  1. Make use of your local UPS Store and/or FedEx Office. I'm an apartment dweller and I'm most likely not going to be home on a weekday during business hours, even if a signature isn't required there are some things I don't want laying out in front of my door for anyone with building access to take. Once you have tracking info, log in to their website to track and click change delivery address. More often than not you can have them deliver to a UPS/FedEx store for free, that way you can pick it up and sign for it on your time. If it's USPS then it's not always as easy but I think there are similar workarounds to that also. Edit: Still sucks in your case since you were able to be home, I was kind of reading it as you took off work to wait for your package but that may not have been the case. Saw something online today of a UPS package being left. Then a car driving by and noticing it sitting there. Woman gets out to steal it. it's kind of a rainy so after like 3 steps she slips and breaks her leg. You can see it bent wrong like when it happens in basketball or football, boyfriend hops out and carries her to the car. Karma is a B I guess. Being online, who knows if it was doctored but it all seemed legit.
  2. It is absolutely NOT illegal to use social media posts as a reason not to hire someone, or fire them. Unless you use that as a reason to discriminate against someone that falls into one of the protected classes. I don't know of any company who doesn't check out someone's social media as part of the interview process. In my opinion, I really don't hold things against someone for stuff they posted in HS or college. I may ask about it, but for the most part I chalk it up to young people do and say stupid things, I know I did. If it's more recent activity though, sure, I ding people all the time. I don't this of course, but in theory I could choose not to hire someone for being a Cubs fan. Nothing illegal about that. I might not remember the exact phrasing as I was likely barely paying attention. Maybe it was just out of a don't do it type of thing just to eliminate the possibility of some BS. I don't recall for sure I guess how it was presented. But the fuss they were making about it seems like legislation in some states seems to be going down that line. I see how it goes, someone makes a fuss because they weren't hired for anything (religion, being pro or anti trump, gun rights, whatever controversial thing) and then you have to deal with it. But I guess I don't remember for sure and even still it might just be one of those things HR has to say even though they know it's still going to happen.
  3. If you're giving one guy a 'one last shot' for the next few weeks before going another route then Villar is clearly the one and I don't know how it's even debatable. And I hope it's done in a way to just let Villar and Arcia play almost every day instead of this revolving door way they've been doing it. That way you know and there's no excuses. You're being given a several week audition, no jerking in and out of the lineup, put up or shut.
  4. AZ running out of the gates hurts the Brewers imo. Almost assures at least one of the WC comes out of the west since the Dodgers are almost for sure going to make the playoffs. Only leaves one WC.
  5. I'd guess the proverbial whipping boy will be moved to Suter for the time being, he already probably get a bit too much grief than what he deserves. I've definitely been one of them on Drake, and I do grant this year he was skewed by the blowup inning but he just never should have been on the team after how bad he was last year. And even his scoreless ones this year seemed to be aided by a lot of luck on outs on hard hit balls. And he was seemingly always up in the strike zone.
  6. Tied for first place (I know % behind) and Drake is gone. Today is a good day
  7. For the love of god, just let it be Drake and have his time over.
  8. WAR should be renamed to something like Player Efficiency Rating. People take the "replacement" thing way to literally.
  9. Good point and obviously it's good that he's being a team player. But yes if this continues at some point he and his agent see the 200 mil contracts starting pitchers get and they likely have to look at that route. Adding to bill hall's post. The taking 2-3 innings also trickles down to saving the other top guys in the pen days off. With the current BP usage strategy that will be big later on to try and keep these guys from being overworked. I do grant the 11-0 is skewed in that he's probably had a lead in almost all of those games when he came in. But still, he basically ices the game which of course is great.
  10. Dave Duncan was a catcher and Leo Mazzone never made it out of the minors. Looking at their playing careers is just an absurd way to judge someone's coaching ability.
  11. With Seager out, it popped in my head for LAD to go for Machado. They have a loaded farm and unlimited money. Sounds like they could find a way to stay under the tax this year and then just re-sign him and play Seager at 2B when he's back. Seager and Bellinger will be cheap for a few more years. I just don't see why not to try if I'm them.
  12. Might also speak to the need to actually go through spring training.
  13. What's this about? Brewers fans not being particularly good fans..... selling out to Cubs fans..... giving the best seats in the park to the enemy. It's more about another guy insulting other fans/posters while not putting his own money where his mouth is.
  14. I brought this up a few weeks ago. Though it's probably a minimal difference (as pointed out already) if something doesn't improve soon it wouldn't surprise me if they shake it up. Basically, you don't have much to lose. Get a new set of eyes, new voice. Maybe it provides a spark of some kind.
  15. I trust that you attend every Cubs at MP if you're going to talk this black/white about it. One a year.... in proportion to other Central teams. I go to 10 or 11 games a year. I have tickets in the Loge bleachers for the next Cubs game in June. Not going or selling to Cubs fans are two different things. Not going= Brewers fans might get the seats. Selling to Cubs fans= the deed has been done- you're part of the problem of giving away the BEST seats to a division rival team. And that is the issue.... Miller Park Cubs games. It is a problem. As is now, many Brewers fans stay away from these games for various reasons. Selling= the ticket can be bought by anyone, including Cubs fans. You have no idea who buys it. Not buying= the ticket can be bought by anyone, including Cubs fans. You have no idea who buys it. By not buying every game and valuing your money over it must mean you're fandom must be in question. You be the sellout. I'll be the cheap skate. Both of our fandoms are in question. Better? I'm fine with mine. You? They are the exact same thing. And yes, I'm fine with mine. Although I didn't sell any Cubs games this year, only last year.
  16. I vouch for Last Man as well. I've liked it the whole time but feel like this is the best season.
  17. Oh, I'm not the biggest Brewers fan. There are plenty of people who follow the team more closely, go to more games, yearly travel to spring training, go to Brewers on deck, listen religiously to Uecker, keep score, read everything Brewers on jsonline, and spend more at Miller Park. So, no, I am not trying to position myself as a better Brewers fan than most. I just can't fathom why we as a fan base want to give Cubs fans a foothold in our park when we could just keep our tickets and make a better (not perfect) home field advantage. I'm tired of people trying to justify their selling and then try to rationalize why being a sell out is the smart thing to do. These don't go hand in hand. Either you sell out, get more $, and your fandom is in question, or you keep the tickets and cheer your butts off for the good guys, and you're less rich. 18. Yes, Turbo that is it. Plus you can reasonably trust him for 2-3 innings or even more in situations that warrant it: like an extra inning game, blowout one way or the other, doubleheader due to rainout, spot start due to a small injury. As much as he's bashed here, he has still been ok/mediocre/not horrible. For me, I saw Woodruff gassing it up at 97 on Saturday and just don't get why we don't want him in the rotation. Maybe they're limiting his innings in the minors and plan on him taking over at some point. But Jimmy will be back in the next few months too so I'm not sure that's it at all.
  19. Parking is more for Cubs games. Everything else is the same to my knowledge.
  20. This nails it. They're going to go anyway so it's better to make some money off them. That said, the idea earlier about some kind of discount that proves you actually used your tickets would be a better idea than what they tried this year with the early buy period. That was for sure not going to change anything.

  22. If Walker came available would they even cut him for Sogard though because of not being able to play SS? I don't recall the last time Perez has played SS so I'm not sure they consider him a backup there or not. I guess just cut Perez, but then you're completely lefty heavy.
  23. Usually you don't want to do that with the bases loaded. Much easier to get an out at home on a force than on a tag. Or with one of your best hitters. who is also best known for being a contact no strike out guy. Get a hit and you're ahead instead of tied. I play to win. That'a ding dong most days
  24. Yea let's give Woodruff his starts already and put Suter in Drake's spot.
