  1. True, risk/reward there. While I think that for the reasons stated, I also get just having them and the Cards out so that even if we don't win at least they can't. Sure it would be sweeter to knock them out, but it would also sting more if we lost to them. So I guess factoring that in, maybe the extra couple % favorite we'd be in my mind (though I'm sure not in Vegas' mind) might not be worth it.
  2. I view Cubs as the favorite here due to Lester and not having the travel the last few days like Col has had to do. However, I know we shouldn't really say it but at this point I think I'd rather play the Cubs. Their bullpen is in very rough shape right now and we've had the upper hand on them pretty much since the first couple series this year. We're comfortable in their stadium and it would eliminate the variable that is Coors Field.
  3. For us as fans of course we'd prefer the night game Thurs. However, if the next day is at 12 or 1 then the team would really prefer to play the afternoon on Thursday to have more time off in between. As someone coming from out of town who would just skip work I actually don't mind the 3 oclock.
  4. If that's true then we'd be the noon on Friday since it won't be LA that early
  5. I'm fine with any other than the noon option. Hope that doesn't happen.
  6. Boston/Hous played in the day both games last year so NYY could be at night. I feel like Tor got day games every time when they were in the playoffs. Good point on the ratings thing, I really don't know. However, LA is the second largest city and Atlanta is bigger than MKE. So they might figure that as a better rating? Plus seems kind of bs to make them play at 1 local time. Friday seems obvious that LA would be a late game though since it's the only one west of Central time. ETA: here's the link with the best info all right there. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/2017-mlb-playoffs-bracket-schedule-start-times-tv-channels-and-scores/
  7. Well there are two games scheduled that day so we could very well be playing a day game. Did some digging. First day last year on Thurs was AL and two games. First at 3 Central and the other at 6:30 Central. LAD with a 5-0 lead now so almost for sure we'd be the 3 central game since they'll be playing that game in LA. Friday has all 4 games so that becomes a bit more of a mess to figure out but again with one game going in LA and the other games involving Boston and possibly NY i'd assume day game as well. so that's the educated guess that I can come up with
  8. Any educated guesses on game times for either day ?
  9. I was for teh steal. I figured they'd be hesitant to throw with a smart fast baserunner at 3rd. plus it would break up the DP. also 0-2 pitch is often a pitch low and tough to throw. Just guessed wrong and it was basically a pitchout. Hindsight sure, but I think it was worht the risk. Also, to the one saying Braun had bad ABs today. Did you watch the first ABs or just go off results. gets to 2-0 pitch and smokes it right at a guy. Next time hits two rockets just fould that would've scored a run.. Then a bad K. Then that hit. 3/4 good ABs
  10. Yea BRaun with a double in the gap and something cocky after would be priceless
  11. Actually yes, Braun hasn't done anything today from what I've seen. Braun hit it on the screws his first AB. Two bullets just foul his second AB.
  12. Coach Cooper always said "Wear a cup if you want to be a Daddy." I was a second fielder and right fielder. I wasn't planning on getting behind the plate in a practice, lol. After that, even if I was just driving by a baseball park, I had my cup. Dooooooooooooooooooooomingo!!!! Coach Cooper would've been proud of Contreras there though. Popped up and completed the play. True champion can play through a ball on the balls. Worry about it after the play. In seriousness thougn, I was impressed by Contreras there to get up and find the ball before collapsing
  13. Two. Rizzo showed up Arcia too. Really though a lot of brewers have hit the ball hard today but into outs. Schoop smoked one. Braun hit hard his first time and two bullets just foul his second time. We've certainly had better contact than them but that's baseball
  14. He hung one slider to a great hitter, pitched great otherwise. Though I think that Hayward hit is gone without the wind. I'd even hope to let him go 1 more inning. Save a lefty for Rizzo and the guys after him next time up
  15. Was it Coach Cooper? THAT was funny right there... That's gold Jerry, gold.
  16. I mean, it IS a really good lineup. They've been woefully inconsistent this season, but that's a top-3 lineup in MLB when they are on. I actually disagree. They seem super good on paper because Almora, Contreras, Schwarber, Russell, etc once upon a time had decent stretches but really are not that great of hitters. Their lineup is certainly better when Bryant isn't injured. But really it's Rizzo/Bryant that make their offense go. Baez is starting to step up as a solid 3rd best hitter but the rest is very mehh. They don't have an Arcia/Kratz type in their lineup like most teams. Having 8 solid hitters is a huge step up to most teams.
  17. I mean, it IS a really good lineup. They've been woefully inconsistent this season, but that's a top-3 lineup in MLB when they are on. Right, I think they're 3rd or 4th in the NL in runs scored with Bryant hurt all year and have also added really good Murphy at the end too. Their lineup is good, plus for the most part they're smart patient hitters all the way, ironically besides Baez
  18. Seems like we hit the ball well the first time through the lineup. hopefully keeps going but gets runs this time around.
  19. Name a substantial player on the brewers that hasn't been on the DL? Shaw, maybe Aguilar. That's about it. All of Braun, Yelich, Cain, Thames, Pina have seen time on the DL. Heck shaw may have as well. Every team has had their injuries, cubs can eat crow. Let's goooooo!!!!! 2nd or 3rd best P going into the year has also basically missed the vast majority of the year in Davies.
  20. Meh, I get it but every sport has wild cards and I kind of feel like it's BS that you don't get a shot sometimes based on where you're geographically located. For example, one of the years the Twins won it all they won like 85 games while the Brewers didn't even make the playoffs with over 90 wins.
  21. The WR Taylor is perfect for the jet sweeps. He was a RB in high school. It also is more deceptive when you have a WR to do it with rather than putting in two RBs.
  22. With how lefty heavy they are I wouldn't be expecting multiple innings from Peralta. I'd guess a lefty opener then Chacin for as much as he can go. Then worry about tomorrow if you need to, but we'll see.
  23. You gotta remember the Pirates catcher on Sunday? Jogged after the ball then threw it away for 3 runs. doesn't make it any less weak, but just happened in our favor too
  24. Saw that Kershaw is scheduled to pitch Saturday. With LAD now in a battle I don't see why he'd be skipped in that game as they try to win the division. I suppose maybe they could give up if they lose Friday and Col wins today and Friday but that seems unlikely. So, basically he likely won't be available for the WC game. the lined up starter would be Stripling as of now. Buehler if LAD is out of it come Sunday and can hold him back.
  25. WGN airs a lot of Married with Children these days, classic.
