  1. Do you have to take it out? No, probably not...many people leave it in all winter on smaller lakes like that. The reason to pull docks and boat lifts is to avoid wind smashing ice into it. Ice doesn’t go smashing into things on a 35 acre lake line it will on Lake Winnebago. Of course a boat lift ain’t cheap and a hefty investment so pulling it out in the winter is a wise insurance plan to avoid anything going wrong.
  2. I don’t think there is any chance they trade him before this year now. Now all the picks they get would be based off a Rodgers led team. The Broncos #9 pick this year would have been intriguing, but now it would be more like #15+ next year. I really don’t see the Packers trading Rodgers for mystery picks that could easily end up making them pick at #25 or even later than that. Too much of a gamble. I also can’t fathom the Broncos finding it a good idea to trade for Rodgers and ship what is arguably their top WR back...I’m sure Rodgers would love that. Actually, I’m almost positive he would hit the decline button real fast.
  3. It takes two to Tango. How do we know the whole Kumerow situation went down as the current hypothetical narrative? I believe it's standard practice to let a player know they are making a move on him. What if Gute told Kumerow that he was being released. He was clearing out his stuff and Rodgers saw him and got pissed. He went to Gute and said he wanted them to keep Kumerow and they disagreed. Rodgers takes the first chance that day to say something to a reporter to undermine the release which nobody knows about yet. The paperwork went through and Kumerow was officially realeased (press announcement). It all looks like Gute wasn't paying attention. The Packers will never release that narrative because they don't air dirty laundry. Rodgers wouldn't say anything because it makes him look like the egomaniac he is. Maybe since none of us know the actual circumstances we don't judge the situation. Being the MVP doesn't get you a free pass to tell the GM what to do with the lowest roster spots. The bottom line is that the front office, GM and head coach seem to have winning as their main priority while the MVP QB has getting his way as the primary priority. I know which group/one needs to go. I mean, sure, you can question my hypothetical with an even crazier unlikely hypothetical. Possible? I guess...but probably not. This is a sports forum...pretty much half the purpose is rumors, hypotheticals, opinions, etc. You say no one should judge the situation as we don’t know the circumstances/details...and then you literally proceed to judge the entire situation and say Rodgers needs to go as he is worried about himself while the team is worried about winning. Everyone can have their opinion in this, but I’m guessing we are all about 90% wrong in what we think is actually going on here. The only thing that seems obvious here is both sides seem to have been kinda dumb for the last year plus...I’m just not sure who is being more dumb as the real details are pretty hard to uncover through all the garbage being spewed in the media.
  4. Is it your opinion then that the GM is not consulting with his head coach before making such a change? Because I think Matt LaFleur might be a little more plugged in to how his franchise, HoF QB feels about throwing to Jake Kumerow. I just really find it hard to believe that everything falls on Brian Gutekunst for these moves Rodgers doesn't like and wants more input in. Drafting Jordan Love, sure that situation makes sense, but not the 5th string WR. No, I’m sure the GM consults with the head coach, that’s what I would expect for the most part. Maybe I’d expect Gute to talk to Aaron too, but only because Aaron has been around for years and is an unworldly QB...not some Jay Cutler. I’m not really blaming Gute for it or even LeFleur. However, these are the little things that are really going to irritate a guy (Rodgers) if he was already pretty irked in general from how things were going. Is getting upset over Kumerow being dumped a bit dramatic at face value? Yah, but there is likely a whole lot that led up to him getting upset over that. I don’t think Rodgers was a happy peach one day and then Kumerow getting released sent him off the deep end.
  5. But wouldn’t the GM care about the QBs opinion on what was what, the last WR on the depth chart? I would think he wouldn’t need to watch Rodgers quotes...he should already know that by either directly talking to Rodgers or through LaFleur. I think most would agree the last roster spot to a WR is pretty interchangeable and you’d almost want the guy the QB has the best connection with. I don’t think the Packers decision making is really what irks Rodgers the most. It’s the countless times he has wanted more communication on topics and yet he finds out on the internet with fans. Whether you agree with why Rodgers is upset or not the Packers should have had common sense the last year to figure out how to keep him as happy as they could. Yet they kept failing on communication all the way down to that 4th and Goal field goal kick. Whether you think Rodgers is a circus or not there really is no denying the Packers have kind of failed to control this situation until it imploded.
  6. I was worried they wouldn’t send him down because Counsell kept doing that. Turns out it was just for some illogical reason that Keston was batting in the meat of the order.
  7. What a joke, can’t score a guy from second and no outs. I refuse to believe this team is an actual force in the long run. The offense is depressing and the roster is loaded with pathetic hitters. When the pitching becomes human we better hope the offense goes on a tear or losses will pile up like you wouldn’t believe.
  8. Hope to be wrong, but Urias was probably our one chance there and he didn’t at least advance the runner.
  9. Whiffing by five miles on a dozen pitches today just to slap a clutch double, baseball.
  10. Two hits would have been unlikely, but Vogelbach making contact and hitting one out was conceivable. Now it’s the bottom of the order going into the ninth. Sure, just pointing out...MAYBE...he was leaning for a steal attempt and that is why he got nabbed there.
  11. I can only assume Garcia may have been leaning to steal a base as consecutive hits to score him there would have been comically impossible for this offense...but sure didn’t look like a guy looking to steal.
  12. Glad I'm not alone, take JBJ with him. 20 million we could have spent on a real 1B or SP... All that money spent on non offensive players when we needed offense, frustrating to say the least. Maybe Stearns should stop giving $10mil+ salaries on short term deals to OFers...it ain’t working. Felt like he was spending money at the end of the offseason just to spend it.
  13. Can’t wait till Garcia is off this team. What a terrible signing and waste of money.
  14. What would have been better, a little league inside the park grand slam?
  15. Braves need pitching, we need offense and we're getting more overall value. Done deal, right? Or do I need to keep making trades to show that website is garbage? The site isn’t garbage, but common sense while using it does help take it for what it is worth.
  16. Nobody hates Houser. He's just a lot better reliever than a starter. For a 4th or 5th starter he is decent to possibly really good. Of course with our offense a 5th starter is going to lose a lot and no one likes to lose a lot, so it makes him look worse than he is.
  17. Just like the Eric Sogard experiment: We knew he sucked, but we just could resist ending his Brewers tenure on a comical hot streak. Hopefully when we dump Vogelbach we don’t double down and sign him again just to suck two years later.
  18. Can't really think of a reason he should be hitting less than 5th. At least put him ahead of Garcia. I don’t get the fascination Counsell has with having Garcia hit in the top half of the line up. Hopefully Cain/Yelich can stay healthy and Shaw can continue to hit. That at least pushes him to 6th in the line up. I also don’t see why Vogelbach is ahead of Urias...well I don’t know how we ever found it acceptable to have Vogelbach on the team...but here we are.
  19. Why is Urias hitting before a few near auto outs? Dude one of our most consistent hitters lately.
  20. Feel bad for Keston, such a humble dude when talking to fans...but jeez, at some point you gotta start hitting like you played baseball before.
