  1. You like...15% of the way to getting Senzel. Senzel was a Top 10 prospect before last year and wasn't terrible in his first taste of the bigs. He has massive value.
  2. Only way it is happening is if you center a trade around Hiura/Senzel. Reds shift Moose to third and Hiura to 2nd. Then with the impending DH (maybe next year) that is where Hiura ends up long term. The bonus for the Brewers is they would get an actual positional player that will have a lot more value than Hiura will as a DH, before offensive value is taken into consideration. Senzel has major offensive upside himself too. Not saying I would do it, but it is about the only logical way the two teams could line up.
  3. As tragic as it is at least the other Bryant children have their mother. I believe the Altobelli's have a 16 year old daughter and adult son that now have neither parent all while losing their sister too. A very tough situation for multiple families.
  4. He hasn't been offered the QO the first time. He didn't qualify last season due to being traded to the Cubs mid-season. I see, my confusion as I figured he had with all the dialogue in the thread pertaining to his eligibility. Pretty straightforward then that he can still be offered one.
  5. Castellanos can never be offered a QO again...unless they change it in a future CBA, but that won't happen.
  6. Our season will ride on the backs of the rotation. If they "overachieve" like the Brewers plan/hope we are likely set for a nice season. If they play to their projection, or worse, we will probably struggle to stay in serious contention. That is basically what the projection shows. The lineup is good, bullpen is great, and the rotation is subpar. We aren't going to blow many teams away with our rotation, that is pretty obvious. That leaves us hoping for health and avoiding a chunk of starts going to 6+ ERA pitchers.
  7. While a lot will be discovered some things will likely never be known. In many cases a high profile passenger/customer can pressure the pilot to take them in conditions they would not normally fly in. Sometimes pilots will pressure themselves trying to deliver...who wants to let down Kobe Bryant and make him late? I know someone who pilots a private jet for high profile celebrities and he said it is a stressful business. A private plane/chopper is an elite thing and the customer expects elite service. They certainly expect to get to their destination on time without any problems. Typically they are not very understanding regardless of the reason. Bryant seemed kind of laid back, but who knows. Regardless the pressure to get Bryant to his destination on time was likely a key factor.
  8. Can someone refresh me on the SSH bobble again? I feel like someone found out and mentioned it at some point.
  9. Again, I’m not really arguing that he is not a HOFer. It’s the fact he went from 20% to 75% in two years. It doesn’t really make sense. That’s going from not even a consideration to in the hall. Did everyone finally wake up from a long nap? Are the voters so technical with what year you get in a border HOF guy has to wait till the last year or two?
  10. You basically said that past percentages aren't relevant in the first paragraph which is a really good point and then seemed to contradict it in the last. Larry Walker has a very strong HOF case. Credentials should be all that matter. I don't know why he only got 10% on his first ballot, but he shouldn't be penalized for that in the future. His resume still is what it is. Getting 75% or 100% doesn’t matter. Well 99% or 100% doesn’t...it is silly it gets beat to death every time. It is the fact Walker went from no one thinking he was a HOFer to squeezing in after a 20% jump the last year. You could make an argument over time “things changed” a little bit, but not that much coincidently when it was his last year eligible. Things certainly weren’t any different last year when he wasn’t even close still. It is one thing to vote him into the HOF, but what exactly where they doing with there votes all these years prior? It is just another example of what the voters do with there votes is confusing at best. Of course I bet all the people suddenly voting for Walker are anonymous voters so their strange logic will remain a mystery.
  11. Bars in central WI show House Hunters? Is this serious or a joke? I have definitely seen House Hunters at a bar more than once, I don't remember where it was though. Memory makes me want to say it was Fox Valley area. Seinfeld I actually think was in SE Wisconsin at a college bar. I mean it is whatever someone requests so you can get some strange things. Most Central Wisconsin bars I have gone to gravitate towards golf or college basketball. Rarely see much in the way of NBA.
  12. Agree with nearly all that has been said...other than the comment about millennials outside of Milwaukee preferring the Bucks over Brewers. If someone did a poll I think 9/10 would say they prefer the Brewers. I bet most would rather pay to watch a 100 loss Brewers team than go watch the current Bucks team for free. To me the college game is much more enjoyable. The big difference is the fact college guys go 100% on every single play. NBA players are always being lazy and taking plays off...probably cause there are so many dang games. Sometimes the offense is really bland in the NBA too when guys are taking dumb shots three seconds into the shot clock or they just feed one guy all day long. The current Bucks team is pretty enjoyable to watch, but some NBA games are like nails on a chalkboard.
  13. The pitcher trying to kick it and missing is what is burned in my brain from that play. Once it got past the pitcher you knew Gomez was scoring. What a great play in history. The 2008 run was great, but something about winning a postseason series was the kind of relevance I craved.
  14. A diving Yount and you still get the no hitter reference. Hank Aaron for his last homer. 2000s is tough as they already did a CC one. Maybe a Braun grand slam bobble? 2010s seems like a logical one to get a current guy in the mix with Woodruff’s HR. I don’t know, so many options. I was hoping they would do some cool ones after the SSH poster was mostly guys in their memorable moments.
  15. He got overshadowed by people because he flat out wasn’t that good. He is all name and two playoff runs. To be exact he did not win a single playoff game outside of those two runs. Though to be fair he only managed the playoffs six years. To be honest I bet he doesn’t make it if he wasn’t a Manning.
  16. Eli Manning retired and “analysts” think he is a HOFer (majority do). Is the football hall of fame that big of a joke? Some even think without the rings he would be “compelling”. To me the two ring are the only worthy thing on his resume. Wow, he would not even be on the HOF radar to me....not even close.
  17. Wish these bobble's would be big moments from their decades, but I somewhat doubt it...probably just boring. What an opportunity squashed.
  18. The fumbled happened, went forward, and the 49ers guy jumped on it pretty fast. So fast it wasn’t even a fight for the ball for anyone. I’m not sure who’s fault that botched snap was, but Rodgers has no chance to get it because the guard was pulling. So Rodgers had to scramble back after getting the snap so the guard could get between him and the center. Problem is once the snap was fumbled that meant a 300 pound lineman was in front of him, so no, he couldn’t even dive between the centers legs for it. The other problem is when Rodgers looked back for the ball it was already long gone. You could see him searching for it. It’s hard to make an effort for a ball when you have no idea where it is. If you are expecting our franchise QB to jump under 300 pound lineman like a ball pit to get trampled...well, good luck. It seemed apparent he was playing it like a typical botched snap where lineman are kicking it around like a pin ball machine. Unfortunately, it flipped right to a 49er.
  19. The unanimous thing is downright comical. There are so many guys in past (probably dozens) that were no brainers why being unanimous would be anything meaningful is just strange. It isn’t and should not be relevant, they have screwed it up for years to the point it shouldn’t even be a topic. First ballot is what matters. It shows there is little to no doubt you were a HOFer. The real crime is Larry Walker making it. He started at 10%, was at 55% last year, and then jumped to 75%+ this year? Sorry, it doesn’t make a ton of sense. It is voting someone in to vote someone in last second. If he was actually deemed worthy it would have been reflected sooner. Maybe you think he is, maybe not. Regardless, that is the strange voting decision that should be talked about.
  20. Get the $5 mini pizza that for some reason is more than a standard size? That’s a good diet.
  21. Yelich is going to hit FA at a fantastic age primed for a mega deal. He is not going to take a deal that takes him to an awkward age 34. He won't get a huge deal then and he could really drop off by then. There is such little risk for Yelich at this point. He isn't risk free...but it isn't like he has chronic issues (like a Stanton for instance). Either pay up or lose him. That is the likely situation.
  22. I am not touching Arenado. We probably don't have a system worthy of getting him without using MLB pieces. On top of that you either empty the farm to watch him leave in two years after paying him crazy money (bad) or he stays because he isn't worth anywhere near what he is about to get paid (also bad). Sounds like a bad idea unless he leads us to a 'ship.
  23. 5. Voting: Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played. I see no problem with someone leaving out steroid guys. The voting flat out isn't just about stats. Until it is I find it quite acceptable for one to make an argument not to vote for these guys. People always seem to leave out the full voting criteria.
  24. For the most part the Badgers are playing at the same time and it's the team of choice. Football is different, because college and pro take up one day of the week. With multiple games a week it's asking a lot of people to follow two basketball teams at once. The Bucks don't have any of the tailgate/warm weather magic going for them either. It's very much a city team like you said and the fanbase reflects that. I figure the Badgers are part of it. They were the states basketball team for decades before the Bucks came into town. The Brewers are a young franchise, but the state already loved baseball because of the Braves and there was no other baseball team to really cheer for. Obviously the Brewers are a bigger family/casual draw too. Maybe a few generations down the road the Bucks can be more universal. There aren't that many people that grew up watching the Bucks like people do the Badgers/Packers/Brewers. I also see the lack of "diehard" fans. Maybe the Giannis era will get people devoted to hardcore following.
