  1. I think this becomes a much bigger deal when a state only has one team. All of the Wisconsin sports have very loyal in state fans. The Packers probably help lead that charge and the Brewers also have a very strong following even when into NW WI.
  2. Without asking the people making up the map I can almost guarantee from living close to that area at one point it is dominated by the T-Wolves for one main reason: It is people transplanted from the Twin Cities and they can easily sway those counties to the T-Wolves because NBA interest is just that low in those areas. There really aren't many Bucks fans to compete with the Twin Cities transplants. Those maps can be a bit goofy sometimes though. Aren't they usually based on Facebook account likes? The Brewers map is the entire state of WI (except the four that border Twin Cities area) plus one Michigan county. Not sure how the TV deals work that far to the border. When I lived by Eau Claire/Chippewa you got both FS channels. The bordering counties may only get one.
  3. Not sure how you can call someone 'significantly better than a #3 starter' after posting an ERA north of 4.00 in 500 innings straight. Especially when your hit rate is growing, your HR rate blew up, your WHIP is ballooning, and your K rate dropped off. The alarm bells were blaring that Chris Archer was at best a guy always underperforming his FIP or worse...declining. The argument you are trying to make is exactly how the Pirates made a terrible trade.
  4. I would have no interest in a guy with that kind of attitude and willing to quit baseball over it.
  5. Either your taste for food is highly questionable or you need to visit more stadiums.
  6. If Rodgers was staying around for the next 3+ years, I would easily pick the Packers for this question. The Bucks just won, but I think they needed so much to go right around the NBA to make that happen. I really just don't like their chances of getting another title. The Brewers have a great core and should be contenders...but winning a World Series is just so hard to do. If I had to bet, honestly I would go the Packers....even if you told me Rodgers was a goner. Winning in the NFL just seems much more probable.
  7. I’d say a good majority of Packers fans/Wisconsin residents past about an hour or two from Milwaukee don’t care what the Bucks do. While most Wisco sports grab a lot of fans from all corners of the state, the Bucks are most definitely a city team…not a state strong team. If I find an NBA fan towards northern Wisconsin (pretty rare) chances are it isn’t the Bucks. I was picking up food at a bar for Game 2 or Game 3 and the bar didn’t even have the game on.
  8. Can’t wait for Kawhi to take a discount to come and ride Giannis to another ‘ship!
  9. Stephen A. is a pretty big douche and some of his takes are terrible…but his take on the Rodgers situation is pretty accurate. The whole extension thing is really irrelevant though because: A) Likely they did it just to look better in their themselves knowing Rodgers wouldn’t accept anyway. B) Without the actual details it could be meaningless. If the contract didn’t basically tie Rodgers to the Packers for 3-5 more years it might as well be a $250mil extension. A lot of writers are now starting to run with the idea that Rodgers will skip 4-5 games of the regular season…then magically show up. Sorry, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Either he shows up to start or why come at all? All reports say Rodgers cares deeply about his teammates and coaching staff. Either he says sorry guys I just can’t do it…or he shows up to be with them. If Rodgers plays I can’t really fathom him watching the team have a crummy record 1/3 of the way through the season.
  10. Yah, I wouldn't care slightly if the Packers won in a bubble...but the Bucks/Brewers? People have waited their entire lives for this and you pretty much accept only one in your lifetime is quite possible. It would be terrible for such a moment to be under those kind of circumstances. Yesterday showed exactly why some didn't want such a championship for the Bucks/Brewers.
  11. One inch. That was all that was standing in the way of the Bucks being eliminated, Bud being fired, and a likely soft rebuild. Instead look for them to enjoy this, and run back a very similar looking squad next year as the presumed favorites. Crazy game. Not sure why the Bucks would be the presumed favorites. I’m guessing that will be the Nets, for good reason. Will the Bucks even be a Top 3 favorite after all the dominos fall in the off season? Guessing LeBrons team will get a bunch of hype, per usual. I’m not taking anything away from this run, it was well deserved and they played great teams to hoist the trophy. BUT they don’t even make the conference finals if the Nets aren’t severely crippled. I mean they needed every ounce of fight and a big toe to survive that. The Suns took six games to eliminate the Leonard-less to make the finals. How would we have faired against the Clippers with Leonard taking the floor? My point is, those odds/perceived favorites will be determined imagining the sky is bright and injuries are washed away. Going into the season it will be back to imagining a healthy Big 3 and the return of LeBron. I’m glad Giannis and the Bucks were able to win it this year. With the NBA the way it is, who knows if we ever get such an opportunity again. It’s just not easy for a team like the Bucks.
  12. As great as this is, whoever designed those shirts and put ‘2x champs’ should be fired…I mean what? Let’s put that next year when we win it two ones in a row. Real weird phase to connect to championship 50 years a apart.
  13. Giannis is just the 7th player in history to score 50+ in a finals game. The only other person to do it in a clinch game was Bob Petitt for the St Louis Hawks in 1958. Giannis just arguably had the greatest finals game performance in history.
  14. Giannis with a legendary performance in the clincher and the entire series. Guy deserves it, A+ professional athlete. Guy talked and dreamed of this moment….and he showed up to back it up.
  15. The beauty of the playoffs is you can suck all day and be remembered for one big shot…Middleton just had one of those.
  16. Probably similar to Giannis going 16-17 at the line.
  17. I hope they win just so I can stop watching Pat C.
  18. We are on the verge of a championship on the back of Giannis’ free throw shooting. Who would have thunk it.
  19. That kind of challenge and call ruins basketball for me…can’t stand it. Punches the ball out of his hands and it’s out in the offensive player cause it was still rolling off his finger? How dumb.
  20. Some pretty good play with Giannis on the sideline.
  21. Someone kick Pat C. to the 65k wolves outside
