  1. This offense was doomed to be a failure before Yelich got hurt or Hiura proved he does indeed suck like his 2020 self. He has an outfield that was Yelich, an ancient Cain that probably can’t hit well, and an Avisail Garcia that hasn’t hit outside of two seasons in his entire career. So for insurance he went and paid $13mil for an OFer who can’t hit. His infield included a Shaw that hasn’t hit for years, Arcia/Urias who never hit a lick in their entire careers, Wong who isn’t known to hit that much, Hiura who strikes out at a 30%+ clip while being terrible in 2020, and Vogelbach who has never really been much his entire career. Sure there was optimism for some of these guys (and still is)...but this was not a promising group heading into the season, not even close. Injuries aren’t helping, that’s for sure, but even then the offense is not a pretty group of guys even while healthy.
  2. He or the team made some comment about it in like January when he didn't officially retire, but obviously wasn't signing to be ready for spring training.
  3. All that matters is you like them the way you cook, but most experts would say boiling causes flavor loss (simmer them instead). I tried boiling last winter for the first time in years and I don't think I will ever do it again. Maybe for tailgating purposes...but that would be it. Just my opinion, but poking holes is one of the worst things to do unless you like them with less flavor and dried out. Its just like making them burst with high heat, all the moisture and fat (the flavor) goes straight to the bottom of the grill. But again, there is no right way, if you like them then that's the way you should do it! I can imagine the sous vide method packs a bunch of flavor. My dad has a treager grill and there is a recipe where they simmer for hours and then you sear them a bit at the end. The flavor added is incredible. Not really how I tend to like my brats though, it almost has to much flavor at that point I don't even feel like I am eating a brat. The smoke and beer flavor that gets added just gives a weird taste to me.
  4. I never got why people hated him so much. For a utility infielder he put up decent stats. Decent average and stole a bunch of bases. Also had a little pop. Sure, he played more than most wanted to see, but that’s not really on Perez. Not sure I will expect much from a 30 year old Perez though.
  5. Didn’t the Brewers already ask him once? Sometime later in spring training?
  6. His struggles can be explained by a lot of baseball related things. He had red flags in 2019 and was terrible in 2020. While his unfortunate events at home certainly don’t help...I don’t think that is one of the major cause of his struggles. He is worse this year, but that can probably be attributed more to teams attacking his inefficiencies even more and probably to some extent the rocky positional change.
  7. I don’t find that to be a bad AB. Great pitcher on the mound and you want to put it in play with no outs and the guy on second. He did that...just didn’t hit it right. Cain’s AB was exponentially more pathetic.
  8. Well Molina is like 55 at this point, so I would hope so. Manny is almost 34... That’s 4 years and as a catcher..and Molina has 2000+ games compared to less than 400.
  9. Still trying to figure out why blocking home isn’t allowed, but someone can block 2B like that. That’s just stupid. Taylor was going to be out, break a finger, or be out and break a finger.
  10. Why must we always get screwed when it’s clearly out, but there is no evidence...yet they will call it out. Every time we are on the other end it’s safe because there is no actual evidence to be 111110% sure.
  11. Probably isn’t different than any other relationship in life. If the trust is that broken even if he gets what he said he “wants” it may still be hard to commit to continuing on. And as was mentioned before there really is no rush for Rodgers to figure it out and make a decision. Seems somewhat logical to take you time, look at what the Packers have said/offered, and make a decision quite a while from now.
  12. Ever since it switched to Bally Sports the volume is pathetically low on my TV. Normal TV I am around 18ish, now I have to crank it up to 35 to hear it. At 18 you would think it is muted. The worst part is one of the random commercials blares louder than a high school kids Honda Civic in the school parking lot. It also has crashed a few times, which Fox Sport Go never did...and the layout it beyond strange in my opinion...the Fox Sports Go setup was better.
  13. Can't wait for his reunion at the ring ceremony next Spring.
  14. Rumor has it that they brought him in to take some of the spotlight off of Lawrence, which could be a good idea. Interesting concept I suppose. I have a hard time seeing him be a decent TE though. Blocking is a pretty essential part of being a TE....Tebow is going to figure that out at 30+ with zero experience doing it? They are going to trust Tim Tebow to not blow a block on the edge and let Lawrence get destroyed? Imagine Lawrence having his career get derailed early due to an injury sustained by a blown Tim Tebow block. That sounds like an April Fools joke.
  15. I had brats maybe 2-3 days ago, now I want to go buy them again to test out all these different ways to eat them....for science of course. I will take on for the team.
  16. Kind of the Brewers to let him go out in this fashion versus kicking him to he curb and then him having to retire.
  17. Speaking of brats, I recently bought IPA brats from the store because they were on sale...I think they were SmithFoods or something. I hate IPA beer, but it gave the brat a really unique flavor. I prefer to go to a butcher that does fresh brats. I like the fillings they put in them and fresh always seems to taste better. My personal favorite I recently tried, blue cheese and onion. Not a huge blue cheese or opinion fan, but it was amazing.
  18. Latest was they are "negotiating"...part of that may be a contract, but it was generically referring to all the issues at hand.
  19. Not sure it is really relevant how they have ranked the last five years combined. World Series aren't won over five years, they are each year alone. What I see is a ton of below average offenses and that is what matters. Though sometimes looking at the detailed ranking can be helpful as the teams can be bunched up and the difference between 8th and 11th can be a dozen runs or so. On paper Garcia is due for a good season, lately he has had one every other year. I don't know why I always forget about Narvaez when talking about offense. I actually loved that trade and it is great to see him hitting. On paper he was a fantastic replacement for Grandal for 1/10th the cost.
  20. I hope he is somewhat relevant at it. He entire career in sports is kind of crazy. Everyone thought the baseball thing was comical and then he went out there and was somewhat competent. He wasn't good, but then again he hadn't played baseball since like high school. Heck in AA he had an OPS north of .700...better ballplayer than Michael Jordan. He probably won't be good, but I give him credit for doing his own thing on his terms.
