  1. The problem was if they had tied the Raiders were set to play KC. So I think they would have done anything in their power to not tie. While they both would have made it, the Raiders would have had a horrendous first opponent.
  2. How dumb can one really be to believe that story and run with it. I mean, come on man.
  3. I wonder sometimes how many actually have no mortgage or rent in retirement. It just seems so many pay off (or get close) to paying off that first mortgage and make the big upgrade to a new house. Thus pretty much having a mortgage forever. It is certainly a major financial advantage if you pay off your original mortgage and stay in that house...it just seems really unlikely these days many are doing that. In some ways you save in retirement...but in other ways not so much. The average person probably travels A LOT more in retirement than they did prior. That is probably a big expense to be adding yearly.
  4. If the guy blocks it, can you really call a foul because the guy tapped hips? Isn't that like hitting a guys hand after a block, where if you hit the ball first it is fine? If Davison throws his leg into a guy to create contact, is that a charge? Can there be a foul on the defense for one thing, but then give a flop warning/foul on the same play to the offensive guy? I mean if they had called the foul for hitting his wrist, it seems a bit more straight forward. However, blaming it on hip contact leaves so many questions. On another note Tyler Wahl is really turning into a solid guy and while Hepburn can be inconsistent his hustle is impressive. Crowl though...maybe just me, but he seems to leave a lot to be desired defensively. Seems like a guy with height and no athleticism.
  5. Kinda glad I graduated into a decent economy with a good knowledge of investing/401Ks. I think I had enough in retirement at about 24 for it to project to be $1mil at retirement. That was just casually chasing the 5% match. I want to find a different job sooner or later though so I can opt out of the pension...that money would do me way more good invested into the market versus some marginal pension amount decades from now. I also maxed out my carryover leave year to year so when I eventually move on I can take the leave payout and put it into retirement.
  6. At what point does $1mil stop being a gold standard to look at? I mean, maybe that is an okay amount for someone retiring in 2022, but if you were talking to someone 20-40 years out....I don't think $1mil is really the greatest benchmark.
  7. Aaron Rodgers is apparently this massive distraction. Buuuut yet no players seem to care at all, I don't think there was a single anonymous complaint and many were just openly backing him. And you know, they are 13-3 despite many major injuries and now have double bye weeks. Distraction? I mean, seems unlikely. If he was a distraction, it was a meaningless one. I think it is pretty overblown. The entire thing happened after the season and then before training camp. No player really cares what happens in that timeframe. They are all chilling in Malibu on the beach just like Rodgers was.
  8. I’ve watched the whole game and honestly have no clue what your talking about? I haven’t seen anything close to being disrespectful. Are you saying his leg coming out on a 3 means he’s not a respectable player, or did I completely miss something? Clearly you were out of the room before half when he had to stick his foot out a couple feet to draw some lame foul before half on a three pointer. Nice throwback to his flop artist days. I honestly thought he elevated his game enough this year where he wouldn’t feel desperate to pull lame stuff like that just to try and score like his early days when his offense really wasn’t there.
  9. Hate to break it to you, but in almost all cars, ethanol free does nothing for fuel economy. Unless you own a sports car or a turbo engine anything over 87 (or the equivalent wherever one lives) has absolutely no benefit for fuel economy. A manufacturer tunes a vehicle to a specific grade level, almost always your standard 87. Putting in premium grade will not make your engine run any different or any more efficient. Could it MAYBE make your engine last longer due to build up? I mean, maybe, but 99% of consumers probably don’t own their car to ever care. And even then, calculate how much more you are spending over 150k+ miles. You could probably buy two new engines for your car.
  10. Just when I though Davison grew up and became a respectable player…whoops, guess not. The refs suck though. Between that Davison call and the near half counter they said hit the rim…5 point swing.
  11. Forgive me for potentially being ignorant, but is one station's fuel really better than another's? I was kind of always under the assumption that most stations were supplied with fuel by a few major suppliers, and they all essentially get and sell the same product? Perhaps I'm WAY off base ... All of the gas is the same however there can be more additives added to it which makes it different well kind of. This is part of it. Many claim Kwik Trip is basically the worst compared to say a BP or Shell. A lot of self proclaimed gas experts say their gas sucks and some claim their car always runs poorly when they get Kwik Trip gas. Of course, I usually take Facebook experts with a grain of salt. More notable is Kwik Trip was pretty well known for getting water into their gas that obviously causes major problems for a car. Mechanics were basically like, "Yah, every issue I see with water in gas is someone who filled up at Kwik Trip." Kwik Trip was pretty good about paying for people's gas and any needed car repairs, so at least they had that going for them. I haven't heard of an instance in quite a while though...so maybe they have fixed whatever the problem was.
  12. I used to get countless calls a day from spam and/or companies I inquired about something months upon months ago. Then suddenly halfway through December it all died. No more random spam calls etc.
  13. The thing is NFL voting isn't like MLB voting. The voting criteria for MLB award (at least the MVP) lists off the field stuff etc. as part of it. So at least in the MLB voting he could kind of do this and not be a complete douche canoe.
  14. The Kwik Trip cult is a weird one. Especially considering the main thing there, gas, sucks.
  15. Seems like one of those things that makes a ton of sense on paper, but probably never materializes. I am guessing the Brewers would greatly prefer and maybe even require proven MLB talent in return...or at the very least MLB ready with maybe their toes dipped like Urias was. That always makes a trade 10x harder to figure out.
  16. McCarthy made a weird decision in that Cardinals game last week that really didn't get much attention. After the Cardinals got a first down he opted to use his last timeout with 2:51 left. There was really no need to rush and use your last timeout right there since they got the first down and you only got to stop the clock one more time anyway. Really not gaining much there and even the announcer was a bit surprised. What he did lose by using that timeout was any right to challenge the next two plays. On the play after his last timeout Chase Edmonds made an awkward move to stay in bounds and the ball popped out. The refs ruled him down and replay showed a clear fumble. But thus, McCarthy had no timeouts to use for a challenge and the game was essentially over at that point.
  17. Probably, I would have to guess he would fall somewhere in the 8-14 range.
  18. Should be interesting to see how the Badgers play long term now that the games are going to be much more consistently competitive (no more non conference cupcakes). Johnny Davis shows up, Davidson is usually showing up, but the rest of the guys can really disappear quick in tougher games. Could be a really good squad if another guy or two can start making more consistent impacts in the game.

    Pizza

Well, lets take into consideration what is usually on TV ads. Frozen pizza and fast food chains. You are slamming pepperoni for sucking, but every frozen pizza with sausage is equally garbage. Usually low in taste and rubbery. I don't know that I have ever had good sausage on a frozen pizza...some are okay, but rarely meaningful. The downside with sausage is when it sucks, it ruins a pizza quick. Pepperoni is rarely bad, boring maybe...but hard to ruin a pizza. Feels like most frozen pizzas and chains use the same type of sausage from the same supplier. Now some premium frozen pizzas can have good sausage, but the same goes for pepperoni too. I usually try avoid sausage on a pizza unless it is an actual pizza place and it is made in house...that is good stuff and adds to a pizza.
  20. Watching the Cowboys, nothing about them inspires me to think they can bully their way to a win at Lambeau. Of course they have lots of time to right the ship. The Rams have all the offensive weapons, but the Bucs have had a better producing offense. I would rather play the Rams. Of course I would really just prefer the standings and playoffs to shake out in a way we only play one of them to get to the Super Bowl.
  21. I stashed Williams for the week, but started Edmonds instead. However, I did pick up Amon-Ra St. Brown and put him in my flex...so I had that genius move cooking. I am only down .15 with Chubb left. Thankfully, it doesn't look like the benching of Rodgers/Adams will end up costing me. Pretty brutal for thousands, I would guess.
  22. 1. MSG 2. Lambeau 3. Fenway 4. Rose Bowl 5. Wrigley 6. Augusta 7. Churchill Downs Maybe Augusta could be higher, but I don't care about golf. However, I feel it is iconic because I know what it is without watching any golf. I could not name a single race track, so iconic they are not. Cameron is a strange inclusion. #1 Because I would take Allen Fieldhouse as an iconic venue over it for college basketball (probably slightly bias) and #2 I feel like there have to be some college football stadiums that are surely more iconic to people if one was looking to include a college venue.
  23. I told myself going into the Cowboys game all I needed was for them not to score two TDs and get half a dozen sacks with under 13 given up. My opponent nearly got enough luck to force my TE to do something tonight. Had that fumble gone the Cowboys way versus a TD for Washington I think his defense would have made up the difference to take the lead. My opponent had terrible luck this week. Robinson blew his Achilles after only rushing for 10 yards and he lost Kelce to COVID. He then started Lockett over Tee Higgins…who went off for 40 points. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.
  24. If I am up 3.72 points should I bench my Monday night TE or just not really care if he is in or not? Considering the player would get credit for any catch/yards before a fumble I figure he would have to fumble twice and do so in negative yard fashion. With of course him do absolutely nothing else outside of that. I just thought it was interesting Yahoo gives me a 99% chance to win if I take him out, but only 93% with him in.

    Pizza

Home made bread is better in a pizza oven than in an oven. Not sure you could get the right temperature in a grill for bread. I mean, I have seen many people make bread in a normal oven. I’m not much of a bread maker myself, but I am pretty sure a normal oven can do it just fine. I have seen people do some nice pizza types that aren’t Neapolitan (usually Detroit style)…but again, pretty sure it would be easier and better to just do it in a normal oven. Neapolitan though, isn’t really possible in a normal oven. I love the vibe of using the Ooni though. It’s kind of like grilling, sitting there on the patio on a summer night cooking pizzas just hits the spot.
