  1. Just send Urias to MiLB? If he can? Urias and Arcia both have little value...so best bet is having both for depth.
  2. Kolton Wong is using a pool noodle to throw compared to Manny Machado. Machado can make rocket throws 10 feet into foul territory, Wong would have to use the pitcher as a cut off man. His arm is fine, but I think it would be quite ‘meh’ at 3B. A big part of Wong’s defense looks to be his range...something not really needed at 3B. Even if he gets to a ball over at 3B I am not sure he has the arm to actually get it to first in time for outs. If he doesn’t get to utilize his range and has an average arm you will waste a lot of his defensive value. As far as offense at the two positions he was 8th at 2B and would have been 14th at 3B (per fangraphs 2019). That is assuming a career year though. If he ends up giving closer to zero offensive value he is still 11th per 2019 second baseman. However a no offense third baseman in 2019 would have been ranked 19th. It’s a big difference offensively.
  3. Putting Kolton Wong at 3B would be a total waste. We could have spent $1mil if all you wanted was a .700 - .750 OPS third baseman. It is hard to say from watching highlights, but his arm doesn’t look that strong...so not sure his elite defense would translate. I’m sure he would be a nice 3B, but without a rocket arm it’s hard to be elite over at 3B. Also seems like it would make sense for him to go cover the hole between 1st/2nd and help up the middle. Arcia doesn’t need help between 2nd/3rd. Why waste his range (which I believe is pretty good) at 3B? I’m sorry, but the concept makes absolutely zero sense to me and as someone else mentioned I doubt he would have signed here to be a 3rd baseman. Also, I can’t wait for Arcia/Wong to make some legendary play for Hiura to drop a ball thrown to his chest at the end.
  4. Ryan Braun played two positions to amass his wealth and honestly was decent in LF before he got old. The fact he played RF and 1B later on is kinda irrelevant as that happened after we were already doomed to his contract. A better example would be Kyle Schwarber.
  5. Hiura was never going to be a 2B long term. He needs to hit if he wants to provide value and make the big bucks.
  6. He has never stolen 25 bases in his career. He had 24 in 2019, but prior to that the previous three years combined he had 21 steals. In 2018 he only had 6 steals and was caught 5 times. I’m not sure why everyone keeps thinking he steals a bunch of bases, he doesn’t. I’m guessing best case would be about 15 steals. I’d be taking the under though.
  7. I’d put the odds of Hiura being anywhere close to average at 1B between 0%-1%. His arm is crud, but he does everything poorly. 1B still have really tough plays and awkward plays to make...things Hiura struggles with. I’m sure that will follow him to 1B. I am trying to envision him scooping tough throws and it just isn’t pretty. We will see how it goes if it happens, but I’m guessing he will be a terrible first baseman and the little league mistakes he makes at 2B will follow him over. I doubt 1B fixes his defensive brain fart mistakes he often makes. Of course it is what it is...it’s not like he can be worse defensively. I am sure the Brewers were really hoping for the DH this year.
  8. I would hope that any team that is taking Hiura's 2020 numbers into account when determining his value, and significantly lowering it, would not be a legit trade partner. Of course you wouldn’t want to trade with them, but a smart team probably would want to take his 2020 into serious consideration. His 2019 was a good predictor to his poor 2020. Maybe one wasn’t expecting it it too be as bad as it was, but a massive decline was pretty obvious. He had a .402 BABIP and 30.7% K rate in 2019. All that really changed is the results started matching the actual performance, which wasn’t that good. The only strange thing was he went from a doubles machine to not being able to buy one. Still, even if you made that a little more realistic he was probably still a sub .800 hitter. Everyone wants to throw out 2020 results, fine, but there is a reason he wasn’t good and it dates back to his finer 2019 numbers. Same goes for Avisail Garcia. His 2020 was not a big shocker, it was close to his career average and not one of his lone outlier years. Some poor years were shocking and unexpected (Baez/Yelich) and others the writing was on the wall (Garcia/Hiura).
  9. No kidding. Incredible how badly people want to be mad. Maybe the fact he has had two good years with the bat and the rest have been underwhelming to pretty bad. Isn’t a whole lot different than Avisail Garcia who many didn’t like (myself included) and it ended up fully justified last year. I think Wong ends up a better sign than Garcia, but it could easily end up just as bad from an offensive standpoint. His career isn’t consistently great. I can see why some my not like it a ton.
  10. I believe it. How are they going to trade Hiura after his miserable 2020? Hiura affirmed he is a DH, no one is trading for Hiura and putting him on the field for defense. He confirmed all the concerns about his bat and fell back down to earth just like his 2019 stats hinted at. He still has a lot of value, but unless the Brewers don’t actually think Hiura is good there is no way they get the value they will seek. Just seems like a long shot after the warning flags in 2019 and then the poor 2020.
  11. You realize Kolton Wong is in a typical players prime, right? Like right in the middle of it.
  12. Acceptable average, should give a solid OBP, and strikes out less than 100 times in a year. He puts the ball in play. Sounds like the kind of hitter people have been begging for the last decade. Overall he is about average offensively, but his skill set should be refreshing in the lineup. And our SS will have a GG counterpart instead of a statue with a noodle arm.
  13. Zero innings in his pro career. So safe to say probably a hard no. Why pay a premium for his defense to make it worse? Guessing he is our 2B.
  14. Yelich and his Tebow arm can go play 1B. He was a regular 1B in HS. Extending Yelich was a bad idea to begin with, moving him to first before 30 would make the extension even more dumb. I just can’t see it. And even putting Hiura in LF would be horrid...probably worst in baseball, just a guess though. Pretty much impossible to hide his defense.
  15. We will see if they keep Hiura and if he can even be competent at 1B. Dude struggles getting a ground ball...you expect him to pick them out of the dirt at 1B? Yikes, we need the DH. I’d wonder if they would try to hide his defense in LF, but they just gave Yelich millions and let him move back there. Doubt they would go tell him to go back over to RF. Hopefully this isn’t Avisail Garcia 2.0.
  16. I think they are just going to shuffle Hiura anywhere until he can find his proper home at DH. I doubt there is any chance they trade him. Hard to get correct value after a miserable 2020.
  17. Avisail Garcia was a terrible signing...but now we are stuck with him so I doubt going for a guy like Puig is really an option. Maybe if you can get him to play first and the corner OF positions it’s not a bad option. I doubt it we would do it, but in our budget if he is dirt cheap it’s exactly the kind of move we could use to hopefully inject some kind of offense into this roster.
  18. Hopefully we don’t lock ourselves into a 10+ year contract with them. It seems obvious to go short term with the train wreck the RSNs have been lately...but who knows what the Brewers sign.

  20. Guessing they are doing everything in their power to have little to no chance at having people flat out not get tickets to the game they picked. Can’t blame them as it’s probably a nightmare to deal with. They don’t want them all to pile onto the premium games (like opening day). There is only one set plan that will give you opening day.
  21. The Texans very much have control too. They can give Watson the middle finger and he can play as a Texan or retire. Watson doesn’t want to be with the Texans so he has to be realistic and choose from the list provided.
  22. A lot of it depends on desperation for money, local laws/rules, and a teams willingness to pack the place as much as possible. Lambeau had the 8k as the limit, but that’s because they were being ridiculously over cautious. Pretty sure they were allowed to do more, but elected not to. They could have had fans in the regular season, but they opted against it.
  23. I’m guessing you can use any remaining credit at the end of the year to offset the cost of your season tickets next year. I would be surprised if it didn’t work that way. When you go to pay it will likely let you pull the credit as partial payment. That is exactly what happened when renewing for 2020 seats. Here is the email sent to 20 game fans choice people today. Not sure exactly what they mean and how such a presale will work. Almost sounds like fans choice people will never get to select their 20 dates ahead of time. I noticed a fans choice plan isn’t even an option for someone to go get right now. **Good Morning! The anticipation of the 2021 season is building, and we cannot wait to see you at American Family Field. With Opening Day just two months away, we are preparing several attendance capacity scenarios. In the event we open the season with reduced attendance, we will be offering our Fan’s Choice SSH’s an individual game presale for games played with limited capacity. As an owner of a Fan’s Choice Plan, you will receive priority access to remaining seats available after our pre-set ticket plans have been re-seated. Due to limited capacities, tickets may not be available for every game. Tickets will be available to you during the presales at the Season Seat Holder rate, and any remaining credit on your account can be used during the 2021 or 2022 seasons. If you have interest in changing to a pre-set 20-game plan, please contact me by Friday, February 5 and I’d be happy to assist you. An option to receive a refund for any games impacted by limited capacity will also be provided at a later date. We will continue to pass along any details regarding the 2021 Brewers season as we receive them.**
  24. They don't care, they have a contract with FSWI to broadcast exclusively locally. The Brewers cannot stream anything anywhere else, and get paid the same amount from FSWI regardless if people can watch the games or not. The Brewers don’t have a TV contract currently...though it does sounds like they are moving toward an agreement. Presumably with FSWI or whatever it is called now.
  25. I’m just going to treat this as I would if it was male and that is by not caring because I don’t know what the position really even does, I have never heard her name before, and I couldn’t name a single person in the franchises history to hold said position. My first reaction was shock they still have such a position and didn’t cut it to save money last year. Wake me up when the Brewers try to put a competitive team together and actually try to improve. A quick google search and it doesn’t sound like she will hit .300 next year or even take an AB...though with the current teams construction she could probably out hit someone.
