes the meat taste better imo. We also have a smokehouse that we use when doing larger batches. We make our own polish sausage and process all of our own venison each year. The biggest thing to consider is the quality of meat. I've gone for cheaper ribs, such as the Lloyds brand you can get at Wal-Mart and even if you prepare them perfectly they won't be anywhere near as good as meat you get from a butcher shop or butcher yourself. Favorite place to get meat from is Maplewood Meats in Green Bay.
  7. If we are just looking for a stopgap CF then why not just roll with Santana. When Phillips is ready then we can either move him to a corner spot or move on. I know he is not a good defensive CF, but who cares if we're not gonna be competitive in the short term. Get the kid some regular ABs so we can get a better read on him and don't take playing time away from Davis so he can continue to build trade value.
  8. Braun should have caught that ball but it doesn't matter anymore anyways. On a side note these Dodgers fans must really like fly balls because they start cheering like crazy at every fly ball the Dodgers hit.
  9. I don't think the Brewers are gonna be very busy at the deadline. It's after the deadline during the waiver period where guys like broxton and lohse will get moved, probably for nothing more than a lower level prospect.
  10. The brewers aren't getting much for Ramirez. Still worth trading him though. Clear 3b for the young guys and save some money
  11. Dont think sending Goforth down and calling up Cravy to start is an option. You have to be up for ten days before being sent back down. As others have said it will be Fiers.
  12. The A's give up nothing worthwhile in that deal. The only intriguing prospects are coming from the Stros and I highly doubt they'd trade Correa. That being said if we wanted to trade Lucroy the Astros would make a good trade partner. They've got the prospects and having Lucroy would allow them to have Gattis DH and play first
  13. I had the same issue with trying to watch Bucks games using my parents Directv account through the app. I'm too cheap to pay for cable so if you figure something out you should let me know.
  14. There's a new season of trailer park boys coming to Netflix March 27th fyi. That's one of like 5 shows I use Netflix for.
  15. Maybe MA isn't interested either but he's just trying to help out one of his former players.... Without the Brewers involved potential suitors can wait for the price to go down. But with the threat of the Brewers signing him they need to act now.
  16. With the salary cap going up it makes sense to buy him out now and spread out the cap hit. We can also use the roster spot to bring in another big guy since the majority of ours can't stay healthy.
  17. I agree with the if it's not broke don't fix it approach. But I could see us trading for another big man because zaza kmart and ersan can't seem to stay healthy. Maybe deal ersan in exchange for a different pf and a pick
  18. That would be interesting. Kyle Cody is from Chippewa falls, WI. Remember watching him back in high school at Mcdonell.
  19. We already have five guys that deserve to be in the rotation. Just save the money and prospects. This isn't a playoff team regardless. But it will at least be competitive.
  20. I would rather have to use Nelson in the rotation than pay James Shields. The possibility of Jordan Zimmerman has me intrigued though.
  21. I'd like to have Dave Doreen back. He did a good job at Northern Illinois and would likely bring Matt Canada back. He's a much better fit than Paul chryst who hasn't been too successful since leaving for pitt
  22. Can't say I'll miss him. I like the way the defense was headed, but I think that was more due to aranda. Offensively though anyone can succeed as long as they keep doing things the Wisconsin way. He really didn't bring much to the table imo. We can do better.
  23. I wanted Morse last season and I still want him. I think he'd put up pretty good power numbers playing all of his home games at Miller Park.
