  1. They were winning in the Western Conference last year before canning the coach. then hiring another, then firing him, then hiring another. Now that coach is pushing him out. [sarcasm]Yea I don't see how a great player would be mad about being in the situation while wasting his prime years.[/sarcasm] Sacramento is a joke and I just wouldn't right the guy off before seeing how he does in a descent situation. I know he is responsible for the baby/pouting antics but again the guy is only 24, how would all of us handled this kind of spotlight at age 20-23? If not for this stuff the he wouldn't be available, I'm just saying it could be a great buy low opportunity and hope you hit the lottery. Ignore the media and look into his community type stuff and you'll see there isn't really any issues (no off-court BS so far) there and he actually seems pretty smart and speaks well. Lots of community and kids charity stuff. Actually a good comparison would be Chris Webber, everyone would have said the same about him when Sacto got him, then he grew up and got in a good situation and boom they're title contenders. Of course he could blow up here as Kidd has a brash personality too, basically if Kidd vouches for him they'd be stupid not to look into it. If Kidd doesn't want him, that's it. As a small market team these are situations you have to look into, besides the draft it's the only way to get a superstar player and it's a lot less risky than the draft because at least you know what you're getting. Cousins caused no issues on Team USA or at Kentucky. Keep in mind Jason Kidd is a wife beating multiple time drunk driver, nobody seemed to concerned about trading for him his whole career and then bring him in as coach. Jabari Parker has a torn ACL, you don't know what he'll become.
  2. Boogie is a top 10 player who averaged 24 and 12 the last few years in a disaster situation. Put him on a good team with a coach he respects and it could change him around. They've changed GMs and coaches like 8 times since he's been there and he's still only like 24 with a three or four years left on his deal. He didn't cause any problems while on Team USA, and actually if you get away from the media spin and look into him a bit he's pretty well spoken and heavily involved in charity stuff and has never been in any off court trouble that i'm aware of. This is the type of situation a small market like MKE needs to look into. Due to his baggage you can get him cheaper, heck without the baggage he would be untouchable. Of course you need to see what kind of relationship he and Kidd have and if he'd be ok with playing in MKE. If he's set on being in a big market then you can't do it as he'll just pout his way out of town. Parker coming off a torn ACL, a 1st round pick that will be in the late teens or 20s (us or LAC pick) is too much for him? Henson is a backup C and Mayo has one year left and is just filler. The deal is essentially a mid to late first and Parker off a torn ACL. If anything I would expect SAC to walk from that deal since the Lakers will probably give them the #2 and some future firsts or some players they pick up in a 3 way deal. We might have to toss in this years pick and next years.
  3. I like him too but he is short, not sure they want a guy out there who they can't switch with on D. If they're ok with short they could probably get Ty Lawson on the cheap from Denver, he loves drinking and driving so he'd fit in well in WI. I would also be seriously looking at Boogie Cousins. Parker, Henson and a 1st might do it. Maybe have to toss in some salary filler like Mayo or Bayless.
  4. http://www.brewhoop.com/2015/6/23/8831089/2015-nba-draft-milwaukee-bucks-trade-rumors-henson-carter-williams?ref=yfp Not sure who else they'd be moving up for other than WCS. Unless they think they can get to the top 5 which seems really unlikely. I guess I see the logic, can probably survive for a year with Bayless/Ennis and whoever else they pick up as a FA if needed and then worry about a PG next year since they're easier to come across.
  5. Yea Workaholics and the League are better than Broad City. Though I think BC is really good, I see how it might not be for everyone though. With how bad the Brewers have been I've had time to blast through Archer, wow that is some good stuff. I also went through Better of Ted. If you like Arrested Development you should like both of those, very similar writing
  6. I disagree, they should come out and either get paid money in the NBA or overseas rather than play for free. Just look how many people declare for the draft knowing they have no shot in the NBA, they just want to go Europe and get paid rather than sitting through classes they don't care about and playing for free while risking injury.
  7. Wouldn't surprise me if they do factor in the WI roots. With all the PR needed for the arena and to sell tickets. Tons of people got behind that Finals run. Yea I don't know anything about WCS personality other than he's covered in tats. I've never heard anything about incidents. So hopefully they do the research on him as his game is what they need(well other than getting a complete C like Towns but that isn't happening.
  8. Sorry for the typo last post, don't know what that was. The more I think about WCS I think they should try to go up and get him, should be exactly what they need. And from what I saw he has good enough hands to catch and dunk. Unless he has some character issues but just do your homework
  9. I agree with FV, the three starters have to learn how to shoot. However, we'll need a be not shooter to replace mayo after next season so drafting a guy like that could still make sense if the right big isn't there. The cap is going up almost 33%. 15mil will be about the same as 10 now. Really any starting player going forward will likely make at least 10mil after their rookie contract. Cap will be pushing 100mil to pay only like 8 or 9 guys, then roster filler for near league min
  10. I think Sanders was what we needed. He was a competent catch dunk guy in his one really good season, man he was aggressive attacking the rim. The last two years he forgot how to catch the ball and couldn't function on offense. He was it but somehow lost it. Harrell is listed at 6'8 and I'd be shocked if he is even that tall. Undersized PF with character issues, no thanks
  11. Keep in mind deals are only 4 years now. Barring injury it's tough to get locked in a brutal one. Need something like josh smith to happen. I mean, you're signing him for age 23-27, that's ideal. Yea maybe he'll never be more than a role player but you'll be getting something good out of him no matter what. There won't be van horn and arenas deals being floating around the league anymore
  12. I'd expect them to spend it on a big. I expect Lopez from the nets but I don't want it. I'd rather get a Mozgov type or just use the space to sign Middleton and then keep building through the draft. Wouldn't surprise me on Mathews coming home. Sharpshooting is needed but he's kind of the same position as Middleton. I know people who know him and they say he wants to play for mke at some point if it works out. He still spends a lot of time in Madison.
  13. Could the AAA SS Rivera be molded into a 3B at all, kid is 6'3? I'm not too familiar if he's really considered much of a threat to make the bigs as a starter. Segura, Arcia and him around infield. Also, Brewers are now not the worst record in the league. Making a charge for the WC now.
  14. Love the new uniforms. When I first saw the new M logo I was concerned they were going too modern/futuristic but everything else has retro feel too it. Perfect. Championship in 2019
  15. Wow, can't believe this concept is so hard to grasp. Bucks players income is roughly what 70mil (yes I know they pay their road taxes in road states but it's balanced by the road team paying when here). 35 mil of that is paid into taxes, I don't what % is stave vs federal but that tax is now 100% gone. Moreover, the cap is about to skyrocket to around 100mil, so it's only going up because the league is exploding worldwide. Now throw in corporate taxes on a billion dollar company. This is all gone if they leave, it literally pays for itself. Getting 50% paid by the owners is a much better deal than any other city gets. This is a no brainer.
  16. Of course it won't go to 0% but it will go drastically down. For the shows you're talking they're not jonesing to get to MKE in the winter and even those aren't averaging 15K in attendance(over 18K if they actually get good) and most importantly you're losing the taxes from the NBA. This bill literally pays for itself. It's a 100% no-brainer.
  17. Robert, I applaud you for sticking to your guns but I think everything you're saying is completely countered. Of course there is dirty politics, good luck find a bill that doesn't include dirty politics, don't act like this is weird, it's the only way to get stuff done. If the deal didn't get done the people on the side of wanting to keep the bucks can say it was dirty politics in not getting the funding done.
  18. of course an argument can be made that taxpayers should never have to foot the bill, but the reality is that if one city doesn't another will and that's what we're dealing with here. This deal is drastically better (for the taxpayers) than what most other cities/states have done, that's why people are saying it's a good deal. Losing the revenue would be huge. You're not going to book 41 acts in the winter in WI that generate anything close to this income. I don't know how taxes work for musicians/concerts etc. but the tax revenue alone from losing the Bucks players is huge and basically pays for this on it's own over the long haul. That's not even factoring whatever corporate taxes they have and all the jobs lost to normal people. And all the jobs created by the construction (and taxes paid from them). It's a win for everyone. Moreover, how do you think Seattle feels about losing the billions that KD would be generating for their city? That's what we're facing with Giannis, in 3-4 years it's possible he's a top 5 star in the league. Of course it's no guarantee but having a star like KD/Bron is huge for the city. Think back to the stories about how much Cleveland lost when Lebron left and how much they gain when he came back. Now, if they had a deal in place that if the Bucks left that an NHL team would replace them, then you'd have a debate. But it sounds like Vegas and Houston will get the next NHL teams.
  19. Giannis could be our Lebron in that he can basically play PG but guard PFs. They're also going towards a switch everything defensive strategy (as you see GSW doing, they won the game last night playing 6'7 Green at C) which alleviates some of these concerns. The key to the Bucks is having 2/3 of Giannis, Jabar, MCW into legit bucket getters. Jabari should for sure have that in him as long as his knee doesn't derail him.
  20. Gomez is 2years ahead of him currently and that's w/o PEDs. I'd put my money on Gomez being a past user if I had to bet on it.
  21. That's the first time I ever heard that stat, if it's true it at least makes a discussion. All you ever hear is some dumb thing about creating another leadoff hitter.
  22. Or take a look at how the Phillies have done trading their people the last few years. Just saw an article about this the other day. Yea of course they should have traded Howard, Utley, Rollins, Hamels too but for all the guys in recent years they've only gotten back one guy who might make the big leagues (and I think it was in the Jimmie Rollins deal last year). You see this way more often than not, tends to put me in the camp of thinking prospects are generally overrated.

Send him down? Cmon, give people time to improve and learn. Has a sub 4 era and has kind of been the definition of average. Even Kershaw struggled when he first came up (yea he was 20), can't just be jerking people around like that.
  24. The home plate ump was a joke last night. He does his job horribly and then gets upset when people tell him he's doing it horribly. Braun did everything the right way, first pitch was clearly not a strike, shakes his head and says something while looking way so not to 'show him up'. Next pitch is even further low and outside and he calls it a strike out of spite. These umps should be reprimanded for things like that, the first one can just be chalked up to missing a call, it happens. To call the next one just to spite the hitter is BS. Then for some reason the general public usually sides with the ump saying player should just grin and bear it.
  25. Segura had been doing well at leadoff and Gomez came through a few times batting cleanup. Then yesterday Segura back to the bottom and Gomez to leadoff. I hate wasting Gomez's power at leadoff and also with his brutal baserunning I hate him running into outs while Braun(or whoever in the middle) is at the plate. I really want Segura given every shot to get back to what he was and the best way to do that is to give him 3-4 weeks at the top and see how he does.
