  1. Down 3-0 early...I will still play. Late though? I am probably not throwing premium guys. But you may end up down 10-0 early the next day and the day before really was your best chance.
  2. Could have been a garbage deal...say 3/$30mil or so. When he declines the option he pretty much made $18mil in a single year.
  3. Barring a Game 163 we get at least one day to rest the entire team and unless there is something to play for Sunday that gives you two days. We should be fine. Though a Game 163 loss could be real detrimental.
  4. You are acting like it is going to cost $50mil to sign them. It’s like pennies on the dollar. Similar cost to some scrub BP arm we like to get for marginal upgrades there. If each WAR is worth $5-$8mil then Iglesias is possibly worth over $10mil to grab over Arcia. It won’t cost that much. Sounds like a potential solid move that could actually be a great value upgrade for us. Upgrade any way you can, especially for a low cost and short term commitment. Not every move has to be a flashy major upgrade. “Spend that money elsewhere”, in what? A Matt Albers extension? Also comparing Yuni B to Iglesias....come on. I get thinking it isn’t a worthwhile move, but that is a major stretch. Jose Iglesias seems like the only one worthwhile to me to go after. So no i don’t just want anything but Arcia over here.
  5. But but but I thought teams just gave up and laid down? They play hard for 19 innings when they have nothing to play for? That must be wrong. This is exactly what the brewers needed though. Gain quick games right away and then suddenly it isn’t such a big feat to catch the Cards. Keep it going today!
  6. It isn’t an end, you just need to be more creative with it.
  7. The Brewers magic number will be ONE when the Cubs finish their loss. The Mets are poised to eliminate themselves tonight down late to the Marlins. That will just leave the Cubs. Tomorrow we can put ourselves in the postseason with a win (we play earlier and likely finish earlier) or with a Cubs loss.
  8. That dude is an idiot. I recall him tinkering the crud out of the Game 7 in the World Series and almost blowing it...but maybe it was a different WS game.
  9. Uh oh Haha I kid mostly...but I am a prime supporter of making a ‘Super Pen’ and I think Pomeranz could be quite a value this offseason.
  10. I’m warning you all now, I’m going to be furious if we don’t bring PomPom back.
  11. It was very obvious. His pant leg was tight against his leg and it clearly hit the pant leg moving it. That’s besides the ball being effected too.
  12. Why do we suck so much when it comes to challenges?
  13. Yah, I could get some of it close, but I remember getting Row 4-5 in the outfield box last year for the NLDS. It gave me best available of like Row 9. Considering I was getting in from the get go I thought I might have been able to get at least first five rows down the line, especially only looking for a single seat. I was not really interested in the $150+ price tag for infield...not for the Wild Card game at least.
  14. Somehow these tickets were notably worse options than last year for the NLDS and even the NLCS...and I wasn't apart of the first round of presales last year. I was actually expecting closer than what it was spitting out at me (row wise). Since it wasn't I just opted for a terrace ticket for the Wild Card. I will just walk around and stand up if it happens.
  15. Likely causes: You made a purchase already (though I am guessing you didn't do this). You got logged in and backed out...then tried to enter again. Somehow your password got used I would call the ticket office or your rep.
  16. Cubs are going to care regardless because of how embarrassing they have been and the fact the Cardinals pretty much ruined their postseason hopes. They probably don't want their season to end even more embarrassing. Spoiler or not they want to win games to go into next year on some type of positive. I also doubt the Phillies will be anymore distraught if they lose the first game than before. Is it really that sad when your less than 0.00% chance at the postseason turns over to 0%...probably not.
  17. Heh, if only he could find a baseball with that swing. 100% right outside of the last two. Davies has either been white hot or a dumpster fire. He had an absolutely horrible summer, but is finding it again when needed most.
  18. For what it is worth NLDS will cost the same.
  19. Division all but a dismal hope now and Cubs are last remaining team with any type of realistic hope of a miracle to make it in. Pretty much playing for the WC home field advantage.
  20. Look...I agree with you on a lot of fronts about payroll. There are quite a few reasons more money will be coming in soon...like a notable amount. Though I think you are way more expecting than reality. I don’t see $150mil, but I think they could add a good amount next year. But at some point you just gotta realize it is a no-win situation when you try to explain their payroll down the the nail when in reality we know very little about the Brewers finances. You come off as this expert on their payroll...and that just isn’t possible. You really came off the wrong way about it originally and went ‘broken record’ non stop. Now people, somewhat understandably, want to dismiss it instantly when you even hint at payroll.
  21. Is Mr.92 talking payroll numbers again?
  22. If the scores stand the Cubs are the last remaining team with a semi realistic route to playing past Game 162. Mets/Phillies/D Backs would need miracles.
  23. Phillies are oddly intriguing because they play the Nationals for 4 games and then get the cupcake Marlins for 3 games. If they swept the Nationals they could easily win out and force the Nationals to beat the Indians at least 2/3. Which is no easy feat considering the Indians are in a dead heat for the AL Wild Card (and their division still I suppose). Of course one loss to the Nationals and they are all but out.
  24. It is better to get them sold earlier rather than closer to game date. Whether a strip or the pre sale trying to sell off initial excitement is the best course of action. it usually only goes down from there.
