  1. That's per seat, right? I have a pair in the club and still had sticker shock when I saw $4,000. It's a bit of a fake figure considering all the the refunds and assumed games that never happen. Correct, that would be for the terrace reserve. Like you I will probably sell anything prior to a clinch game in the NLCS. I will let anything prior fund the back end of postseason.
  2. First year the fans choice selection actually worked on the personal site thing for me. One of these years we will make the World Series and I will be very happy I bought the strip. It is like $1,140 for the entire postseason, pretty sure a single World Series ticket would be that on StubHub.
  3. Yah, there isn't a huge benefit to play anyone specific, unless you really think the Reds can catch and fend off the Padres in the standings. I think there is a big assumption the WC winner is the Giants or Dodgers. Not that the Padres aren't good, but I also think people are overly worried about them due to the media darling they can be. The only team you would want to avoid is probably the Dodgers. If we stay the #2 seed and the Giants get the #1 seed that makes two opportunities for the Dodgers to get eliminated before they would get to you. Regardless, there would then be no chance of seeing the Dodgers AND the Giants. But as I said, kind of boring to hope for that. Reality is, it is incredibly likely we will have to go through the Dodgers to get to the World Series. I just don't find baseball to be a huge match-up driven result like the playoffs in NBA/NFL can be. Instead of praying for specific opponents, pray our team gets hot. That is how we will win it all.
  4. If you assume that the Giants or Dodgers are the Wild Card winner, yah...you probably would prefer whatever NL East team it is. That being said if the Padres became the opponent I think it is pretty much a wash between them and the Braves. Doesn't really matter a whole lot to me. If we are good we should beat anyone. Trying to draw up the easiest way to win on paper just seems like a boring exercise.
  5. There is a site that stays pretty up to date on this all year long.
  6. That was only their third win this month. 2/3 of their wins are against the Reds.
  7. Big game today, I believe if we win, the Cardinals will not longer control their own destiny.
  8. Great, now we are talking about the Cardinals catching us? Can't wait for tomorrow's edition featuring the Pirates catching us.
  9. For the Christmas Day matchups, here is the full slate of games: New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks -- 12 p.m. ET Milwaukee Bucks vs. Boston Celtics -- 2:30 p.m. ET Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors -- 5 p.m. ET Los Angeles Lakers vs. Brooklyn Nets -- 8 p.m. ET Utah Jazz vs. Dallas Mavericks -- 10:30 p.m. ET
  10. The reality is, by this venture of the schedule, the lead is this big for a reason. We are simply that much better than them. They would have to totally flip that script in a major way I’m a short amount of time to HOPEFULLY catch us. Can someone check a Reds fan board? Are they even talking about the division race? I’m guessing 90% of their fans don’t even consider the division race real. I’d guess most are thinking about the wild card spot they are 2.5 games back in. There is probably 10x more worry here about us blowing the lead than there is talking from Reds fans about winning the division.
  11. It is a massive reach...possible? Sure, but it is incredibly unlikely. Not only would they have to catch on fire, but they would need an epic collapse from us at the same time. Our 2018 run was massive and we needed a Game 163 to seal the deal. At this point in 2018 we were like 2-3 games down and the worst was 5 games back in early September (I think). That being said I hope the Cards still feel like they have a shot because they play the Reds 6 more times.
  12. I mean, why would we not be interested in those guys? Unless it gets reported that we nearly traded for them it means just about nothing.
  13. There is a video where Aaron Judge interviews fans on the streets of New York about Aaron Judge and no one could recognize they were talking to...Aaron Judge.
  14. I guess without elaborating I don't know exactly what you mean by this, but the NBA seems to be waaaay more hyper-local than the MLB.
  15. I am watching LLWS baseball and have already seen like 3-4 instant replay reviews on bang bang plays or stuff that is brutally obvious and a waste of time. Mind you this is still regionals...not even the true LLWS yet. I have never tipped for carry-out and for that reason didn't start due to COVID. Sorry server, but the exact reason I am getting take-out is so I don't have to tip you. I have never gotten a look or negative energy for doing it though. They never seem to care.
  16. The Brewers really don't have any logical extension candidates. Logical guys would be pre arbitration and not about to hit it this offseason. I honestly don't think I could even name one player I would be willing to offer an extension (assuming it is a realistic extension and not some highway robbery type deal...because then of course). Burnes and Adames would be the only real decent options. Adames the most realistic as he isn't as proven and you might get a more friendly deal...but of course more risk. Unlike Woodruff, Burnes is younger and a more attractive guy to lock up...but he would be far from cheap. Both guys are about to enter arbitration and won't be as willing to take a discount. Omar Narvaez would be an option, but I have a hard time seeing them sink much cash into a catcher over 30. The earlier mention of 3/$30mil (starting next year) is about as much as I would do. However, he is only another year from FA...I can't imagine him taking that.
  17. You are comparing a guy who has been around for a few months to a guy who has been around for a few years. If you are going to make a hypothetical with no actual proof it would be that way, at least use a guy with similar time around the team...like Brandon Woodruff.
  18. If Yelich keeps playing poorly his brand power and merchandising dollars will spiral down the drain...actually, it probably already is. Associated Bank isn't going to want his face on a billboard anymore. They will find someone better. One of my biggest concerns with Yelich, when he started struggling, was the fact he wasn't a lovable guy with fans. Yah he was good and fans liked him, but I don't think he was overly personable. He took off so fast after getting here and got that superstar mindset where he walked around like he was in a soundproof bubble. Compared to a guy like Braun who started off here so long before becoming a star. Before his scandal Braun was not only good, but fans loved him like he was their child. He still had a strong base of fans even after his scandal and decline in play. The love for Yelich seems to start and end with his elite play...that's all fans from Milwaukee really got to see. In reality we didn't even get to see much elite play before he came crashing down. He doesn't have the track record to help keep his brand/attraction afloat. If his poor play lasts into next year I wouldn't be shocked if the boo birds start to come out, fan frustration is already starting to appear.
  19. 2013 1 paid Aaron Judge for Yankees. 2014. Cardinals Jack Flaherty. Red Sox And the uber frustrating Michael Kopech 2015. Braves Mike Sorotka Pirates KeBrayan Hayes Orioles Ryan Mountcastle 2016. Padres Eric Lauer Nationals Dane Dunning Dodgers Will Smith Cardinals Dylan Carlson and Dakota Hudson Nationals former top prospect Rookie Carter Kieboom 2017 Toronto Nate Pearson(#1 team prospect) 2018. Rays Shane Mclanahan Are Comp picks of note/positivity. Certainly potential to find a gem or at minimum use the draft slot to pay one. Sure, you can find value. It still doesn't really change the fact $8mil is probably a better deal and the players offered at the deadline would be more likely to amount to something over the compensation pick...especially when also considering you save like $8mil to boot.
  20. Unfortunate it seems our guys have zero shot barring a collapse by Wheeler or Buehler. Burnes is better in just about every way possible, except he has started three less games...and unfortunately his workload is getting some attention from voters.
  21. The last half week is a solid example of why it will be so hard for the Reds to catch us. While we will lose games, so will they, and we will certainly still have our winning streaks. Panic 4-5 days ago and now we are up 8 games. It is like being down big in basketball. You can be down 20 point, go on an 11-0 run, but then the other team goes on a run canceling out most if not all of the progress you had.
  22. Except his OBP isn't anything great when he is slugging sub .400. Despite an OBP of .372 he is a fringe starting OFer so far this year, especially on one of the top teams in baseball. His OPS is a low .724, he is a corner OFer, and not great at defense. If his name wasn't Christian Yelich and didn't have a massive contract that is the type of play that people would clamor to replace at the deadline.
  23. Does he figure skate in his free time, because that is exactly what that made me think of.
  24. The actual interview he comes off less skeptical than articles/headlines make him out to be, but he still came off as unwilling to truly accept what had happened. Considering many people still believe the guy said something bad, it is a real shame Brinson had to leave uncertainty in his comments when in reality there is none.
  25. His take is a bit strange. It seems like he doesn't really want to accept the reality and is almost a bit skeptical still. He says he keeps hearing 'the word'. If that is the case it is because that is what he wants to hear. If you watch it back and think 'Dinger' when the guy yells it is very obvious that is exactly what he was saying (or watch the video of him obviously yelling and waving towards the mascot). It was one of those annoying apologizes where he constantly said, "if that's what he said" then I am sorry for the backlash he is getting. No Brinson, that IS what he said. Many journalists, former players, etc. just ate their crow after finding out their reactionary take was horribly wrong...Brinson sorta just had to stall out at the one yard line though.
